These are very comfortable shoes and good for back pain. They are a little hard to get on without bunching up my socks, but once on, they fit perfectly. I usually have trouble with the heel slipping, but it isn\'t a problem with these. I also have a high instep and a wide toe/ball of my foot but these stretch nicely so they haven\'t given me any problems. They are not warm though.

These are perfectly comfortable yet stylish shoes that run true to size. Well worth the extra $$ as my feet don\'t feel sore at all at the end of the day. Great walking shoe.

This is my second pair of Merrell shoes that I have purchased from Zappos. The first pair was for a trip to China where I walked my legs off and the shoes felt like heaven on my feet. I am going to Italy in November and am walking all over again. I have worn this new pair for a few days now and they are more comfortable than the others. I would highly recommend Merrell for comfort. Like everyone else who shops with Zappos, I want to thank Zappos for the awesome way they treat their customers. Everything is so easy and quick. I don't know why one would want to shop anywhere else. Thank you Zappos for going above and beyond.

As an former sufferer of heel-spurs, my feet (not my wallet) tells me which shoes they want to wear and what not. So far, after two weeks of working in these, I am very happy. For those people that have problems in their forefoot, this might cause some problems, but otherwise, it's an elegant yet comfortable shoe. My former Merrells I wore for 2 years (Primo Patch) and did many miles in them (manager at a big hotel) and even though they do many more, I just wanted a "new look". Great shoe, comfortable. I have an average foot, so it's not too wide nor too tight, just perfect!

I love these shoes! They are as comfortable as my Merrell Mules, but a little dressier. I only wish they came in more colors!

I absolutely love these shoes. They are great looking to wear with work slacks and jeans. I am on my second pair. I wear them to work and with jeans on weekends. I replaced the insoles with a Superfeet insoles from REI. Now they are my most comfortable pair of shoes ever.

I work in medical care and these shoes are the best I have found. They look great with dress clothes, unlike most clogs, and are very comfortable. I have chronic back pain and my back is fine after walking and standing all day. They are a little tight at first but after about a week your feet will slip in and out easily. The soles of my feet get a bit sore if I wear thin dress socks, so I prefer to wear black sport socks with them for the most comfort. Sizing ran normal for me. Highly recommended!

These are probably the best, most comfortable shoe for the woman who works an active job (nurse, Flight Attendant, Postal Worker, etc.). They are polished looking, go best with slacks, not slippery, and they stretch just enough where needed. It completely molds to your foot. I am on my feet 12 hours a day in these and my back and my feet don't hurt!

I have not worn these yet but of course I tried them on when they arrived. My first reaction after slipping my feet in was pure bliss, they are so comfortable. I will probably wear them with jeans as these are not a work shoe for me.

I bought these with a trip to Europe in mind and I wanted to carry as few pairs of shoes as possible. These look great with jeans or slacks and being Merrell, were comfortable walking all over the city. One shoe rubbed the back of one ankle, but a bandaid was a simple solution. They take a little effort to put on, but the stretch upper meant I never worried about losing a shoe while climbing tower stairs. Very comfortable and I wore them all week with no foot soreness at all. Found them true to fit with all my Merrell shoes and highly recommend.

I have struggled to find a good walking shoe for traveling. I have a narrow foot and although the toe area is very roomy in this shoe, it is narrow enough. The waterproof feature is especially nice. Looks great with jeans and pants.

Let's face it; the Spire Stretch isn't going to win any high fashion awards. But the comfort and support of this shoe is unparalleled. I pound city sidewalks and tend to grind down the outer edge of my heels...that starts a vicious cycle of supination that breaks down the support structure of most shoes in a matter of months. None of that happened with the Spire Stretch. There really is something to this "Q Alignment" system! I bought a second pair...and hope that Merrell continues to make this shoe available. Zappos' service is unparalleled too.

This is my third pair of Merrell Spires. They are by far the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn and I wear them until I wear them out. The stretchy top entry makes them easy to slip into as well as keep the feet inside while walking. Excellent arch support, a roomy toe box and attractive styling complete the package. Get them while you can.
