The Merrell Intercept is a very nice shoe that can be used for walking, running, trail running, or looking better than a regular pair of sneakers with jeans and a T-shirt. I normally wear a 10.5 in most of my shoes, but these feel a little shorter than normal, so I would recommend going up a half size from usual.

I have worn the first pair of these for a year and just ordered another pair today. These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned and am glad they still make them. My old pair aren’t worn or showing wear, just wanted a different color. Trust me, you will be hard pressed to find a more comfortable shoe, especially if you have plantar fasciitis as I do in my heel which is very uncomfortable if you walk or stand a lot. I love ‘em.

Order a size larger than what you normally wear, most Merrells I have worn run a little small and this was no exception. I normally wear size 13, but I had to get a size 14 in this shoe. The only 14 I have ever owned. Looks good with both jeans and khaki's. I use as an everyday work shoe for the most part. However, I do take my kids on hikes occasionally at a local state park and this shoe performs well on light to moderate trails.

My wife and I went to Paris for a week, and we were really trying to bring just one pair of shoes. I have Brooks running shoes, but I wanted something rugged and that would be comfortable. These shoes are amazing! Love them, fit great, and would buy them again. Just remember, in France...you are going to walk a lot!

I've worn these shoes for a few weeks now and they feel great! They were good out of the box and served me well today. I have been fighting heel pain for several years. These shoes along with a pair of Brooks (also bought at Zappos) are giving me the support and cushion I've been needing! Thank you Zappos for the fab. customer service!

I bought this due to very favorable reviews -- and I am not disappointed. I am a big fan of Keens, have quite a few in my closet, so it was with some trepidation that I placed my order for these Merrell's. In particular, I find many shoes are too narrow for my feet -- the Merrell's have turned out to fit very nicely and sufficiently wide for me. I hiked all over Sedona Arizona and they held up fantastically with nary a blister to show for my efforts. They were especially excellent on rock surfaces, providing excellent traction and support. They are still dressy looking enough that I can wear them to work. Compared to Keens, they are similar in comfort. My Keens seem to have softer, cushier soles and they don't seem to be quite as stiff feeling. However, I often get a blister on my heel the first time I wear one of my Keens. Overall, I love these Merrell's and I definitely would get another pair and recommend them highly.

I was really please with the selection of Merrell shoes and boots on Zappos. I ordered them with ease online and had them shipped to an overseas APO address. I received them alot quicker than I thought I would. I tried them on and unfortunately they were one half size too small. They had my size in stock so I called and spoke to a very friendly and helpful assistant. She immediately sent out the correct size without delay. Normally, I would be required to wait until my return was received but not Zappos. I will return to Zappos for all of my future, online shoe purchases. Thanks a million, Brendan

Fantastic shoe for walking around, hiking, or a casual day at work. One thing, if you're a 10.5 in a Nike, you'll need an 11 in these, they seem to run a bit small.

Man, these shoes are great! I've tried Merrell's in the past and they typically have been about 1/2 size small on my right foot (big toes you know). But they appear to have either fixed it, or my foot shrunk. (I think I will agree that they have fixed it). Anyway, they have great arch support and fit like a glove. With a little more wear, they definitely will stretch some and are going to be my faves. Way to go Zappos (and Merrell)!

Well-made, excellent shoe. Lightweight, yet sturdy. Comfortable & supportive. Seems to run 1/2 size smaller than expected - had to return for 1/2 size up - excellent service as always from Zappos. Would buy another Merrell shoe.

These shoes fit like a glove! They are great for outdoor running and hiking. This is my first tennis shoe type Merrells and I couldn't be happier! They are soo comfortable. Even more impressive than the shoes is the service from Zappos! Lightning fast delivery too! Thanks Zappos!

Bought these for my husband. He felt they ran about a 1/2 size small, but otherwise loves them. A very comfortable walking shoe.

I picked up a pair of these about a month ago. The rubber sole is quite aggressive and tracks well on ice, snow, and probably just about anything else. I am usually a size 8 on most sneakers and boots, but a 7.5 fits me perfect for these. Also, the laces are about twice as long as they need to be, but who cares. Overall, I think the Merrell Intercepts are really comfortable, and look great.

I wear these shoes almost daily and can\'t describe how comfortable they are.I will continue to buy these until they discontinue them. I also have other Merrell shoes and flip flops and were nothing else.I am flat footed and have plantar fasciitis in my left heel and these are the only shoes I own that do not make my foot hurt. They are a little expensive but they are worth it to me.

This is a follow-up to my review of December 12. Just got back from Europe. The weather was nasty: rain, snow, cold. I lived in these shoes for seven days. Excellent product. Highly recommended.

The Merrell Intercept is an excellent shoe for moderate outdoor use. The shoe provides very good support and comfort. It is quite sturdy given its relatively light weight. It is well designed in terms of appearance. The combination of materials has been well thought out with respect function as well as appearance. I have had various Merrell shoes for a number of years and expect particularly long durability from this shoe.

I bought these shoes for an upcoming winter trip to Europe. I expect to do a lot of walking and the weather will be cold and wet. I have been walking around San Francisco to break them in. My comments so far: Size - I normally wear 10-11. In these shoes, I needed an 11.5. Seems to run a full size small. Arch - I have a flat feet. For walking, I need moderate arch support and good cushioning. Shoes with a big or rigid arch are uncomfortable. This model works well. Construction - excellent, as you would expect from Merrell. Style - I do not like a shoe that looks overly constructed with lots of doodads to call attention to it. The Smooth Black Leather color is good. Zappos service - I am in the Customer Service industry. Zappos is the gold standard; quick, easy, helpful and informative. They handled my exchange from an 11 to 11.5 perfectly. I will update this review when I return from my trip.
