These seem to fit a half size smaller then they are marked. The arch is in the right location for the half size smaller shoe. Had to go up a half size to get the fit I needed.

Had Merrill for 10 years and always loved them. This was the first pair that just fit wrong. Not enough arch support and much narrower than their typical fit. They don’t come in wide so no an option for anyone that doesn’t have a narrow foot.

I also wear a twelve and also found the toe box uncomfortably small. A 13 would not work. I had to return them.

I've worn two pairs of Merrell Moab Ventilators for two years. This is listed as the same size (exactly) but really pinches the toes, and the shoes are lopsided. You'll roll your ankle inside. The pictures don't show it very well, there is a lot of material on the outside and not so much on the inside. I'm very disappointed. And the laces are the patented Merrell laces that won't ever stay tied.

I would have kept this shoe but it was too tight on my little toe due to the tapering of the toe box

These could be comfortable shoes. I typically wear a 13 / 13.5 and after reading reviews, ordered a 14. Interesting that the left shoe is smaller. My toes come up against the toe box end and it's uncomfortable. I wish I would have exchanged this immediately, but another reviewer said, "Don't worry...they break in." Well it hasn't after a few weeks. I will need to order another pair, and have wasted money. I probably will not order this again though - Ecco seems to be more true to size. The shoe is a good shoe, but the measurement is just not accurate.

I like them, BUT, I have wide feet and normally wear a 9.5" wide; when that's not available, I bump it up to a 10" medium. These were still a little tight on my feet causing minor discomfort.

I've had no issues with the shoes themselves. They have been comfortable since day 1. The soles, however, are terrible. They have minimal traction during normal wear and absolutely none on wet surfaces. Add to that problem, the quick wear and you are rapidly left with a marginal shoe at best.

I'm a loyal Merrell customer - have enjoyed their shoes the past few years, but these shoes didn't work for me. The look and lightweight feel of this shoe is fantastic, but Merrell must have changed the sizing of their shoes. I ordered the same size as an older pair of the Chameleons and felt the Intercept was too tight. Not until after I tried to break them in did I compare the shoe to my Chameleons and noticed it was at least a half a size shorter.

I've been wearing Merrell shoes exclusively for the past 5 or 6 years now and this is the first pair I've been disappointed in. Although the break-in time was very short and they are extremely comfortable to wear, they just haven't held up as past Merrell's have. After only about 6 months the soles are almost worn out and the toes and fronts of the soles have delaminated.

These shoes fit well but they are not comfortable. I tried them on and they are hard as a rock. Form fitting and comfort are two different things. A top 10 comfort shoe does not need to be broken in to be comfy either.

This is one of the most comfortable shoes I have owned. They are great at work (physical therapy) and working around the house and hiking. However they squeak every time I lift my heals. Besides that they are great!

These shoes are definitely comfortable. I bought them a week ago. I had a surprise however, on a rainy day I walked in to a building that had tile flooring and discovered that the soles are extremely slippery when wet! I have to be careful not to wear them as a day shoe if rain is in the forecast.

I was looking for a great pair of walking shoes on pavement and my foot is an honest 10.5. I don't think Ive ever bought a size 11 shoe. Ordered 11s based on reviews and it was still too small, both in length and in width near the pinkie toe which was getting squished. The 11.5s finally fit well in width and length, but the heel is not tapered enough to prevent sliding of the heel off the sole on every step. So 11s were too narrow and 11.5s were too long. If it was a cheap shoe I could live with it, but on this price shoe it should fit like a glove and not allow any heel slip. They did absorb shock very well. Ordered a pair of Asics for half price that felt just as comfortable. Zappos was great as usual.

My birthday was coming up and my sister wanted to know what I would like so I told her a pair of the Intercepts in a size 10.5 (the size I have worn for the past 15 years in other Merrell's and other brands). Right out of the box they seemed a little tight so I thought I would loosen the laces and wear them around a bit and perhaps they would break in. Unfortunately, they never did and they are most likely not returnable, even though I only wore them for a day. I would like to recommend Merrell to re-check their sizing in the manufacturing process because I have always loved the way Merrell's fit and look. Now I have a pair that just sits in the box awaiting for my 3 year old son to grow into them!

I desperately needed new walking shoes and after some research found that the Merrell Intercept was rated one of the best walking shoes of 2009. I’ve been wearing the shoes for my morning walks for a couple of months and this is what I’ve experienced: 1) the insoles are not padded. That doesn’t cause any real pain but it does make me lament the mid 1980s when high top Reeboks wore like pillows on my feet; 2) hard stitching inside the shoes rub blisters into my feet. Yeah, I realize that shoes need to be ‘broken in’ but I feel more like the tops of my feet are being broken in than the shoe. No problem that a little duct tape hasn’t fixed; 3) these shoes slip and slide on wet asphalt and wet payment. Ideally, these shoes work best when hiking on the dirt in the woods.

I've owned at least 15 pairs of Merrells, shoes, boots, and sandals and always wore a 7.5. These are much smaller than the others, the toe box is too narrow and they are shorter. My toes are smashed up against the front of the shoe. Foolishly, I wore them hoping they would stretch out a little, but they haven't, and now I can't return them. I still love Merell's styling and will continue to buy them, I guess I'll just have to buy in person and try them on now, instead of ordering online.

I have owned these shoes for about 7 months, at first I just used them for light hiking. They were so comfortable after a few hikes that I decided to replace my regular shoes with these. NOT A GOOD IDEA! I only got about 2 months of user out of them before I realized that the rubber on the bottom of these shoes is about as soft as a pair of rock climbing shoes. I had to stop wearing them at this point because the soles were at the point that I could feel every little rock through my shoes. I gave these pair of shoes a 3 star rating instead of a 1 because if you are a casual hiker that only hits the trails every once in a while I would recommend them, as they are a incredibly comfortable pair of shoes for that purpose. When it comes to rough trails or everyday use, stay away from these for sure.

I've loved these shoes, bought them back in March. Super comfortable, traveling around Honduras, mostly walking around on dirt/stone roads. One draw back is the sole is wearing out quick. Already getting a little smooth in some spots.

Sizing wrong -
I am, and have always been a size 11.5. This is the only shoe I've ever had where my toes are touching the end of the shoe! Plus it has some strange manufacturing defect that makes them look like old man slippers b/c the sides of the shoe are so overstuffed that they look ridiculous to me. I would return these if I had realized in time.

Really happy with the look, fit and comfort. Nice all around shoe. The mesh material on the sides are a little easy to snag and rip. (It's a soft material) After a month the mesh has started to slightly come apart at the seams. I'm extremely rough on shoes though. If you keep it simple these are a solid choice for the price.

Very tight toe box -
This is the first Merrell shoe I have bought that doesn’t fit good right out of the box. When I put the shoes on I can feel the different width in the toes. It feels like below the laces that the shoes are too tight. I am hoping the more I wear them that they will stretch. I have worn them two weeks and they are a little better, but are still a little tight.
