Aloha, I love, love, love these hiking shoes. I normally wear a size 8.5 I ordered it first...returned for the size 9. Perfect fit and I was able to walk 5 miles the first day without any problems. After walking 25 miles in one week I knew these were my new BEST FRIENDS. I recently enjoyed my new BFF'S for a three day hike around Hualalai volcano on the Big Island. trails with dirt, mud and lava. My feet were never happier under such conditions. Great Merrell quality and comfort.

Really a great shoe once I added special arch supports for my bad knees. Merrell shoes hold up for years so it's a great value. Will use for hiking, running, work, and walking the dog.

I had been tipped off by another Zappos reviewer that these Merrell run a bit small. I wear a 6.5 dress shoe and 7.5 running shoe. The size 8 Moab Ventilator were perfect in fit and sure footing for trekking challenging trails in Yosemite National Park. Lightweight and ventilated, a good choice for rough terrain or paved surfaces, too.

Very comfortable right out of the box. Wore them brand-new on a two-week trip on which I hiked three miles each day. No problems! I don't know how waterproof they are -- didn't test that element.

Love these shoes. I ordered a 1/2 size up and I don't think it was necessary. They feel very roomy. They are very comfortable and I had no break-in period or blisters. They were wonderful from the very start.

These were my third pair of Merrell sneakers. I absolutely loved the first two, a style that has since been discontinued, and lived in them for work and play. But all shoes eventually get shabby looking with that kind of wear, so I bought the newer model, Moab Ventilators. Sadly, they hurt my feet. It surprised me because of my past experience so I kept wearing them. During that time I have developed plantar fasciitis and now I have real problems! I want to recommend the shoes but feel like the changed style was not a good choice for me. Even though I now wear custom orthotics in my shoes, these rub me wrong in the toe area. I need new shoes and don't know whether to try another style of Merrells or look for something else.

Great product. Comfortable option for those of us with "sore" feet. Wide toe box so roomy.

These run true to size and are very comfortable. There was no breaking in time at all. The description for the laces however is wrong. They are not at all elastic. I wish Merrell would bring back the Chameleon Stretch for women as those had elastic laces!

I have plantar faciatis and my feet almost always hurt. These sneakers offer the support I need to keep my feet in line. The sneaker is strongly structured and may feel a bit "clunky" but for me the importance lies in the support they provide.

Love these shoes! I've been purchasing this model for a few years now, super comfortable from day one and excellent support for daily wear, walking, and hiking. Pretty summery color also.

I currently own the Moab Ventilator and the waterproof version. Because the shoes are so supportive of my dodgy knees, I use them for walks in the suburbs as well as the trails...I even use them at the gym. I do use a special orthotic that was custom made at a running shoes store. I find the toe box just accommodates the front of my foot without any extra "give." (I don't have wide feet, but they're not narrow, either, and often toe boxes in shoes aren't wide enough to keep my little toe from being pinched.) As for the waterproof version, I wore them during three rainy weeks in England/Ireland last summer and never had a problem. I think the shoes are attractive enough that I don't feel self-conscious wearing them to the gym. I'm just grateful my knees feel okay, and that I can still take walks and hike.

These are fantastic shoes. They just too hot for sub tropic southeast Florida. They are pretty, and comfortable but I need less heavy shoes. I ordered an 8½ and they fit great.

These shoes are great for hiking. They have a sturdy, supportive heel and were comfy to wear right out of the box.

Perfect, service, fit and very excited about Zappos. Nice to know someone cares about their customers. The shoe is great but maybe returning due to 90 degree temps in Florida - wanted for NC trip but wasn't able to take them. I can't make up my mind - love the shoe though!

Great fit to my size (9) that I need snug in heel and wide enough for my toes. Also has a good arch support. The second pair of Merrell's I have bought.

I originally purchased this as a hiking shoe a month or two ago. I love it so much, I'm buying a second pair for everyday use. This is one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I've found!

Love my Merrells! They are, without a doubt, the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. Thanks to Zappos, they were delivered to my doorstep the very next day. You can't beat that!

My Merrell Moab Ventilators fit well and are comfortable and I think good looking. My orthopedic surgeon reccommended Merrells to me a few years ago. They are the primary shoes now in my wardrobe. Zappos has proven to be quick in sending out orders and good about receiving any shoes I might need to send back.

These shoes are the best! I ordered 6 other pairs so I could try them all on and choose the best ones (thanks, Zappos!). I wanted them for hiking and rock climbing. They felt like sneakers, so soft and comfy right out of the box. No break-in time at all! The first time I wore them, a friend took me on an unexpectedly rocky, slushy, icy mountain trail. These shoes gave me great ankle and arch support, they stayed dry and kept my toes warm even though it was freezing out! (By the way, I'm one of those people who rarely writes reviews...but these are so great I had to run home and tell you all about them!) After a few hours of hiking, my feet and my entire body felt great. Not one blister or sore spot. And did you see the price? They turned out to be the least expensive ones I tried. This choice is a no-brainer.

I've been using these shoes for stair-climbing, and they have worked out well. They're comfortable, and I didn't have to break them in at all. I like the looks of these shoes, too - I bought mine in blue.

I love these shoes. They're my first pair of Merrells and I bought them strictly for hiking the trails in the foothills. I used to buy cross training athletic shoes for running and hiking, but now that I have tried these I will keep them separate. Highly recommend.

This shoe has a roomy toe box and is wide enough to accommodate my orthotics. I need shoes with a relatively rigid sole, which this shoe has, because of Hallux Rigidus (osteoarthritis in my big toe). They are not as streamlined looking as some other Merrell styles, but aren't too clunky. Nice with khakis. I had to order a half size up.

These are great shoes. They are comfortable and supportive, plus the mesh panels really do ventilate just as the name implies.
