This is the second pair I have owned. Works well with my narrow heel and gives me enough room in the toe bed. Comfortable immediately out of the box. Light weight. And low enough so that I don't have problems with rubbing on my ankle bone due to my ankle pronation. Definitely a great shoe. Also tried the Ahnu Montara II but these were more comfortable.

These shoes truly don't need any breaking in which is invaluable. They are lightweight yet sturdy. I need a lot of ankle and arch support and they are supportive enough to help with these issues - I feel well aligned.
I'd also recommend:
Five Ten Camp Four is good too with even more ankle/arch support but not as lightweight or flexible.

Excellent shoe! I have purchased it three times, replacing when the shoes wear out. They are really useful for long, long hours of walking or standing. They provide a substantial support surface to cushion your feet from the hard road surfaces.

Good light hiker. I was looking for something for warmer weather and shorter distance hiking. I had to return the first pair - one shoe was a half size smaller than the other though they were marked the same size. It was easy enough to return and order again. The next pair I tried on were fine. This has the roomy toe box I need. It also has a removable insole so I could use my custom orthotics. I used the shoes right out of the box, no break in required.

Bummer! This seemed like THE SHOE I was looking for but after wearing it around the house for only an hour or so my troublesome feet started hurting. I was even sitting for most of the time... My son has the man's version and says he has no problems with them. I guess it's just not the right shoe for me. Too bad and back to the drawing board, I guess. I have to say I love the free shipping and returns at Zappos! I would never be able to buy shoes online without it and they have such a great selection compared to going to the local store.

I was SO happy with these shoes. I bought them for an overseas trip where I was going to do a lot of walking and some hiking. I wanted a lightweight hiking/walking shoe. I have a wide foot and have trouble finding comfortable shoes. I wore these for 2 hours on carpet in my office to give them a shot and then wore them on the plane and for most of my 10-day trip. No soreness, no blisters. And, as the top review states there was plenty of room in the shoe without needing to buy a wide. I got a half size up from my regular size.

I wore these for the first time to hike a category III mountain to 13,500 ft. It was almost 5,000 ft of elevation gain and about 9 hours of hiking. Didn't get a single blister and felt comfortable and supported all day.

Great comfort and support right out of the box. Love these shoes! I bought them at a time of need - was in the mountains and learned I did not have appropriate shoes so I bought these on the spot. I did have to size up. They saved the day and my vacation. Note: I always buy my shoes from Zappos, but this was an emergency! Next pair will come from Zappos, where I buy 99% of my shoes!

This is the most comfortable shoe of my entire life. I bought them for hiking on vacation, but I wear them almost every day. I was a little hesitant at first because they seem a little heavy, but I literally forget I have shoes on when I wear these. They are unbelievable. I even sent my mother a pair and she couldn't get over how fabulous they were. I thought they ran really small. I normally wear a size 8 to 8.5 in an athletic shoe, but I ended up needing a 9 in these. I have no idea if other Merrell shoes are this great, but these are the best thing ever. I might buy another pair asap in case this style gets discontinued.

These shoes are extemely comfortable. Great cushioning. I feel like I'm walking on clouds. I'm not crazy about the style, to be honest. But for a pair of hiking shoes, I'm sold on the comfort.

Love, love, love these shoes! I am on my feet all day on concrete and these are exactly what I was looking for. Also, can not wait to take them on all my camping adventures. The first pair size 10 was a little small in the toe, and as I read reviews learned that Merrell tends to run small. This was my first experience with Zappos and I was thrilled with the fast shipping and returns. Well done in exceeding my expectations!

I've had these for about a month. I usually walk in the woods for about 5 miles every day. These have been wonderful. I have a fairly wide forefoot, high arches and a narrow heel, and these have been very comfortable. They have enough room that I had no problem inserting my custom footbed for all my other foot issues but my foot does not slip around inside the boot. I read one reviewer who thought the Moab was not very stylish and I disagree. They are as stylish as a hiking boot can be. I'm almost tempted to buy another pair for when/if these wear out.

Wow. I love these shoes. Just got them, and they fit right out of the box. I have had bad plantar fasciitis, and the support feels excellent -- the heels are nice and stiff (that sounds bad, but it feels great). What is more, they fit orthotics without any problem at all (and I have two pairs, one less and more hardcore: both are fine in these shoes). I ordered my regular size and 1/2 size up, based on the other reviews. For me, my regular size worked well -- no idea why. The 1/2 size up were huge on me, even with both pairs of orthotics in the shoe at the same time! I am a 7 and have wider feet, so I really expected the size 7 not to fit, but that size, as it turns out, is perfect. Just one more not that it is important for me that the orthotics go in, in this case, because the arch support for people with foot issues like mine isn't quite enough. But I find that to be true, for me, with all shoes. My advice would be to order two sizes; I almost ordered only the 7.5, and I'm glad I got both so that I can start using this shoe right away. Never owned Merrell shoes before -- and I'm a convert. So happy with these shoes!

I love these shoes! The fit is great: having a narrow heel and wider toe box has made finding comfortable shoes almost impossible, but these are perfect. They are true to size.

Bought these for day hiking and love them. They are so comfortable, I sometimes wear them to walk the dogs. I need a roomy toe but my heel is narrow and I like the way they form fit my foot.

These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I have very high arches and often suffer from arch pain, ball of foot pain and knee pain when I walk for more than a half mile. Wore these all over Ireland and Rome with no problems. Great arch support and cushioning.

This is my first pair of Merrell shoes. The style is exactly what I was looking for. Needed comfy shoes to wear almost every day; with casual attire either jeans, skirts or shorts. I love them already.

I wish these had fit. I am looking for a pair of hiking boots but have arthritis in my feet and it has proved a task. I would recommend ordering a half size larger. I decided on a pair of Keens for now but may try these later in a larger size. Don't you just love Zappos?!

I love these shoes. They fit perfectly and are very comfortable. Often I get blisters after wearing a new shoe for the first time but not with these- they are light weight enough for walking and sturdy enough for hiking. I would highly recommend them!

Suffering from Plantar Fasciitis? This shoe provides terrific arch support. The sole is semi-rigid which prevents overstretching of the fascia with each step. The sole also provides neutral stability of the ankle so you are less likely to accidentally invert your ankle. I have suffered from plantar fasciitis for 8 years and this is the best shoe I have found thus far. It has a removable insole and accommodates my custom orthotics nicely. They are not a heavy shoe either. I bought a "B"width shoe even though I usually buy "W" and it was perfect.

I'm a massage therapist and I'm on my feet a lot. I was looking for a shoe that was comfortable, had good arch support and sturdy sole. I wasn't sure if I would like this shoe with the mesh at the toe box, but with the shoestrings being anchored with the shoe fabric, it supports my foot very well. I did insert a sport insole. This is a very comfortable shoe. I will be looking for other Merrell products I the future. I did have a small problem with the shoestring loop on the tongue becoming detached, but with a call to Zappos Customer Service a new pair was sent. And I appreciate the free return shipping. Zappos CS rocks!

I ordered these to replace my Keen Voyageurs. I've been using the Keens for walking (20+ miles per week with the dogs), and although I was happy with the fit of the Keens, I wasn't happy that the soles wear out so quickly. I chose the Merrells mostly because they have a Vibram sole, so I'm hoping they last longer. They're really lightweight and comfortable. I didn't need to break them in, and I was so happy the first week I wore them, my husband ordered a pair as well.

I so wanted to be able to wear these hikers. They are wonderfully lightweight. I need a wide toe box, and these shoes fit just fine in the front, but the support in the midsection was really uncomfortable. It felt like ridges were under both sides of the midsection of the shoe. This wasn't too noticeable at first, but after an hour of wear my feet really hurt on the sides. So back they went. I'm still searching for the elusive perfect hiker.
