I wear size 6 shoe. I ordered a 6.5 and they fit great. Once you put on a sock and need a little wiggle room for your toes, they are very comfortable. Wore them a couple times prior to hiking in Glacier National Park and had no problems. Sturdy hiking shoe on trails and wet rocks with lots of padding in heel area. Highly recommend for hiking.

Great shoe for short or long walks/hikes. Fit perfectly (I ordered half size larger for my long walks to accommodate swelling). I purchased a second backup pair - just in case the style changes before I need to reorder!

These shoes are great for walking and hiking. My feet feel very well supported and protected in these shoes. I bought a half size larger so I can wear heavier socks or not; however, fit is true to size. I highly recommend these shoes. I wish they had more colors to chose from.

My feet are really annoying to fit heel support in this shoe was great I have heel problems spurs stress fracture so cushioning provided makes wearing them enable me to go longer I used these for moderate hiking with satisfaction sizing is a problem for everyone and I needed to reorder to get a full size larger than I wear but Zappos staff very helpful that generally that is true of hiking shoes toe room great!

Love these - I wore them all over Yellowstone National Park. No problems - I liked these better than the Keens. I'd recommend!

This shoe is working well for me, and I'm an over-pronator with scary-big bunions. (Additional pertinent info: I'm 5'6", 140 lbs, 60 years old, and very active.) I ordered a 9 in the medium width. Typically in street shoes, I wear an 8 1/2, but I usually go up to a 9 in sport-type trainers, and that worked in this case. I did add an insert (Spenco PolySorb CrossTrainer Full Length Insoles) for more cushioning. These shoes can't cure my hip bursitis, obviously, but they have made a difference in my ability to hike more comfortably with less pain overall.

These are amazing for hiking. Excellent support, easy to walk, protect your feet, and surprisingly keep feet dry (even when you sweat like crazy everywhere else hiking under California sun). Also, I had a foot injury before and I was afraid to go on a mountain - no problem with these shoes! And my foot still hurts in other shoes. Highly recommend! worth the money.

These are terrific. My first pair of day hikers. I had pulled a tendon on my heel and these were fabulous as I returned to walking 3 miles a day. Lots of support. No break in period. My husband is considering a pair of Merrells as well!They are a bit big without thick socks. I might have ordered a 1/2 size down but decided I wanted the option to wear a thick sock in the fall and winter. I gave them two stars on style. Well they are day hikers... Not exactly Louboutin's!

I wear a 9.5 in Asics running shoe when I wear them, and had to get a 10 in this one. I wore it around the house a bit before we took off for Colorado, and we hiked 2 14-ers and the shoes were great! No break in time, they were perfect and I look forward to wearing them at home when doing gardening, digging in particular. I barefoot jog, and have flat feet, and I do not like an arch support. This was perfect! My son also bought some, but he has a high arch and needed an insole support for his arches and needed extra cushioning. He walks like an elephant though. He needed a half size up as well and he usually wears Nike.

Great shoes! I bought them in the same size that I buy sneakers. I wear a 7 in sneakers and 6.5 in other shoes. I wore them right away on a 5 mile, rocky hike and had very minor rubbing or discomfort (until I adjusted the snugness of the laces). They're fairly lightweight yet very sturdy.

After recently experiencing stress fracture in my leg, I have become very particular about my shoes...these are great, they offer lots of support and I have been able to wear them without a break-in period.

Purchased these Merrell Moab shoes for a trip to Alaska. I loved them. Wore them every day, from hiking to glaciers to everyday getting around.

I bought this shoe for some light hiking. It is very comfortable and did not require any break-in period. I usually wear a size 7 shoe and a 7.5 sneaker and found that I needed this shoe in a 7.5. I would definitely recommend the Moab Ventilator.

I have terrible foot problems. 2 bones surgeries on my left foot and Morton's neuroma & sesamoiditis on my right. Foot pain is every day. I needed comfortable, supportive shoes and these do it. The sole is firm and the back holds in my narrow heel that slips out of most other shoes. I would recommend these definitely.

I love Merrells and these are no exception. These shoes are super comfortable with lots of room in the toe area. Cute, practical, and comfortable - you can't go wrong!

I really wanted to love these shoes and they did fit well so I was sorry to return them. The only thing I did not like was the massive tongue on this shoe that rubbed the top of my instep. I really felt that this would annoy me and become painful after long walks. I was sorry to have to return these as I loved the rest of the shoe and the footbed.

Before I tore a huge gash in the side of a pair of Ventilators I had for years (almost a decade), they were my favorite shoes. I was a little skeptical about ordering these, but they turned out perfect. They are great for yard work, lazy days around the office and overall usage. I have tendinitis in my right ankle and these shoes fit perfect even when I'm wearing my padded neoprene ankle brace. You really don't need to break them in either which is great. The only negative comment I have is that I recently wore these on our 5 mile walk/hike for the 4th of July fireworks and my feet were incredibly sore the next day. Probably not the best choice to wear on a large walk, but it was the first time they weren't comfortable. I've received compliments on them, so the look and style are great!

This was my first pair of hiking shoes. Total comfort, no breaking them in. Hiked to Machu Picchu like I was floating on a cloud. I'm a true size 8.5 and I did order up 1/2 size like everyone recommended and it was a perfect fit.

The shoes fit perfectly - the toe box is roomy (which is important to me because I have wide feet) and the heels are snug and comfortable. I really like Merrill shoes, and this pair is one of the reasons why.

Another good review for these shoes! They are very comfortable right out of the box, which is important since I am a dog walker. They look cute even though I have big size 10 feet, which is important to me. Some shoes make size 10 feet look absolutely huge, and these do not. Overall they are very cute, lightweight, and fit well. They could have a tiny bit more support, but I use inserts so this is not a problem for me.

Bought these for a trip to Alaska and they worked extremely well for the light hiking we had planned. Comfortable enough to wear out of the box; no break-in period required! Also able to wear these as a heavier tennis shoe out and about, which is good when traveling and for saving space in the suitcase (no need to pack these, just wear with jeans on the plane!). I ordered a half-size up because my usual size felt a bit snug and I like to wear a heavier sock while hiking. Can't go wrong with these! Merrell consistently performs well (I've owned three pairs of hiking boots/shoes over the years) and these are very stylish, to boot!

These were comfortable immediately. Not much lilac, alas (the online photos are accurate). I felt some moisture coming through the top as I walked through tall wet grass. I plan to wear these a lot.

I should have read the review more closely. This shoe is for hiking more than daily walking and running, and they hurt my feet terribly.

These shoes are amazing, they are sturdy and feel great. I have used them for hiking and riding my bike and they are just great shoes. They have a really tight feel in the beginning, but after a few weeks, they are great.
