I have this same shoe in the hiking boot and also own several other Merrell shoes. I had worn custom orthotics & battled various foot issues but the fit of the Merrell shoes has greatly improved my foot problems, especially pronation issues. I am a loyal Merrell customer because of this. I wanted a 2nd pair of comfy everyday shoes to wear & ordered these because I was so happy with the hiking boots in this style. I also wear the Siren Sport 2 shoe and found the Moab & Siren Sport 2 to be similar as a good comfortable shoe with excellent support.

I chose these because my Siren Sports were beat up. I read reviews where people said the Siren Sport 2 were not as good as they were, so I bought these. I really like these so far. I wear them for daily exercise walking. The toe box is very roomy and I had to tighten the laces before they felt familiar. That made a huge difference. They give a lot of support for my ankles as well. I find my self walking with more energy which for me is a big deal.

For a person like me who loves to hike but has multiple foot problems, sinking a hundred dollars on a pair of shoes is a bit daunting. A podiatrist once told me that on a scale of 1 to 10 my arches are a 12. Finding walking shoes that support my sky-high arches is very rare. Since I've had good luck with Merrells in the past I decided to go this route again. I have to confess that the glowing reviews on this shoe attracted me. Zappos had my shoes to me very quickly. I usually wear a size 9 and found these to be true to size. They felt pretty good out of the box but of course the real test was going to be out on the trail. I hiked a rugged trail in them for their first outing and they felt surprisingly good...no break in time at all. Wow. I didn't expect that. These shoes balance my feet very well, preventing them from rolling inward or outward. The arch supports are insane (a good thing) and I found that the heal of the shoe fit nicely with no rubbing. The tread on these shoes is very nice. I could feel some of the sharper rocks though the soles a slight bit but not to where it was at all bothersome. Merrell has a real winner here...worth every penny.

This is a great versatile, everyday shoe. I bought two, one for hiking/walking, the other for all the time. Great shoes!

Great hikers. I had Merrell Siren hikers before and loved them, but I switched to the Moab because they have better traction/lugs and we're just more comfy by comparison. That was a surprise since I wore my Sirens for years. I only wish Merrell had better colors. Most combos don't appeal at all!

Love my Merrells! I have 5 pairs for everyday and play. Bought this pair as we were headed west for a vacation and I didn't want to pack my mid-hi hikers. They are nice and snug in the heel (no slipping), and roomy in the toe (to accommodate a thicker hiking sock). As with the rest of my Merrells, needed to go a half size up from my normal size. Wore them throughout our trip to the Rockies and the Badlands and the Black Hills. Comfortable right out of the box and made for sure footing on some pretty uneven surfaces. You can't go wrong with these.

I finally had to admit that my old Merrell hiking shoes had had enough (after the 14er mountain climb this summer in Colorado). I loved those shoes so much that I was reluctant to replace them. I'm happy to say that the new Merrells do not disappoint. My feet feel so supported...great arch support, great lateral stability so that my knees don't start hurting, great ankle support without being constricting and a roomy toe box that is kind to my challenged toes. Thank you, Merrell!

This is my second pair of Ventilators. I wore a hole in the heel lining of my old pair. Otherwise they are still holding up well (if I could figure out how to patch that hole). I also had to go up a 1/2 size to accommodate my new Orthotic insert with thicker hiking socks. These new ones are now more comfortable that the old ones. I wear these for hiking on easier trails where I don't need a full boot for ankle support. They are my favorite/most comfortable shoe for walking the cobblestones in Europe. Keep in mind, they are not water proof of you get caught in a rainstorm, but they dry overnight typically. One tip from my old pair. Merrell sells replacement inserts and if you order the 7mm thickness, it adds a lot of cushion to the bottom of you feet when walking on hard surfaces!

Extremely comfortable. I forget that I have them on. I normally wear 6.5 (and have a wide foot). Bought these in a 7.

These shoes felt solid and mostly very comfortable except, my toes just did not feel right at the top. I had enough room, but I just did not feel comfort and it was as if I felt my foot pull a bit to pronate inward. I was wanting them to fit badly as they are nice looking and even tho my heel sometimes slips, they did not in these. They were just not quite right for me. With regrets, I am returning and will try another style. Thanks, Zappos, for your really great service and speedy delivery and refunding. You are amazing in the service department!

Compared to other athletic shoes I've had these shoes are a bit roomier overall. I find that they're comfortable and haven't needed any "breaking in" time. I want to be able to wear fairly heavy socks with them and that certainly will work.

Very comfortable shoe. I felt this shoe runs a full size short/small. The width seemed true. The arch support is outstanding. Just a great shoe!

I bought two sizes, as I am never quite sure of the fit. My friend bought the pair that I would have returned. Win, win for both of us!

I love these shoes! Took them to North Carolina and hiked through the woods in mud, over wet rocks, and fallen trees. I did not slip once in these shoes. My feet stayed dry and comfortable on ever hike. These are my new favorite outdoor shoes.

Wonderful, right out of the box. Merrell makes great hiking footwear. This makes my fifth pair of Merrell and I love them! And there is not enough space to write how much I love Zappos!

I purchased these hiking shoes the day before I left for Bryce, Zion, and the Grand Canyon National Parks. The shoes were light weight, extremely comfortable, and provided excellent traction for my trail hiking. I cannot comment on the arch support because I inserted my prescription orthotics. I can honestly report that without the shoes, I would not have been able to traverse the moderate trails as well as I did. I never had to "break them in." Out of the box, they were ready to go.

I was looking for a quality hiking/walking shoe for camping. I've never owned a Merrell shoe but I've always known they have been reviewed as a quality made company. I was nervous about the reviews for the size so I just went with ordering a half size bigger. I'm an 8 women's and ordered the 8.5. So, happy I did. They fit great. No heel slippage and the medium width is just right. Happy camper!

Not all Merrell shoes fit the same! This style was exactly what I've been looking for, a dual-duty walker/hiker that wouldn't be too hot to wear in the summer. I tried 4 other Merrell styles, but this one felt so superior over the others. The footbed feels so much more substantial and supportive. The arch is just right, and the overall cushion isn't firm and thin like some other Merrell hikers. Right out of the box I wore these for 2 weeks straight, working outside all day. Then I took several 4 mile hikes, and my feet are so so happy! They definitely aren't too hot, and you can feel the ventilation. I am a size 7, but order 7.5 in a running shoe, so I got this one in that size and it's perfect! It's also plenty wide for my C-D width foot, even though it comes in "M" width.

I purchased these shoes in a size 10. A half size larger than I usually wear, based on reviews. I purchased the Beluga/lilac. They are a versatile color, I would like if they had added a lot more lilac than they did. They are mostly just dark gray. The fit is absolutely perfect. They seem very roomy in the toe box, which is very comfortable walking. The arch is exactly in the right spt which shows me the size is the correct one. They are very supportive and feel wonderful on my feet. I would recommend these shoes absolutely.

This is probably the most comfortable shoe I have ever put on my feet! I usually wear pretty comfy shoes, but not much compares to these. I have developed a Morton's neuroma in my left foot, I think from wearing Keen sandals. I have to wear really flat, supportive shoes with plenty of toe room. I ordered some Aasics and New Balance and they were uncomfortable and cheap looking/feeling compared to these. The Merrels appear to be made from high quality, soft materials. I ordered a half size up based on other reviews, but I think my regular size would have been fine. I'm keeping these, as they fit well and the little bit of extra toe space means my toes have plenty of room!

Great shoes! I wore them on a 6-mile hike with no issues. They provided great support traversing rocks, as well as going up and down inclines. I had no blisters or any other issues to speak of. And for hiking shoes, they are fairly attractive. :-)
