I took these right out of the box and into my suitcase for a camping trip in the mountains. I wore them all weekend and they were very comfortable. I am thinking about the same shoes in a different color. I have got a winner here!

These hikers are EXTREMELY comfortable, light weight and waterproof. I don't know how Merrell does it, but they just make shoes that are way more comfortable than any other manufacturer. Highly recommend these. Oh, you can also walk the dog in them.

Being hesitant towards online purchasing I wanted a live person. Zappos professionals are most helpful making one sure they will get what they want with no hassles. I mixed up my numbers and originally ordered the hot weather style selection of the same boot. Upon arrival I called Zappos and they right away sent the Gore-Tex boot out with no hassles. Their return procedures are varied to meet your style. I could not be pleased more with my boots and my Zappos. I have very high arches so I automatically use my Birkenstock supports so I have no comment to the boots support since I never wore them without my needed support.

I'm a UPS driver on my feet all day in all weather. This is my third pair. Durable, waterproof and light weight, best footwear I have ever owned.

Boots feel great out of the box, I wear them daily around town and on hikes etc. As mentioned by others a pair of good insoles take these over the top. I've had them submerged almost to the top and the Gore tex works as advertised. I'm not really understanding the complaints about the purple coloration, the pair I received was more brown than purple. All in all great boots.

What a relief! I ordered these to replace the Salomons I had which hurt my feet and didn't track well. I'm so glad I returned to Merrell. I've owned previous versions of this boot, and, like before, this boot delivers! Comfort, traction, styling. Lesson learned. I'll stick to these trusty Moab's from now on.

Great pair of boots, very good materials and construction quality, fit and comfort from the first time worn. Recommend them highly and will purchase another pair when these wear out. Last pair is 5 years old.

I'm a mailman and I use this shoe to keep my feet dry during rain and dew on the grass. Can't wait to try them in the snow. They do get a little warm on hot days. Good comfort. Durable. Wish they had them in all black. I wear size 11 Nike tennis shoes and had to order these at 10.5.

I always buy Ecco or Mephisto, Assolo. For me I went out of my comfort zone, and it paid off big! They are lighter than most tennis shoes. I love the Vibram soles and had to have Gortex. I love these boots, and I love Zappos!

I bought these to wear as work boots and they are great so far. They really are comfortable, even right out of the box, and even after a long day of climbing on roof trusses and walking on freshly sheathed roofs, where your ankles are subjected to awkward angles. I tested the Gore-Tex in a fat muddy puddle after a rainy day on the jobsite and didn't feel a drop in my shoes, but they're breathable enough that my toes don't bake on hot summer days.

This is the third pair of my husband's go-to hiking shoes. Sure he needs a custom orthotic, but their great fit only enhances this shoes performance and comfort. He is a 12W which is a hard shoe size to find in good hiking shoes. They have good grippy soles, true waterproof, stability. For his hiking sake, I hope Merrell never stops making them.

Awesome shoe from day 1. They are totally comfortable. They are perfect for people with wide feet. My orthotics fit in them beautifully. Keep your feet comfortable and dry in wet or snowy weather. Highly recommended.

These Merrell Moabs are very light and well made. I typically wear a 10 4E in most shoes, and the 10 W fits in these Merrills, albeit it's a bit snug. I had to try two pairs of 10 Wides to find a pair that was wide enough -- the sizing isn't consistent from pair to pair. I also added additional padding via an additional insole.

I'd give this a 5-star on comfort, but they took a while longer to break in than I expected and the toe-box is a little stiff. However, I believe that is standard to Gore-Tex and not the shoe. My wife has a pair of Moab Ventilator Lows and does not have this problem, but did experience the same with her Siren Sport Gore-Tex. Overall, these boots are great; sturdier than the Altama's and New Balance Tactical's I wore in the service. I've worn these hiking in CO and hunting here in KS and they perform great. I've found all of the 6 pairs of Merrell's my wife and I own to be consistent in sizing - across several models including my 6-year old Chameleon II's. The toe-box is roomy, but not too big. None of our Merrell's have narrow toe-boxes that squish your feet; the width and length conforms to our feet well. I'm a Merrell fan for life - the only complaint I have is that they're made in China, I'd pay extra to have them made in USA.

This is the third pair of these that I have bought for my husband because he loves them. They provide great support and he likes wearing them with jeans and cargo shorts. He needs arch support too and these provide it.

Extremely comfortable with good arch support and grippy soles. Warm (but not sweaty), even when it's 10 degrees outside. Love the easy lacing system, and the gusseted tongue keeps debris out. So far I've used these for walks in the woods with my dog. I'd recommend these to anyone. I usually take a women's 8 wide, but Merrell doesn't make a Mid GTX boot in women's wide - so I got the mens 7 medium, which works perfectly.

Got these for my husband, who has "Fred Flintstone" feet that are very difficult to fit. He loves them with the first wearing and continues to rave about them.

My super-picky and very rough on shoes husband loves these. He's going on his second season of tough wear with these boots and they still look new. Would definitely buy another pair. Great investment and he says they're really comfortable.

I work outside every day in every weather condition that Northeast Ohio brings. I also enjoy fishing and hunting and these boots can do it all. The boots perform excellent in all of them. I just ordered my second pair of mids and before that I wore out a pair of the lows. I highly suggest the Gore-Tex to anyone who is going to deal with anything from a morning dew to a all out rain or snow storm. My only complaint is wish the dark chocolate colors from the low were available in the mid.

I bought these boots for a difficult 27 mile backpack trip in the late fall. I'm a bigger guy at 6'2, 210, size 13 W and have a rough time finding a boot that fits good. I bought mine at Bass Pro shop last year and it was well worth it. I put some serious rough miles on these and it's like they are invincible. I was the only one on the trip that wasn't complaining about how bad their feet hurt. These rode like Cadillacs though rough terrain and remained dry the entire time. I'm pretty sure the Vibram sole is to thank for this. I've had them for over a year now and there is not a single problem with the boot other than the tread is worn down. I've waterproofed them a few times as you normally should and still have dry feet. I now work for UPS and have to run through snowy yards and slippery porches and these are just great. I saw a bad review on these and was blown away. I'm buying another pair right now.

This is one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I ever owned. Well constructed, and very supportive for the feet. I got the Gore-Tex, knowing I will get the protection from water getting in, but at a price of little ventilation. In warm weather, my feet are sweaty.

As a member of Gore MountainTechs, I have the opportunity to field test GORE-TEX gear in some of the harshest conditions. I purchased these boots many years ago and they have been my go-to boot for backpacking and long day hikes. They have not disappointed. The fit was excellent out of the box, honestly almost no break in period for me. The traction is superb on steep and even loose terrain, but I have had toe pain after long steep descents...probably not the boot's fault though. They're certainly waterproof, no issues there. The only complaint is that after years of use (getting wet, warming by a campfire, etc.) they have shrunk about a half size and now fit very snug. Overall, awesome boot and I'll absolutely be purchasing Merrells again in the future!
