I just got home from wearing this boot all day and I love it. After the foot trauma that was the Hunter high boot (it took my boyfriend and a staircase to get them off - it was almost like they were suction cupped on). The short boot is like a breath of fresh air. I'm hoping in the long run the big price tag with pay for itself (it has to be cheaper than buying $40 every season, right?) - they seem built to last. The color is nice and dark and they look great with jeans and dresses.

I am a female with wide feet and larger calves. I ordered a size down, my feet fit just fine, but there really wasn\'t enough room to tuck in my jeans. I\'m returning these and getting the short gloss in graphite in my regular size.

This is my second pair of Hunters. I buy them primarily to wear during multi-day music festivals like Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN. Given the crowd (80k), the rain, and the porta-potties, there is nothing better than Hunters on your feet. They also go well with shorts!

It's mud season and the dogs rate these a 5 since they still get to go to their usual haunts. Excellent traction, too. I use my orthotics in these for arch support, works fine.

Very comfortable slip-on boot. I have large calf muscles so the short boot is much better fitting than the tall version. Feel as though I should be slogging around the Irish countryside when I wear them.

My initial pair was the Tretorn Strala, but it lasted all of three weeks before I started noticing cracks that sooner or later would compromise its waterproof qualities. Thankfully, Zappos let me return that pair and purchase these remarkable boots instead. So far, they’re serving me well, and I’m finding myself looking forward to wet weather so I can put them on again. (Note: They run big, so I advise ordering a half- to full-size smaller than usual.)

These are a great pair of boots. I wore them through the recent snow storms and they kept my feet nice and dry. There is no insulation in these boots so it\'s very important that you have a nice thick pair of socks to keep your feet warm. They tend to run almost one size big so keep that in mind when ordering (not that big of a deal since Zappos has free shipping both ways).

I ordered my normal shoe size and a size larger due to the review suggestion... I am keeping my size (could actually go half size smaller, but leaving room for heavy sock) and sending the larger one back. They are tight in the calf area, but for me just enough to tuck in my jeans! Only complaint is there are little bubble/markings... but going to keep them! I ordered these late yesterday afternoon and got them at 1pm today! Go Zappos!

I am a guy who purchased these boots because I have wider calves. They fit excellent, and the quality is unreal with these boots. You definitely know you will get your money's worth out of Hunter Boots. I cannot tell you how many compliments I get when I wear these, and how many people stare at them in jealousy. They go great with jeans, but just make sure to wear bootcut. This is a fantastic in rain and snow!

I have always wanted a pair of Hunter Boots and they do not disappoint! I bought the Short Boot because I have larger calves and they are perfect. They are very easy to get on and off and they feel very sturdy! I love them!

I got these boots for my son who\'s a college student. He was tired of all his shoes getting ruined and having the bottoms of his pants wet walking around campus in all the rain we get here. Now his feet and pant legs stay dry!

I love these boots. I live in rainy Seattle, and these are very durable, attractive, and practical. Another reviewer said these were not masculine enough. I disagree. I first read about these boots in GQ magazine, then researched them. I can wear them with jeans over them, and they look basically like dress shoes. Or you can protect your pants and tuck your pant leg inside. Rain boots are not incredibly common on male business professionals (yet), so there may be some bias on their lack of masculinity. In fact, I am wearing them now with dark jeans, and a button-up shirt at the office. I have worn these boots in 3 inches of flowing water, in rocky shallows of a small river (about 6 inches of water) and my feet remained dry. There is not a lot of cushioning if you are going to be doing much walking on hard streets. I am going to go out and look for some kind of extra cushioning, and if the weather gets cold, these are not heavily insulated and your feet will get cold unless you are wearing heavy socks or a liner. I am having trouble finding the Hunter UV Tech Boot Polish in the US, and I've just sent an inquiry to Hunter in the UK, because these are amazing boots, and I would like to keep them for as long as possible. So overall, these are very comfortable, again, unless you are walking around all day or on hard surfaces for an extended period of time. And, they are very stylish, and can be worn with just about anything.

When purchasing Wellies it is well! worth it to spring for the originals. They are simply the best! They are the only option for mucking about in the rain and mud, of which we have had a lot lately, and are easy to get on and off and clean up. The naturally derived rubber is far better than anything manmade. While not cheap, Hunter Wellies will give you years of use and you just might wish for inclement weather just to wear them!

Sleek and functional, but run big! I purchased these for my husband to wear on his walks to work when it rains or snows. We live in Manhattan. These boots are great for him to wear with dress pants, and of course keep his feet incredibly dry. They aren't very insulated, but I'm sure thicker socks would take care of that. He typically wears a US 11.5-12. We originally ordered the US Men's 12 and it was HUGE... exchanged for a US Men's 11, which is still big, but we added an insert for comfort and better fit. Zappos was AMAZING throughout the whole purchase/exchange process... customer service and the speedy shipping are unbeatable!

Delighted Dad - I got these boots to replace an old and beloved pair of Hunter's my father (85) has gardened in for years now, but which split along a seam. We tried a few other brands first, but they were all returned. He held out for another pair of Hunter's-- and who can blame him? I garden in a classic pair myself.

No replacement for Hunter boot really --- nothing truly comparable

My boots arrived today. The light lining makes them easy to slide off and on, and light enough for warmer summer rain conditions. Paired with a heavy winter sock, they will be fabulous for a moderate winter. I typically wear an 8 1/2 and ordered a 9 at first, but that turned out to be too large, and far too wide. As some reviewers stated, the shorter height is much more appropriate with someone like me at a height of 5'4''. The quality of these boots is fantastic, but I may need arch support. The men's Festival short also offers a wider calf, and taller height than the women's version. Enjoy your shopping at Zappos, great Hunter quality is worth every penny.

Best garden boots ever! I am so pleased with my Hunter festival boots! The only thing I wish they had was half sizes. If you are thinking about buying a pair and you are a half size like me be sure to order a half size up. Even though the boots are no longer made in Scotland I still feel they are worth the money. I would also like to add how helpful the Zappos staff has been. I will surely be back again!

These are so hot! I wear a women's size 7-7 1/2 but the smallest size they make in these is a 39, or a US women's 8, but I looked into the fit of these, and unlike other Hunter boots, they don't run as large. I tried on a pair of women's 39s in a store, and they were HUGE, but these fit like the 38s! They're also WAY cuter on my thighs than the women's because I'm only 5'4" and they're shorter. They're only about mid-calf height on me. So hot with minis or shorts!

Hunter makes great wellies, and these are super cool. I like them because they are different from the tall version, and if you have big calves (like me) then these are the way to go! They are more sporty looking, but they are easy to get on and off. You will definitely need good socks or wellies socks because they are not warm. They will keep your feet completely dry though. Good for rain, and cooler temps, but blizzands you should look into warmer boots.

Great, sturdy boot. Fits well under jeans. Has little insulation, so it gets cold quickly in the snow and ice, so buy a size that will allow for double socks or a heavy wool sock.

Seem well made, but NOT deep enough for people with high insteps. Took several minutes to remove each boot.

Cute, Cute, Cute - Loved the boots but they were too big. I bought a 10 (women's) which is what I always wear and my foot was sliding around inside the boot. Had to send it back.

Sadly I just boxed these up as a return; the inside bootstraps occasionally catch each other when I walk and it drives me nuts. I'm sure this isn't a problem for everyone, but beware if your calves/ ankles brush against each other when you walk. I'm likely going to get the womens' version instead - just an outside buckle, no straps, and still unisex-looking.

Seems like it is well made and slides off and on very well. An arched insert is appropriate to add as it helps make them feel less "roomy." However, on the downside they just do not offer enough foot support for the walking necessary in NYC. Though the front and middle part of the foot is snug, the heel rises up loosely with each step (due to a lack of ankle support), and after time I'm afraid the friction will cause major discomfort. I am switching to the Hunter "Original Lace" model and will write a review once I receive them. The laces should give the bottom of the boot more support. These Festivals are also not "masculine" enough for my tastes when seen in person.

I'm in the camp that found these unisex boots to look a little feminine. They do run big; I normally wear a 10 and the 9 was even a smidge large on me...and yet, they looked really dainty. They felt dangerous to walk in for me; the heel was just not wide enough for my taste. While waterproof, they are also thin and cold inside, and I really don't want to wear several pairs of socks. (Thanks to Zappos for taking them back so easily).
