These are awesome shoe for doing any type of functional fitness where you need to do lifting and running combinations. They are super light and ventilated.

Great shoe! Please be careful as F-lites tend to run about a half-size small!

perfect trail shoe for a minimalist runner. extremely flexible, nice and roomy (especially if you remove the insole), light and grippy. this is not your traditional hum-vee trail shoe. but if you are ready to let your feet do the work, pick up a pair!

These shoes are great but they do seem to be a half size larger than marked. This is a change since my first pair which I've had for 2 years. I called the company to see if there was a change in the manufacturing process or location and they said "no" but I don't believe it. Bottom line: great shoes for working out and they are very well made. Might want to consider ordering a size down because they stretch and sized big.

I bought these shoes because I wanted a shoe with barefoot "feel," but with some support, for running agility with my dog on turf. The shoes work well - the soles are flexible, they have good support and they are comfortable. For a better barefoot feel they need to be a little wider in the toe box. I do not like the white (grey) markings on the front of this shoe - it makes them look "nerdy" in my opinion - would be better without markings, or perhaps in a darker color.

Very light and look great. My only complaint is that they are very narrow, for my feet at least.

After all the hype I think I had high hopes for this shoe, if I had not heard anything about it maybe I would like it better. I do think it's great it is always comfortable, but I think maybe better for summer and I am used to an all leather shoe - after all that is said I do really like it for Crossfit and comfort ,

Great look, a bit big on me. Very light great for cross fit. However, had a hard time climbing the rope with them. I couldn't keep a grip on the rope with the shoes. They kept sliding. Maybe it was me...not sure, but never had a problem climbing the rope with my other shoes. Otherwise, they work out well.

These shoes are good for CrossFit and running, but not rope climbing. I had them for all of two weeks, then did a workout with rope climbs. The entire midsole essentially rubbed off on one of the shoes. And I'm usually very diligent about making sure my shoes don't rub on the rope very much. I bought these shoes because I didn't want to have two different types of shoes for CrossFit, but the inov-8s failed at that. Now I still need one pair of shoes for CrossFit and one for rope climbs. Because of this I can't recommend these shoes if you're looking for an all around CrossFit shoe. Either look at other brands or stick to having multiple pairs of shoes for CrossFit.

I tried a few of the inov-8 line, all with the universal fitting for a woman's size 8 wide shoe. All these shoes were so very narrow they were impossible to wear. Beautiful shoe though, just no way it would fit.

Great looking shoes...but... It smelled like they were manufactured in a toxic waste dump. I was shocked really. I don't know if the materials have changed but it was awful. I did try them on and they fit nice but they are very flat and should not be listed as a cross-trainer as they would provide very little support for anything other than running. Had to return them as the smell was still very strong after 24 hours. Surprised by the large number of positive reviews and wonder if the smell from mine was a fluke. As usual Zappos was great.

Excellent service from Zappos, shoes arrived on time and were in perfect condition. I have a pair of F-lite 195's that I use for crossfit and absolutely love, these F 230's have more cushioning but still provide me with feedback during lateral foot movements etc. I would tell everyone to buy these amazingly versatile shoes for working out , because I believe they promote better posture and help strengthen the legs and hips.

I bought this shoe as a crossfit shoe, and I absolutely love it. Even though the heel is a little bit higher than my previous shoes, it's a great versatility shoe that's incredibly light-weight and lets plenty of air in. I started wearing them for daily use, even though I'm probably not supposed to. They are just too comfortable not to.

Great shoes! I love them. I bought these for my husband and he loves them too. We are both big fans. I would recommend ordering a half size smaller than your normal show size. I typically wear a size 10 and the 9.5 shoes are perfect.

These have a very light, flexible, and grippy sole. The cushioning and slight heel rise while slight was still a large transition for me from typical running shoes (Brooks GTS 9/10) so I am still learning pose and building up different strength. The toe box feels narrower than what I am used to so I can only wear thinner socks but I guess that is in line with barefoot running. I am knocking off a star because all-black (which was on sale) just does not look quite right for running shoes. I find these to be great shoes for walking around in. They have good ventilation. My only beef is that the eyelets could use a bit more stiffness behind them. If I just lazily pull up the tongue and lace up, I can create binds in the fabric that dig into my feet.

These are the best all around shoes I've ever owned. I've used many different brands and lately I've tried a few different minimalist shoes to include the New Balance, Merrell trail gloves, and vivobarefoot neo trails but the inov-8s trump all others by far for me. I am extremely athletic and I do just about everything from heavy lifting, to sprints, to distance running and I love these shoes. With sprints especially I can really get some good speed and explosion with them as well as box jumps. They fit like a glove and they don't have too much arch support like most shoes do nowadays.

I am currently in the middle of the Insanity workouts and was having joint pains while wearing my favorite Asics. I researched online and came across this shoe with rave reviews from Insanity people and Crossfitters. I decided to take the plunge and buy a new cross training shoe. I must say, this is the best purchase I've made on Zappos! My joint aches/pains have disappeared! I have started using them for my runs, they are so comfortable! I don't think they are the most attractive shoe (not the prettiest color combos), but when you're working out, attractiveness is not a priority!

I love this shoe, and knew what I was getting into when I got it...the description is minimal and that is 100% true. There is almost no arch support so if you have any arch issues, make sure you have a good set of insoles. I bought a set from The Good Feet Store and ran 2 miles in them 15 minutes later with no foot-pain at all. They make for a great shoe to walk around in all day, also.

The inov-8 F-lite 230 line is great. They are a top pick among CrossFitters like myself as they are super light and comfortable and enable you to cross-train very effectively. The lack of arch support is something many athletes are moving towards and for pretty much all activities (except long runs), the lack of arch support is great. I found the blue version of this shoe to be a bit narrower than the black version I bought, but both fit well and are easy to break in.

These shoes are great! I own the 230, 195, 233 road x, along with the bare x lite 155. Recommendation for those of you who are going through them within three to four months. Take into consideration that it being a minimalist shoe with hardly any cushion it will wear out faster. It's more of a flat then an everyday shoe. Now I wear mine 24/7 and love them. I've had one pair for 6 months now and it still isn't completely worn out.

Bought for Crossfit. Great shoe for all exercises. Discovered I love to run in these. Unusually comfortable. Bought another pair and one for my wife! Had to adjust to shoes as running shoe and work up to normal mileage. Few weeks of slight sore calfskin, but I was running in a very full support Nike shoe with lots of cushion.
