These shoes are made of such a stiff material, that it felt like I had my feet cast in plaster. And, as ridiculous as it seems, the shoe strings are not long enough to even tie into a bow! What is up with that?

I hoped this beige shoe would look better than sneakers for a trip to Chicago, but it screams "old lady orthopedic" to me. Although I added Copper Superfeet for extra cushioning and arch support, pounding the pavement still took its toll on my feet, so I had to stop and sit every hour. On the positive side, here is plenty of room in the toe box even in a narrow width.

This shoe toe box is generous, but the instep is very short. I ended up with top of foot pain after wearing this shoe for a couple of days. I do have flat feet, and I walk toes out...so maybe that is the reason why this shoe was so uncomfortable. Took me a week to recover from the pain. Went with the New Balance 840 Running Shoe. Also, there are no holes, for breathing, so the shoe gets really hot and feet wet and stinky.

I wish Brooks would make an Addition Walker for people with high arches who do not overpronate. I wish Brook's would make a dress shoe. I've worn Brook's Walker's for 10 years since they are so comfortable for walking with my wide feet and narrow heels; however Brook's shoes are not structured safely for someone like me who has a neutral foot and does not overpronate. The shoe pushes the foot outward and causes me to roll my foot outward resulting in 4 ankle sprains this year. I'm looking elsewhere but Brooks makes good shoes.

This shoe is very narrow. It is however lightweight and fairly comfortable. I do think I will stick with New Balance in the future.

It's difficult to rate this shoe fairly because it is designed for people who pronate badly and have flat feet, according to my conversation with a representative from the Brooks Company. That information is not on Zappos website so they didn't realize it was the wrong shoe for me. It hurt my feet, knee and created shin splints. I pronate some and have a normal arch so problems were created by an incorrect shoe. It is probably a good shoe for the right feet. Zappos credited my account for the shoes and couldn't have been more helpful or eager to make everything right. Hard to find customer service like this these days.

I first ordered my regular size and sent back, too tight. I ordered a 1/2 size larger and wide and they are still snug. Good support, but in mid afternoon I want them off. For the price and brand I expected more, I will go back to New Balance next time.

For me, these are prescription shoes. I hate having to wear them but their pronation control really works. I feel much better when I do wear them and am just glad I could get them in black.

Not an attractive shoe by any means. Appeared to run about 1/2 size small.

Size was fine but pad very uncomfortable just standing felt like pebbles all over the bottom of my foot.

Bummed out here! Previously returned the same shoe, 8 wide but white with Velcro closures. I couldn’t get them tight enough with the Velcro so I ordered these, 8 wide, in bone. The Velcro ones fit ok, just a bit loose with the Velcro. This pair with laces: left shoe is larger in the back than the right shoe; the right shoe is sewn very sloppily. The tongues on both shoes seem a bit crooked, ie not sewn in correctly. Both shoes seem to be about 1/2 size smaller than marked ( the Velcro ones, same size 8 wide, is exactly the same except for Velcro instead of laces, and they were ok except I couldn’t get them tight enough). Will be returning but now not sure if I will re- order this shoe. I didn’t want black ones.

Nope. Based on the reviews, I was prepared to add these to my collection of Brooks sneakers, the brand that works best for my narrow, arthritic old feet, which need both support and lots of cushioning. I wanted black to wear with pants and skirts, and I prefer leather to synthetic fabric. I was disappointed to find that the women's size 11, my usual size, was too short, that the shoes seemed to weigh a ton and made my feet feel imprisoned, that the high back hurt my Achilles area and -- worst -- that the footbed felt hard and unforgiving. Returned them and ordered the black Adrenaline GTS 19, which are lighter in both appearance and weight. To be sure of enough toe room, I ordered an 11.5 and they are perfect, with the addition of a small supportive insert. This very old lady just walked two miles in them without a twinge.

This shoe feels super comfortable. The only problem with this shoe is that it only last 3 months as well before the padding and the fabric starts to tear. I only give it 2 stars because even though it's a great shoe the value is horrible.

These fit weird. I normally wear a 9 regular and got these in a 9 wide. Still they were hard to get on and my foot felt pinched. I need a wide toe box and this does not have that. I was hopeful for a comfortable walking shoe but this does not work for me.

These are so stiff and high I could not get my foot in to try it on. When one has giant feet- 12N- one needs a wide enough aperture for the feet to enter

I could not even get my 12N foot into the shoe to try it on- that's how tight the opening was.

These shoes did not fit my feet. I've worn this brand before but they were too wide in the toe box and my foot slipped around.

I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED. I have worn these shoes pair after pair for many years. They have changed. For me they no longer fit and are no longer comfortable.. Why didn't they leave a great shoe alone? I returned them.

This is one of the ugliest shoes I've ever tried on. Even if it felt slightly comfortable, it would kill my morale and I know I would never wear them. Clown shoes for sure. s

I was so excited to find this shoe so I was very disappointed with the fit. I need a walking shoe with good support and thought this was it. At first I was thrilled with the arch support and the fit felt great, nice and roomy in the toes. But walking around my house with them was painful. The side was so firm that it rubbed my toes and the tongue was so thick and hard it rubbed against my leg as I walked. I didn't expect that at all! I had to return them. Sorely disappointed.
