These are very comfortable shoes for me. I have bone spurs, hallux limits and now have been diagnosed with tarsal tunnel. They fit my orthotics. I went up a half size because of bone spurs on big toe. They aren't the prettiest shoe however at 60 years old and still active I don't care so much about what they look like just how they feel! I just try not to look at them too much! Worth the money, have always bought New Balance but Brooks fit me better now.

I am an over pronator that has constant foot pain even with custom orthotics. I ordered the Brooks Addiction Walker and with my orthotics I no longer have any pain. I own a dog boarding kennel and I am on my feet on a concrete floor seven days a week and life is much better now.

With wide feet, cranky arches and bone spurs that needed accommodating, these shoes fit the bill. I had to make the following adjustments - remove the inserts (which were just okay) and replace them with excellent inserts, and lace them to counteract the inevitable heel slippage that no manufacturer on the face of the planet seems to get right in women's shoes. They are very sturdy, and have higher heels than most walkers, so your dress pants do not end up dragging on the ground during the commute to work. And I call them my birth control shoes, because they are so ugly, no romance could possible occur while wearing them. But my feet do not hurt!

A superior walking shoe. (Believe me, I've done the work.) Chronic plantar tendon inflammation, neuroma and shredded meniscus....a walking/fitness wreck. These walkers are my "go to" for comfort and reliable stability. The toe box is generous. I love these shoes. Not very fashionable, they're a lot of shoe, but they do the trick all day long.

Not pretty, but I work 12 hour shifts as an RN, in an ER, and these hold up better than anything else. With the Orthaheel Active insert, I can run on cement all day and still be without foot pain on my way to the car. I also find they wear out more slowly than some of the other sneakers, making the price more reasonable. Just ordering a 3rd pair.

I needed a sturdy comfortable shoe because I have a ruptured posterior tibial tendon in my left foot and have to wear a small molded brace. Thus I had to order two pairs-one size 9 1/2M and one size 11W. They are very sturdy but extremely comfortable and I will be ordering another color in the spring time. I just wish that you had a plan for a person like me where you could some how buy just the 2 shoes that you need instead of having to buy two pairs,or giving a discount on the second pair. But I will say that Zappos is very reliable and has excellent customer service. I encountered a very nice young gentleman that assisted me in picking the particular shoes. THANK YOU ZAPPOS

These shoes are very comfortable! I usually wear custom orthotics (fallen arches and plantar fascia) but do not have to with the Brooks Addiction. I am so thankful for Zappos return policy. I ordered these shoes 5 times before finding the right size. I never have to order wide width. Here's my advice, order 1/2 size up for B width, or a 1/2 size down for wide width! Hands down, way more comfortable than the Vionic/Orthaheel tennis shoe.

Love these shoes. I walk and stand a lot during the day. These shoes are exactly what I needed. They are very comfy too. Wish I would have bought them sooner.

Love these shoes. They have good cushioning on the bottom and good arch support. I am able to use them with custom orthotics.

I have only been comfortable, for the past five years, in New Balance. I ordered the Brooks Walker because I needed a solid black shoe and I was very pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they are. I have a lot of arthritis and discomfort in my feet but was able to walk for hours in these shoes with complete comfort.

Although very ugly, they are extremely comfortable! I'm overweight, need an ankle replacement, have flat, painful feet. But with these shoes I was able to walk on a 10 day New England tour! As long as I wear long pants to cover them, these will be the best shoes I've found to provide support and cushion. Believe me, I have tried a lot of shoes!

I needed comfortable walking shoes that did not look too orthopedic. The Brooks addiction had this bone color and also my size 11½N size so I gave it a try. These are extremely comfortable. The extra height of my orthodic caused some rubbing on top area of left shoe, so took them out, comfortable innersole was a good substitute and it made my feet lower so there is no soreness at all now.

I bought these for my wife and I have not had one complaint! That is the best testimonial you will ever get.

The first time I tried brooks, I like them better than New Balance. I am on my feet a lot and like to walk for fitness. I am 65 yrs old and find these very supportive and well fitting...time will tell they wear well. As always Zappos is the best!

Excellent comfortable shoes. Angle and arch support. Size fits just right. I bought 2 sizes, and with Zappos easy returns, I am sending back the pair that didn't fit. Great shoes, great experience!

I purchased the Addiction. It has been the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned. I would recommend this shoe to anyone who has feet problems, especially flat feet. My only wish is the laces were longer. I absolutely love this shoe.

I purchased the Brooks Addiction. It is the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned. My only wish is the laces were longer. My foot is somewhat swollen, and I cant tie the shoes around my foot. If you want a pair of shoes that you can wear all day, this is it. Zappos you are great!

I have finally gotten to that age where I HAD to have a sturdy walking shoe with leather and not some flimsy mesh that was holding my foot in place. This shoe fits perfectly! I normally wear a 9 1/2 and that's what I ordered. It's a wonderful shoe that I could put my pro-kinetic insoles in and have the foot support I needed! Yes I would and HAVE recommended these to lots of friends and family.

Love these shoes! My heels still hurt after awhile at the hospital but I just started up again so I think its more of getting used to being on my feet and not the shoes. These support my arches and ankles and I love the way they look with the scrubs they remind me of cheerleading shoes. Great purchase.

I have just returned to the Brooks Addiction Walker after using New Balance 1012's for last couple of years (I stocked up on them when I knew they were changing the design). When Brooks changed this shoe a couple of years ago it was too narrow in the toe box for me so I went over to New Balance's 1012. However, New Balance changed their 1012 to the 1340 (two versions have since come out of the 1340 as they are saying they are getting back to the much loved support of the 1012, which they haven't succeeding in doing yet, in my opinion). The first version of the 1340 was too narrow in the toe box for me, and the second version which has just come out, while having the wider toe box didn't have the support I needed on the bottom of the shoe. The bottom of my feet were sore after an hour of wearing them so back they went. So, I have returned to this shoe, but went from my usual medium width to the wide width, and while not as good fitting as prior to them changing the shoe a couple of years ago, it seems like it will work for me. I have flat feet and sever over- pronation so finding a good shoe is difficult for me as I have also had several foot surgeries. Think I will try out Brook's Ariel as living in Texas my feet will probably get hot in these all leather shoes. Will keep these for cooler weather, and walking on the beach when on vacation where sand gets into a mesh upper shoe and can drive you crazy, and until I can find a good mesh upper shoe that works for me when weather is hot. Tried Omni Saucony and other styles of New Balance, but looks like I'll be coming back to Brooks. Since I'm overweight and have pronation problems I need a good shoe under my feet. Also helps a lot with my lower back pain, hip pain, and neck pain as I've had 6 back surgeries. One's entire spine needs to be aligned correctly to take pressure off of it and watching one's posture is a must! Is not a cheap shoe but is worth it to feel better and have less pain.

I love these shoes and they are even more comfortable and supportive than my long-time SAS shoes. They are wide wide enough to not pinch in WW. And they are wider than WW in Propet. Though they are not pretty, they really help my poor feet that have so many problems.

As a chronic sufferer of osteoarthritis who has already had 3 surgeries in one foot and faces 3 more fusions in my foot within the next year, comfort and function is paramount. Brooks sneakers are the only sneakers that I wear; the cushioning and arch support are fantastic compared to others on the market. My orthopedic, doctor-prescribed carbon stability sole fits seamlessly under the footpad of my right foot, and I can walk in these sneakers all day! Thank you, Brooks, for helping me walk well, especially after surgery!

I was looking for a walking shoe that had some moisture resistance as I often hit patches of dewy grass on my walk. I had already purchased some Brooks Addiction 11 with mesh that were great for hot city walks. But I wanted something more for pasture walks (I live in the country) so figured stick with Brooks. I was not disappointed. These leather shoes are perfect for my use and I wipe them off when I return from my walk and they look good as new. I live in the country in rugged terrain and I know these are probably designed for walking city streets and paths but they do a respectable job cross country as well. Furthermore I can continue wearing them all day as they are more like shoes than specialized athletic footwear. So for me a good all around choice!
