Nice comfortable shoe - I usually have a very difficult time finding shoes that fit properly. I have high arches and my left foot is wider than my right. In addition, I practically live in sneakers, so it's critical that they be comfortable. These support my arches quite well and they are roomy enough width-wise so that my left foot isn't feeling squished.

Brooks Addiction Walker - superior support - For someone who needs superior support in a shoe which can accommodate orthotics, this shoe is excellent. It's all I've worn for the last five years. I have yet to find another shoe which offers the same support, and I've tried many.

Happy Feet In Portland!!! These are wonderful for those feet who need that extra ahhhh!!! They do seem to run half size smaller though so order up. Thank you Zappos, the shoes got here so fast. I think the UPS driver had flames shooting out from under his feet!!!

Brooks has it all! I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis 13 years ago and subsequently suffered damage to the tendons in my foot. The stability of the Brooks shoe and the high collar around the ankle enabled me to walk and maintain my balance. Orthotics had not been able to do this for me. The neutral color offered this year is also a plus. The roomy toe box is very comfortable.

WOW - I am an eighty-year-elder female type and have worn New Balance for years. Tried the Brooks Addiction and it is well named. The looks got me first, but the absolute comfort is tops. Zappos upgraded the order and it arrived much sooner than expected. 5 stars to Brooks. 5 stars to Zappos. Jeanne from Colorado

Great for standing all day - This is the first pair of Brooks I have bought and they are so comfortable and supportive. I stand on my feet 8 to 10 hours per day and they are great. I used to always wear New Balance, but after reading the reviews on this shoe, I bought it. Glad I did!

The only walking shoe - This leather walker is the only walking shoe I have found that fits my foot and gives me stability on any surface. I was thrilled to see that it has more tread on the bottom than previous models. I wear this shoe for hiking, walking, and general purpose. It fits pretty true to size and I wear an 11 2A which is hard to find.

Best shoe for my feet - I was glad to see a new color for the Brooks Addiction. This new version fits just as well as the old ones. These are the only shoes I can wear all day. I have problem feet with arthritis and bunions. This shoe has such good arch support I don't have to put in an insert. The XX wide accommodates my bunions. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't get these shoes.

Fit perfectly. They are great shoes for flat footers who have to walk and/or stand a lot. Boy, they are ugly. But they get me through many miles a day. And unlike other shoes I've worn, they also provide a lot of comfort when standing for several hours.

I purchased these because I had worn out a pair of Brooks Ariel and I wanted walking shoes. The medial stability is consistent. The shoes are heavy but it is winter and that's fine. I bought a 1/2 size up from my normal (as I had done for the Ariel) and the shoe fits well with medium-thick socks. No issues with my heel slipping out as occurs with some leather walkers in wide. Glad that I had them quickly from this supplier as I needed for last-minute travel.

I'm subject to overpronation, and my feet tire quickly without supportive shoes. The minute I slip on addition walkers, my feet are relieved and I can go on with my activities no matter how tired my feet were before. Not pretty, but I've seen worse. My only beef is that there's no ventilation, which results in hot, wet feet. Consequently, I take off my shoes every few hours to dry out my socks and feet.

I have problem feet and have been shopping for comfortable shoes forever. I ordered the Brooks Addiction Walker after seeing them recommended on an orthopedic website. They aren't very stylish, and a bit clunky looking but they keep my feet from hurting which is more important to me than looking snappy. The only problem is they squeak terribly. I'm hoping as I wear them more that the noise goes away because it's very annoying to the point I'm afraid I'll have to return them if it doesn't. Other than that, it's a great shoe for people with flat feet, bunions, arthritis etc.

I have wide forefoot and narrow heel - although these shoes felt like heaven, the heels slipped up and down on me. Drats! I really wanted / needed these! For most, these would be perfect. It's hard to get wider forefoot / narrow heel shoes.

I needed relief from significant ankle pain caused by severe overpronation. These sneakers provide TRULY excellent support. I can now walk easily for hours on end, use the elliptical at the gym for as long as I like and lift weights in total comfort. They are SO supportive that I haven't even had to insert my custom orthotics to increase arch support. Buyers should be aware, however, that the shoe is heavily padded, thick-soled, a bit clunky and fits snugly (even with my narrow feet). It's not a cutesy sneaker available in trendy colors, but the performance level definitely outshines it's lackluster appearance.

This is a very good shoe in the toe box area but the ankle area is too wide for me. I would love to find some sneakers that understand that just because your toes need a little more width does NOT mean you have big ankles. My ankles are average width.

NOT SLIP RESISTANT. I bought these shoes for restaurant work. I have plantar faciitis and bursitis. They're very comfortable but I only wore them once since the first day I wore them to work I slipped and fell pretty bad. I don't recommend these shoes for their slip resistance at all. Otherwise, they are comfortable.

With plantar fasciitis, hammertoes and old age, this is really the only shoe I can wear and walk in comfort. I get tired of it and try something else now and then. Doesn't work. Best support shoe ever.

These are nice but way too loose and big in the heel. They are good and wide enough in the front. I have bunions so I need the wide. These shoes could be fine for people without these issues.

This model seems a lot stiffer than the cloth Addictions of which I own several pairs. I got this one thinking it would be a good change, and look slightly less sporty, which it does. But the sole does not seem as flexible and so it's not as comfortable. It also seems to need a bit of breaking in. Still, it's wide enough to accommodate my wide feet with bunions, and gives good support.

I've been disappointed with this shoe because the material in the sole is soft on the outside of the heel, while being quite firm on the inside of the sole. Thus, my foot rolls over to the outside. I thought I was buying a flat bottomed shoe with good support so that my heels don't roll over, but not so.

Not as great as I thought it would be. You might have to break them in maybe with 2 days wear. You will have to play with the shoelaces for a better fit. But overall good if you need a sturdy shoe.

I think it would have been a good all round shoe except that it's too narrow through the toes for me, and I don't usually take a wide shoe. I'm going to reorder and try the wide.

I tried a variety of footbeds in these, and they just never quite seemed right, which is surprising since I had been a Brooks runner for years until the plantar fasciitis flareup. I guess the thing that finally decided it was when my daughter saw me walking around my dressing room in them and "nice old lady shoes!" So that was the end of that.

These shoes are great for walking. I have heel spurs and walk about 2 miles/day and couldn't walk anymore without pain. Got these shoes and could walk fine. They are, however, extremely ugly! They look like old person shoes!
