Perfect boot! This is a great boot. Can be worn when the weather is a little wet or there is a little snow and my son does not need a whole snow boot. He has worn them dressy with cords and casual with jeans. He has received lots of compliments. They are very warm and perfect for his needs!

Great kids shoe boot - My 6 year old son loves these boots. He says they are very comfortable.

We love these boots. The quality is excellent. They're warm and sturdy. I buy them for my son and then my daughter (who is 2 years younger) uses them a season or two later. My only complaint with this particular Keen shoe is that it does run small. In other brands, my kids are a full size smaller than they are in the Keen Kootenay. Otherwise, great boot!

Love the look of this shoe/boot. You can wear this with casual or dressier wear. Constructed very well and keeps the feet warm in cold weather. Also the big plus is no shoe strings.

Bought this boot for myself for icy days we get here in North Texas. I am a size 7.5 medium women and the shoes fit perfectly in length. They are a bit loose around the ankle but I tried them on without a sock. Nicely lined. Easy on and off. Feels like a sturdy little shoe for my rough weather days.

I am a grown girl with very wide feet, and sometimes I opt for a size 5 or 6 in boys shoes because they tend to make them a little wider. These are very good shoes if you have wide feet. I originally chose them for the velcro closure, because I travel often and like the ease of getting shoes on and off at the airport. At the same time, I was looking for a shoe that was fleecy all the way through, because my feet get chilly on airplanes. These are only fleecy around the cuffs, so I opted for the Amiana Black Velvet wrestling style shoe.

Cool shoe for my kid, but sized way off. Go almost two sizes bigger. He wears size 3 in athletic shoes but need a size 5 in this boot. Still a nice winter shoe for the kid.

Excellent easy-on boot! Great tread, decent looking in brown, very comfy right away from the box. I am a grown woman but tend to prefer weekend boots made for big kids because they are wider and more rugged. I usually wear a youth size 4, but in this boot I sent the 4 back and the 5 fits perfectly. Shoe is very wide, like most Keens. Toe rubber cap is great protection but makes it necessary to buy the bigger size, as it pushes down a bit on the toe tops. Fleecy lining is not overly puffy but feels good on the ankle. Velcro does grip firmly to keep shoe exactly as I adjust it. Great value for support and traction for walks in the hills.

I really want to love these boots--they're comfortable, and my 7yo can run around in them all day. But there are two problems: First, from the very beginning the velcro closure hasn't stayed closed particularly well. At first we thought it was user error--that my son wasn't tucking in the tongue well enough--but even when I do it now, it still pops back open after a few steps. I think the tongue is too padded for the strap to pull across tightly enough. The other issue is with the quality: The faux shearling around the ankle is wearing away, after just six weeks, and there are loose threads in the stitching on the strap across the tongue. I'm disappointed. All the other reviews have been raves, so maybe we just got a defective pair.

Adorable boot but runs WAY small. I have had exchange 2 times now.:( Still buying one just 2 sizes bigger.

These kept my son warm however he complained that these are funny looking and felt embarrassed to wear them. He wore them because that's the only shoe he brought up to the mountains. I guess I'll look for a better looking shoe next time.

I order these every year and have loved them due to comfort, ease of getting them on and off, and keeping my kids feet warm, but am disappointed in the pair I just ordered. The leather is much stiffer and my son can't get them on. They used to be made of a softer leather, but these feel plastic and hard. I think they are treated to make them more water resistant, and it really affects the feel, comfort and fit of the shoe. Sending them back. :-(

My daughter said these were uncomfortable, particularly in the heels. They do not have sheepskin throughout, just around the ankle, so there is drop off where her heel was exposed to chafing in the back. And her skin did feel a little raw, even under her socks with them after wearing them for 2 weeks. Although they did look warm, this was a real problem. She will not wear them now. If you have a child with a bony thin heel this is not the shoe for him/her.

They seemed like a great idea for a 5 year old to wear in cold weather and they appeared to fit true to size and comfortably. BEWARE! I DO NOT recommend them being worn inside on carpet. The toe tip caught on the carpeted stairs and my grandson fell down 12 steps into a railing and required 10 stitches right above his eye. Barely worn, we threw them out fearing that if we gave them to a friend's child, the same thing might occur.
