I'm 58 years old, done most stuff. These are the best shoes I've ever worn. They are xxw, maybe that's why. You cant get them everywhere. Go with a size wider than you think you need. Two years now, heavy use, just starting to come un-glued.

I purchased these a year ago. I wear these everyday, and I think they are very comfortable. I only wish the treads were a little more aggressive, which makes them less than ideal in snowy or icy conditions.

The most comfortable daily wear walking\/light hiking boots I have ever owned. This is my second pair. Lasted over a year in daily wearing. I especially like the large toe box.

This is the second pair of these my husband has owned, he wore the soles off the first. He walks the dogs every morning rain, snow, or shine and he really likes these shoes.

The New Balance MW977 shoes are the best, most comfortable shoes I've ever worn! They are made very well. I was very happy to see that they come in wide sizes. A great shoe for people with swollen feet, as they are easy to slip into. Zappos is a pleasure to do business with. Purchases are always smooth and easy. Returns are simple. I will definitely be a repeat customer. I highly recommend Zappos.

Looking for a new pair of lightweight hiking shoe/boots - my 2 1/2 year NB country walkers were done in so I thought I'd give these NB MW977's a try. Ordered them a 1/2 size larger 12 EEEE than normal 11 1/2 EEEE because of reviews posted here. With lightweight crew socks they are a bit loose when the weather gets cooler and I go to heavyweight socks there should still be plenty of room. I'm not fond of the higher ankle height and had some chafing on my left ankle but it softened after 4-5 days walking. I do 5-6 miles a day over mostly flat terrain. Have had them three weeks and they're comfortable. The only question now is how well they hold up. This has been my third purchase from Zappos and I can't say enough about their quick service.

My husband loves these, this is his second pair. It's hard to find shoes wide enough for his feet and these are great.

True to size. Very comfortable! Break in time about 3 days. Great for those mornings when there is a heavy dew.

Alright, I am bored of reading reviews written about Zappos so I will talk only about this shoe. \r\n\r\nAbsolutely Fantastic Shoe I have ever bought. Looks great and fits perfect. I am a severe pronator but this shoe fits my feet perfectly. Arch support is very little (thats just me) so I use external arch inserts. I walk a lot at work and I can feel the difference in my energy levels. \r\n\r\nHighly Recommended product!

I am extremely happy with these shoes. Fit like a glove and feel like I just got a new Lexus for my feet. I am not a serious hiker, just needed something for walking the dog in woods during the four New England seasons. As it turns out I now do about 4-5 miles a day and enjoy it each time rain, snow, cold whatever.

Really great for walking. Waterproof and very comfortable. Look nice too. Have used them mostly for city walking, especially on rainy days. Probably great for hiking too.

Comfy right out of the box. I've had other NB and they run about 1/2 size small. I usually order 10 1/2, but these I ordered 11 4E and they are just right.

These run narrow, so get a wider size if you need one. I use these on the farm and garden. Very comfortable and wear well. Waterproof and stand up to being sprayed with DEET daily to repel cigers and ticks. The quick lace eyelets are a little wide and do not hold the laces while putting the shoes on. Will probably narrow with some pliers. All said, I really like these shoes and have another pair of New Balance that I like equally well for town wear.

The best and most comfortable shoe I ever owned. They are definitely water proof, with all the rain we are getting in New York I wear them all the time.

Absolutely outstanding service! These shoes look and fit exactly as shown on the site. Have not yet hiked in them, but expect the same experience. They're comfortable even now, a brief time in the break-in process.

I buy from Zappos.com because of their superior customer service. Their customer support staff sets the standard for customer service, in my opinion. I have very wide feet and it is difficult to find shoes in my size if I take the time to go to a retail store. I love the fast delivery and the fact that I can exchange the shoes right away if they are not the right fit. I have NEVER been disappointed. The boots that I purchased fit perfectly. I was expecting a lower cut boot based on the picture but was happy to find out that it was a higher cut. New Balance is the only brand of athletic shoes that I buy and I was very pleased to learn that they offered boots as well. I would highly recommend Zappos.com to anyone.

I bought these shoes for work. I had a pair of the 749's prior to this pair that lasted a good 2 years. I wanted to find a comparable shoe that was waterproof and a little more rugged. This is a great durable waterproof shoe that is comfortable. When it is warm my feet do tend to sweat in these shoes though. I assume it is because they are sealed so well from the waterproofing. The price point is a little high, but the material and technology is more advanced. My only concern is that I should have went with a lower top version of this. Happy with my purchase though!

These boots are incredibly comfortable, solid for hiking support, but not heavy at all, waterproof (really) and they - look - great! I cannot imagine what more you could ask for in a hiking boot.

I have been wearing this shoe and prior versions for about 3 years. I have diabetic neuropathy and these are one of only two New Balance shoes that are always comfortable on my feet. Also, the neutral toned down colors are much better than the more gaudy designs.

Great purchase! Very comfortable. I have wide feet and the 4E's were a perfect fit. Look good too.

New Balance does it again! Perfect for being out in the cold. Feet will be dry and warm. To my astonishment, these shoes do not make your feet too warm either, just total comfort. Maybe it is the Goretex.

Received my 977s from Zappos over night, and immediately put them on. They fit like a glove and decided to wear in the house to see if they needed any breaking in. On the morning of the second day, they were very comfortable and support both arch and ankle very well. Later walked in the driving cold rain and they kept my feet very warm and dry! I could imagine that for trail walking, they would be the same and can’t wait to hit my favorite trails. I highly recommend this shoe to anyone and even as a second pair for heavy trail walking. Light, comfortable, and extremely well made with a lot of attention paid to quality. I could not be happier and this is my third New Balance walking shoe.

I bought my NB 977's for protection against cold and wet weather, and possibly a small amount of snow when I travel. I have a tough time getting sized because my right foot is bigger than my left. I found New Balance shoes at 9.5 4E to be the answer. The 977s were very comfortable right out of the box and warm and waterproof, as well. A great shoe sold by a great company. I am a huge fan of Zappos due to their free shipping and returns and the speed with which they work.

These boots fit perfectly as do the same sized New Balance running shoes. He has very wide flat feet - hard to fit. The boots are very comfortable, warm and they look great.
