A chic alternative to athletic shoes. I walk a great deal around the town where I live, and also when traveling to other cities. Yesterday I walked about 4 miles on sidewalks, and my feet were comfortable all the way home. There is ample cushioning in the insole, and the nice soft suede is forgiving. I did have to add a cushioned pad to the heel to prevent the upper edge of the shoe from rubbing against the lower edge of my ankle bones. Bella will definitely be going with me on my next trips to New York and London.

My pair of black on black just arrived and they were indeed comfy right out of the box! This is just what I was looking for: the perfect combination of Anne Klein style and Keen comfort and utility. I usually wear a 7 but based on the other reviews I ordered the 7-1/2 and it's perfect. I wish they had a tad bit more arch support, but they feel very comfortable and supportive. Just the thing for my trip to Europe this spring. I plan to war them with pants and dresses while negotiating cobblestone streets. I want to bring just one carry-on bag so these and one pair of walking shoes will be all I'll be packing. Great find! One word of warning: out of the box, the black soles leave marks on floors. Hopefully that will change with wearing.

This is one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes that I own! Though I usually wear heels/pumps, and this is the first pair of Aras that I have bought, I often wear these to work on Fridays, plus on weekends. I will also wear them to travel where lots of walking is required (such as in airports). They provide great support, while still being cute! They are classy with dress slacks, yet still fun with jeans. Buy one size smaller--I wear an 8½, and an 8 was perfect! They are well worth the money.

These shoes were great looking. They are beautiful leather, and the stitching around the toe was a nice touch. I have a high arch, and they grabbed a little at the top of the vamp for me, and I was worried that a full day of wearing them would be yield a painful mark, so they had to go back.

I’m keeping these shoes, but I know they need to be broken in. They are a bit stiff and rub a bit just above the inside arch but that will should soften with wear. They are just a “scooch” wider than most my shoes but not enough to make a big difference. Perfect length- size 9.

A very nice looking shoe but the top of the shoe ran to high for me and was uncomfortable.

These shoes were a bit odd. The sides are quite high, i.e. the shoe is deep, such that my outside ankle bone rubbed against the top of the shoe. They are attractive but I am returning them.

Almost the perfect ballet flat, and it's the one I reach for most often. There are a couple of reasons it doesn't get 5 stars: as mentioned below, it has only moderate arch support (which is still amazing for a ballet flat), and the insole on one shoe has come unglued - not a deal breaker. I recommend it highly.

This shoe satisfies many purposes, from everyday work or walking shoe to dressy flat. After many wearings, the bow does not stay tied, but it can be retied easily.

These are lovely shoes; soft, flexible sole, great padding inside, and well made but, boy, are they wide. They are supposed to be medium, but they gapped all around my foot.

The color is fortunately, much prettier in person (sort of a silvery hue) and goes with a lot of things. I have pain in the ball of my foot and have trouble finding comfortable shoes. These were out of the box comfortable and I wore them several times with no problems. On about the 5th time I wore them (always with no socks/tights), i developed a blister on the outside ankle from where shoe rubbed. Agree with others that the sides of show seem to be higher than most shoes. Still, would consider buying another era shoe (different style).

Really wanted to be able to keep these shoes. I ordered the UK size 5, as i am normally a 7.5 in flats. They were big enough almost to walk out of them. Went down to the 4.5 UK, and they were tight in width and toe box. Too bad i have to return, because they have the ballet style look that i wanted but with better arch support.

Not quite cute enough, kind of looks like something my mother would like. Also runs a little short.

Fabulous quick delivery and customer service from Zappos. In the photo the body of this shoe looks creme and gray. In reality the body color is more bronze/black. Cute shoe on and off foot. The footbed is very comfortable. But it is cut high around the ankle and rubs uncomfortably on this bone. This isn't usually an issue for me, so I concluded this shoe does have have a "tall" height cut from heel to below the ankle bone. Unfortunately I'll be returning them.

I normally wear a size 8½ Medium. I had to return this size. I ordered a size 8 and this had to be returned. This shoe is extremely larger than the norm! I would not recommend this style if you are looking for a shoe with a good fit. Sorry that I cannot rate the comfort being that this style has large gaps and falls off the foot. It is great that Zappos has such a great return policy.

This is the first pair of Ara shoes I purchased and everyone raved about the fit and comfort. I wear athletic shoes everyday, and like a wide toe box. These well made shoes of great quality were too small in the toe box to take to Europe for days of walking. I have normal size feet but felt this slip on would not provide the arch support and toe comfort for a happy trip.

Loved it but too big

Perfect flat for walking with the padded sole. I wear them often when I will be doing casual walking and don't want a bulky shoe. Have warn them for years.

I usually wear a 6 1/2 medium (wide in toe box). In my opinion sizing is true as is width. This is comfortable but maybe slightly tight in toe area. Hopefully it will stretch out. Very nice looking on foot, slimming.

These flats fit perfectly, look great, and are worth the cost.

I liked these. But I did like the Clark's in black better. P

I like this shoe. Fit was too big. I ordered the UK size 6 & 1/2 which is size 9 US. My error. I admit was too quick to 'Click.'

Fit very well. Comfortable right out of the box.
