Way too wide in the shaft circumference and heel for my leg and foot. Feels though as if it would make a very good, sturdy riding boot.

Does anyone know about the material for the cognac leather? I tried on the grey one at Nordstrom (because they didn't have the cognac) and the material for the grey one was SO CHEAP and DELICATE. It couldn't stand on its own. For those who own this boot in cognac leather, is the material good and can the boot actually STAND?

These shoes are comfortable and I've gotten a ton of compliments while wearing them. However, after having worn them for no more than three months, an average of 3 times a week, I had to replace the soles they were so worn. Bucks later I'm glad I got them on sale because I've now invested retail price into these things.

I've only worn these twice so far, once very lightly and once for about about 6 hours (though I was standing more than walking). Right now, the bottom is separated about an inch down the toe of one shoe and is starting to come apart at the other. The sole is starting to wear down as well. For this price? Seriously, go get multiple pairs of cheaper boots for this quality. It looks nice, definitely, and is stylish (I got the wine) with skinnies or leggings. The wine scuffs extremely easily, especially around the toe. It's also incredibly narrow on my average width feet, but it's starting to stretch slightly now. Overall, these are cute...but so are a lot of the $20 boots at Forever 21. I completely regret wasting money on these. For the price, I was expecting far more durability.

I was expecting more from this boot. Up close the leather looks cheap and the quality is just okay. They slouch down a lot. I haven't decided if I'll be keeping them. I'm just glad I didn't buy them at full price because they are not worth the price.

I tried 2 different pairs of these and both times the sole on the front separated from the boot after about an hour of wearing them just around the office. I never wore them outside. I returned the first pair in hopes that it was just a defective pair, but it was not. The 2nd pair did the same exact thing. Also, the toe box was a little narrow and rubbed my toes. I was so sad to have to send them back, I got them in the wine color, which looks like it is not available any longer. It is possible it was just that color that does this. I have tons of friends who have these in the brown and love them. Although they have had them forever too so it makes me wonder if Steve Madden is making these boots differently now. Who knows! All I do know is I sent 2 pairs back for the same reason.

These are great boots, stylish and quality for the price! However, my very thin calves are too small for the boot...ordering a smaller size won't fit my size 6 1/2 foot. Sadly they will go back.

I have a large calf (16") and these fit, but for the price, the leather looked and felt very cheap. I was hoping for more and will be returning them. Additionally, they seemed to run a bit smaller than most other similar styles- had I chose to keep them, I would have had to exchange for 1/2 size larger.

I LOVE the look of these boots. They look good with so many different outfits. They are pretty comfortable and a good fit. I love the look of the leather; not cheap looking in the slightest. However, there is barely anything (padding, lining, etc.) in the inside AND the SOLES ARE TERRIBLE. They are the cheapest soles I've ever seen/worn. I put up with them for a little over a year and just went to see how much it would cost to replace the soles are expensive! They have to replace the wedge part and the soles. The woman at the shoe repair store also told me that many, many women have come in with the exact same boots and exact same problem only 5-6 months after buying these boots. That should not happen. I was just in Steve Madden recently and although I love their styles and have a couple pairs of their snow and rain boots, I am going to be very skeptical about any other styles. Most of them have cheap, tacky looking wooden bottoms/soles now! That can't be safe, comfortable or durable. Ugh!

Great shoes, I have a few similar Madden boots and always order them on the smaller side b/c they stretch. I usually wear 7.5-8 so I order the 7.5.

A beautiful boot but that is where the compliments end. The stitching was poorly done. The leather quality was not up to standards when compared to other boots in this price range. There did not seem to be any cushioning on the foot bed. The shoe is not true to size. I did have someone try on the shoe who wore a half size smaller. They said it fit, but felt like cardboard. I wanted to love this shoe, but it is definitely not worth the money.

I normally wear a size 9 in Steve Madden/Steven, but I had to order a half-size up for these boots. That being said, these boots are so comfortable. I absolutely love them. I've had a hard time finding boots to fit around my calves, and these finally do. I am so happy with them & get tons of compliments when wearing them around town. They are a bit slippery on the snow, though I didn't get them for winter wear. Perfect for spring/fall wearing!

These shoes are stylish and comfy. They go with a lot of outfits, jeans and dresses alike. I've noticed the construction can be a bit cheap around the soles and at the toe of the shoe. I would recommend these for someone who wants a good shoes that maybe will last 2 seasons.

This review is for the stone leather boots. The boots did not quite live up to my expectations. The color does look better in the pics than in real life. Be careful what clothes you have on when you try them for the first time. I had white dye all over my black pants after struggling for a few minutes to get the right boot on because it was noticeably smaller than the left one and I couldn't get my foot past the vamp part initially. The boots run a bit narrow, however, leather does tend to loosen up so I'm hoping that the toe part will stretch a bit. On the other hand the calf shaft is so wide that if you wear the strap on the tightest or second to the tightest option, the leather at the top bunches up and the strap part sticks out in an unflattering way. I would not have purchased these boots at this price had I seen/tried them at the store.

I love the look of these boots! They are exactly what I thought I was getting and look how I want them to. My only complaint is that they are a bit narrow towards the toes. Not enough to keep me from wearing them, but I will not be able to wear thick socks at least with the size that I normally wear. The length is right though, they are just a bit narrow. They are super cute and I love them.

I know people love these and I really tried to like them too, but they were a little big. I ordered an 8 and they were a little too big and they also looked a little bit cheap. Not for me.

Love these boots, they fit comfortably. Leather has "worn in" look. They did not have a side zipper which I did not realize, but I looked at a lot of boots! I have a 16 1/2 in calf and they fit perfectly. I will order in another color too!

This boot fit relatively true to size. I typically wear a 6.5 or 7 and ordered a 6.5. The boot fit fine, but might be a bit small if I wore thick socks. The boots were beautiful pebbled cognac leather, unfortunately I couldn't pull them up my calves. Awesome option for people with slimmer calves, just not for me.

I love these boots! I finally wore out my first pair after a year and a half of heavy wear, and have purchased another. I went with the cognac color, it goes with everything and looks great over jeans and leggings alike. I have a wider calf (16.5 inches) and found these boots to be a perfect fit. There's very little support to be had in the foot, but I put in a pair of drugstore arch supports and can walk in them all day. Well worth the money in my opinion!

I've been wearing these for the most of the last two years. Comfortable, stylish, versatile (wear them with leggings, jeans, dresses etc) and they get better with age. I have slightly athletic calves, but these boots fit a tiny bit loose. The only two cons I have: I had to replace the sole of the boots after 1.5 years (quick fix with cobbler) and that they fit loose at the ankle (I think they would be more flattering with a snugger ankle). Overall, it's the best money I've ever spent.

These boots are great! I've gotten many compliments on them! They are pretty comfortable and they are so cute! The only thing is that one of the boots was a more light brownish color than the other boot which had a more darker, snake-like brown. Overall though, these boots were great!

Super cute boot! Sadly this pair will be going back because it was too big. I usually wear a 5.5 or 6. Ordered a 6 because I own a very similar pair of Steve Madden boots in black that are a size 6 & they fit just fine. These, however, felt more like a 6.5. Oh well! Shipping was super fast as always & I will definitely continue to do business with Zappos. They are the best!

I LOVED these boots when I first bought them. The quality is bad though. The heels have separated and the leather looked worn out after a few wears. The top of the boot is unfinished which always kind of bugged me. If you want something that is going to last more then a few months keep looking! Otherwise the style is super cute and they are super comfy.

The boots are awesome! You can wear with skirt or jeans. They can be dressed up or down. The material is good quality and from pass experience they will last for years to come with proper care. I bought the cognac and am thinking of getting the black as well.

I really like the style of this boot, but unfortunately the 9 was too big and the 8.5 was too small. I was really bummed and had to return.
