Nice shoe, really wanted it to work, because it was the first Birkenstock that didn't scream "old hippie lady in sensible shoes!"--- but alas, not for someone with skinny ankles. And the ankle strap is placed such that punching more holes in it wouldn't have worked effectively, either. So, if you are of the skinny foot, skinny ankles set, this one, even in Narrow, isn't for you.

I love this shoe! It fits beautifully, provides great stability and matches my expectations for a Birkenstock. It is nice looking as well. I have tricky feet to fit and this really will be a keeper for me. Reminds me of my favorite old Mephistos...love them and they stopped making the style. Thanks Zappos for great service and quality.

I wanted to love these sandals. I really did. Birkenstock quality, Birkenstock comfort. But unfortunately not Birkenstock fit. The leather straps on these sandals are shorter than on the Milano, therefore, they didn't fit over the top of my foot. Since my feet often swell in the summer I'm not willing to risk tight shoes that can't be adjusted any bigger. If only the straps were about an inch longer! I'd have kept them for 5+ years like I did my Milano's. Had to send them back.

The straps on this sandal are significantly longer than other styles. I have worn the same size of Birkenstocks for 40 years and these were huge! If you have a thin foot, but wear a regular width, these might be too large for you. Unfortunately, I had to send them back.

Gah! I was so excited and looking forward to these Birkies arriving! I tried them on, and ouch - there is a stud fastening the ankle strap to the back of the ankle strap (if that makes sense) and as soon as I fastened this sandal, it bugged me. I know if I had worn them for any length of time, especially in the hot weather, it would have caused the skin under the stud pain and blistering.

Love the sandal. The arch is just not high enough for the support I need. Do they make these with a high arch? Someone told me that now Birkenstock makes high arch sandals. Didn't they all used to be high arch?

Even after this had stretched out, it's not as comfortable as the Birkenstock Milano. Because of the lack of an adjustable strap on the heel, the ankle strap cuts into my foot when I'm walking... I still prefer it to other dressy sandals made by other brands such as Dansko, because those shoes run narrow and the sole isn't as broad, which makes them less stable for walking. Wish they came in a 43, which would be a bit longer, although it's not crucial in a sandal. Kumfs are the next best thing to these, but don't like velcro closures as much as buckles. and Zappos has stopped stocking them for some reason (get them back!)

Very comfy!!! Got these for my trip to Italy and I think they will be perfect. I have been wearing them in slowly and so far so good! Nothing is rubbing and they have a comfortable foot bed. They do run on the larger side. I ordered one size down.

Very recently wrote a review of this shoe. While there is much to like about it, I was bummed to discover that, because of my high instep, the top strap is too tight, even on the last hole. I have ordered the Granada Soft Foodbed (slide) instead. It is very similar, but without the buckled strap. I wish they would make the straps a bit longer. Remember to order down a size.

Just received my Bali Soft Footbed sandals. I ordered down one size as suggested in other reviews - a 38 instead of my standard 39 - and they fit perfectly. The width is generous, but I don't think a narrow would work. So, if you have a medium to narrow foot, I suggest you go with the narrow. As for style, they are very cute, one of the cutest sandals I have bought in quite awhile. While I have not worn them yet, I know they will be comfortable right off the bat, as there are no spots that will rub or need to be broken in. There's just one problem: they only come in brown. Birkenstock needs to introduce more color choices ASAP. I will be waiting and ordering more colors when they are available. Does anyone ever NOT give Birkenstocks 5 stars?

Amazing! Put these on, wore them all day. I have foot problems and wide feet. Loved these shoes. Probably will buy another pair in a different color. A standout among Birkenstocks.

Beautiful sandal. fit was right on like all Birks, 38 fits my 7.5 feet perfect. love the soft footbed. for width, nothing beats Birkenstock. In this style I loved the back strap, but it was situated right under the ankle bone and it rubbed my ankle with every step. Had to send back for a different Birki style.

I wore these shoes to Italy, where we walked around 8 hours a day! No blisters and it was completely comfortable. These shoes were a full size too big, so I had to do an exchange. I am a small person and these shoes look a little clunky on me, but I still love them!

Another great pair of Birkenstocks. Very comfy. I do think the soft footbed doesn't have quite as good arch support as regular Birkenstocks but still adequate. And, as always, love Zappos and their customer service!

This sandal was a little too stiff in the leather and the foot bed for me. And I didn't want to bother with the buckle every time I put it on or off. Otherwise it is a beautiful sandal, great arch support, nice quality all around...just not for me.

I find the soft foot bed has a somewhat more prominent toe bar than the regular foot bed, so it is taking me longer to break them in. That being said, I have lots of things wrong with my feet, and Birkenstocks are the only shoe I can wear without modifying them with inserts,pads, etc.. Be aware that the soft footbed runs narrower than the regular footbed, if you have a wide foot get the regular width.

Love this sandal. Perfect for the mom on the go, without sacrificing comfort and style. Comfortable from the first day I wore them. I have small feet, size 5.5. The narrow fit is perfect!

Loved my very old Birks but can no longer wear footwear without a back of back strap due to nerve damage in left leg. So I was thrilled to see this model. Super comfy soft footbed. I generally wear a size 8M shoe and took a 38N in these sandals.

Best shoes, and I have tried a lot. I have a long narrow foot, high arch and stand on my feet for hours every day. Try them. I did get a size smaller.

Now my favorite summer shoe! These sandals go with almost everything and are very comfortable. They are my first soft sole Birkenstocks and the fit, comfort and style are all perfect. The heel strap adds extra security so I can wear them when walking my large, rambunctious dog. I'm very happy with this sandal.

These are Birks. You know what you're getting when you buy a brand that's been around for as long as they have. The quality is impeccable. The comfort unmatchable. These supported me through daily walking of, on average, 6-8 hours through Europe. They still look brand new. I also like the styling of these because they're not quite so clunky and tree-huggy as the other styles. Get them. You'll be glad you did. Or at least your feet will be.

I bought a size down because many reviews said the shoe runs big. I wear size 10 normally, and the 40 (size 9) was about half an inch too small. I re-ordered the 41 (size 10) and it fits perfectly. Took a few days for my feet to get more comfortable in the shoe and for it to mold to my feet, but now that they are broken in these are my new favorite sandals. I wear them around town and while working at a summer camp. I have extremely flat feet, and have tried a number of shoes. Usually high arch support is too painful. These were perfect, I could tell my foot was supported but it wasn't to high of an arch. I'd recommend these to anyone. I like that they have the ankle strap, and are not just flip flops.

Almost...but off in several ways, like length, width and comfort. These shoes are almost narrow enough if you buy a full size smaller than your regular size, but then they are a hair too short. They are almost comfortable if you can ignore the staples that secure the buckle to the strap. Who wants staple ends annoying their skinny feet? If my feet were easy to fit, and didn't need TLC, I would probably love these.

Love the Birkenstock collection. Have problems with feet and need a good arch support, I can always rely on Birkenstock to deliver. Use these indoors in wintertime with socks instead of slippers. Ab fab.
