Just what I was looking for - I am very pleased with my recent purchase of Salomon's XA Pro 3D Ultra. They are comfortable, true to size, excellent on the trails and very stylish.

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultras - This is the third pair of Salomons I've bought. As before, I'm very happy with the quality, looks, and fit. I'm even happier with my new shoe store "ZAPPOS". Excellent service and Customer Support. You people deserve an Oscar. I've been around the block a few times and I can honestly say your company has been the best buying experience that I have ever had.

Best All-Around Shoe - This is my third pair of this model. The lacing system is second to none and they have never broken! Excellent out of the box arch support for medium arch; hour glass shaped profile allows for your foot to swell during exercise with no discomfort. When you retire them they make a great kickin' around shoe.

Walked in them for about 50 miles or so. Feel extremely comfortable, hope the lace holders don't break. Otherwise I will find Salomon with the lace system it has is the best shoe on the market.

Shoe just as advertised - This shoe is great. We ordered a previous version and were so satisfied my son wanted another pair. It fits well and holds up to the wear and tear of a 15 year old!

I am totally happy with this shoe. It's sturdy enough for hiking in rocky desert terrain, but light and flexible enough to jog in. Size is true. Warning to folks with wide feet, this shoe has a narrow last on the flip side, if you have a narrow foot and have a hard time finding shoes that fit, you should consider this shoe.

Love them! A little more money than I like to spend but so far worth the doe. I especially like the draw string. I just hope I get a lot of mileage out of them.

Great shoes, this is about my 10th pair of them. I wear them every day. My one and only complaint? Every pair I have purchased, the right shoe starts to squeak within a day or two of putting them on.

This was my first trial of Zappos. The shoes I bought were a brand unknown to me but I bought them based on their reviews plus the ability to return them if they weren\'t right for me. The reviews were on target and the fit of the Salomon shoes were the best I have ever had. The only drawback was the shoelaces. I like the closed loop design and the ease of lacing them up but they were too short, which forces me to use a shoehorn to get them on. But the rest of the features were so good that I decided it was a small penalty for what was otherwise a perfect shoe for me.

I am overjoyed to find Salomon shoes in a wide size. I have worn their shoes for years but often had trouble finding them wide enough for my feet. I had on pair that I wore constantly for five years and finally wore a hole in the side of the shoe. This particular model the Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra is really comfortable. They seem a bit light for serious off road running but I have ordered a pair of carbon fiber insoles which should remedy the problem. I especially love the Kevelar lacing system and have found they are adjustable and never break. I am really hard on shoes and this is my 5TH pair of Salomon shoes and I have loved every pair.

These are great shoes and I will probably buy another pair. I wear them almost daily for running, walking, and work. After 9 months one of the loops for the speed lacing has almost worn through and the fabric in the back of the heal cup has worn through. The fit from the start was right on.

Great shoes...Only complaint is they seem to run a half size smaller than most. Friends have said the same. I'm about to buy another pair!

Great hill climber - Straight out of the box and up into a hill climbing, rocky environment with no problems. Light, durable shoes with a comfortable all around feel on my feet.

I'm a US 12.5, most shoes don't offer the half size over 12 and that influenced my decision on buying these. I have worn them on many Colorado trails (about 30 miles) and they are decent. They are very lightweight and breathable. Early wear around the ankle fabric fraying. The sole tread is shallow, I have an earlier design of the Salomon 'contragrip' that had a much deeper and more grippy tread even now that they're worn out. The tread depth isn't as pathetic as Keens though, I think braille would have better tread grip than Keen shoes.

Shoelaces are difficult to relace/replace. Shoe has held up well; however, one of the shoelaces broke. Not sure how you replace the factory shoelace as Asymmetrical lacing has multiple loops that are "factory" tied off. I used a conventional replacement shoe lace that was larger in diameter than original shoelace. After repeated attempts (30 minutes) I finally relaced shoe; however, I was only able to use the upper eyeholes as the asymmetrical eyeholes will not work with a traditional shoe lace.

I have owned two pair of this same shoe. The first one I had and wore nearly every day for four or five months and it held up very well. The second pair however developed a strange squeaking noise when I would roll off the ball of my right foot, and this was only a few days after I started wearing them. The noise eventually became worse and on both shoes and upon further inspection I saw that tread attached to the sole of the shoe was actually separating from the main part of the sole.

Not for my foot - These shoes seem well made, but they pinch my instep. I wear other brands (Brooks, New Balance, etc.) without a problem. The Salomons must be ok for narrow feet with high arches, but I cannot wear them. I tried both the medium and the wide versions, but both had the same issue.

Ran about 8 miles one day with these and wound up with blisters. Uncomfortable, poorly built, strange lacing structure. No way I would ever recommend these to anyone.

Wide width is truly wide. It fits well and is lightweight. The mesh lets fine sand, such as beach sand, in but I guess the GTX will fix that.

My first pair of Salomon shoes. I love the fit and the style. It has great comfort and support. I'll see how it holds up to my abuse.

Very comfortable and durable running shoe. My third pair of Salomon's and cannot say enough great things about them. Lacing system is very effective The system helps keep out small debris like goat heads, mud, rocks, etc. Easy to clean and shoes drain well after water exposure.
