Comfortable boat shoe that runs true to size and has a durable sole. I have worn mine considerably for a couple of years and overall shoe has held up well with one exception - the non-rawhide laces: 1. do not stay tied without a double knot, 2. lace ends ultimately de-laminate and unravel, and 3. laces cannot be replaced due to shoe design.

I wear and A/B width and this one runs closer to that narrow width range than most casual competitors. It is a comfortable shoe and has been pretty durable over several years. Note mesh air flow area below leather is not waterproof. Laces a problem: (a) synthetic material and will not stay in place without a double knot. (b) are sewn-in (not continuous) so they cannot be replaced with leather, and (c) laminated lace tips typically crack and laces unravel before the leather wears out or soles wear thin with use.

Well, these did not last as long as other styles of boat shoes. The side panel that is not 'leather' wore out and now I have a big hole on my right shoe. After three years of occasional wear, they are worn out on the side, not the bottoms.

Good shoes but once shoelaces break they cannot be repaired. This is a very poor design and I do not recommend these boat shoes.

I ordered 6E width and these shoes are marked 6E but the width is more like 4E. Really disappointing as it is difficult to find 6E shoes.

The shoe is stylish, however as I thought, if you incur a low wet parking spot, the water will pour inside the netting. The shoe laces are WORTHLESS. After a week of tying them, the laces do not hold a knot. You end up stepping on the laces each time you wear the shoes.
I'd also recommend:
One with regular laces and not any netting.

Lack of available sizes forced me to buy shoe wider than I wear.

I bought these Dunham Captains to replace a pair of Rockport Perth boat shoes. Positives include narrow width sizes, nice leather uppers, vents on the sides, laces that actually stay tied, and attractive style. My biggest issue is the insoles seriously irritate my feet, especially my toes, when worn without socks. These are boat shoes. You shouldn’t need socks. Further, they seem to run a bit tight in length. This is exacerbated with socks. Very disappointed. Won’t buy again.

I felt like they were too big length and width, perhaps mis-marked. The style and color I really did like. I wore them around the house a number of times before I wore them out. I wore them outside perhaps three times and each time something just did not feel totally right. At this point, I do not know if I want to try another pair.

The left shoe actually seems to apply too much pressure to the big toe side of the ball of the foot causing severe pain after a few hours of wearing them including time sitting. Hoping it’s just a break in issue because I cannot physically feel a lump in the shoe itself with my hands

Bought a pair of these about 5 years ago and LOVED them. But time to replace them. Well, guess what? Ordered the same size as before but now they are narrower and shorter! Why Dunham?? I used a ruler and measured the width and length of the sole and compared to my old pair - yep - new ones are smaller!! WTH?? Going back. So sad... :-(

Unbelievable how narrow these are. I have average width feet, have always worn a D width, order these in 11 1/2 and 12, both too narrow!

I wanted these to really be great! But they were way to tight for my medium width foot, even when I took the insoles out they were too tight & therefore they definitely didn’t work with my orthotic inserts. I bought these cause of the Rollbar tech I need for arch support and over pronation I have. Yet, sadly they didn’t work for me. I will look and see if they have a wider width

While the comfort and style of this shoe are well-deserving of 5 stars, I unfortunately have chosen to remove 3 stars from the overall score. After wearing the shoes for under a week, I have noticef that various areas of stitching on the shoe have already began to come loose/undone. I do not expect the shoes to last long term. Please keep in mind that my use of the shoes included primarily minimal-moderate activity while indoors.

The heel on one shoe is already coming apart. And I done even wear them every day. Very disappointed. I used to buy Sperry but thought I would give these a try. Bad idea!

What happened to the Rollbar? I just ordered a pair of these and noticed that the Rollbar is missing. That feature is the reason I bought these shoes in the first place.

Disappointed that I ordered a 4E and it was no wider than just a wide. I'm thinking the 6E wouldn't be much better.

Very nice and comfortable shoe but looked unfinished. Not as solid a construction as you would expect for a shoe of this price. If the quality was better, it would have been an awesome shoe.

I bought these for my husband. Great looking shoe but not a true 14. Very tight across the top of the toes and the length was tight as well

9.5 6E was longer and narrower than my 10 D Keens. The stitching is not securred inside. I could pull it out if I wanted to and it is always slipping under my heel. The side supports are uncomfortably firm. Overall a very poor shoe for the price.

I've had these shoes for 3 months and they have begun to separate from the sole. I normally love Dunham shoes, but this pair was not made well. They are hard to keep clean as well.
