Knowing that they run large from a previous purchase, I ordered one size smaller than normal. Beyond that abnormality, this is my second pair of this style.

I've never put a shoe on that was instantly comfortable before. The fit was excellent in every way (I ordered a wide width). The most important attribute to me in a boat shoe is comfort, and I completely forgot I was wearing them during the first day. Also, it's rare that the product looks better than the photo, but in this case it did. The leather looked rich, and the quality of the other items indicates it will last a very long time. Completely satisfied in every way, great shoe.

If you wore/wear Sperry and are discouraged with the drop in their quality then switch to Dunham. Comfort, fit, support and quality. I wear 11.5 B width so I have a terrible time finding shoes that fit. Not a problem with the Dunham Captain.

I have very wide feet - hard to find shoes. Ordered a 12/4E - too large. Ordered an 11/4e. Perfect. Nice shoe - good grip (actually used for boating).

My husband is particular about shoes. He has a wide foot. We ordered these for him in 10.5 width 4e. He loves them. He says that they are comfortable and roomy. Proof is that he wears them constantly! We finally had to order a second pair because he won't wear anything else.

An excellent competitor to Sperry's. These have style, comfort and the price is right. I have an issue with one swollen foot so searched for 6E size. These were super! I've had this color and the Tan ones for over six months and so far they wear very well. FYI, I would buy these at any size or width. Thanks.

My husband loves these shoes. They are cooler in the warm weather and he has gotten many compliments on them. They are comfortable and well-made.

I have narrow, flat feet. These are a perfect fit and extremely comfortable. And, are high quality construction. Out of the box and two days of trapsing Manhattan pavement and they were still comfortable.

This is the most comfortable boat shoe I've owned. It's also very nicely styled and finished.

Really nice quality shoe. Husband has wide feet and difficult to find slip-on shoes that fit. He wears these constantly and says they are very comfortable. Seem well made.

Great shoes! I bought this for someone who has problems with his feet, and he really likes them. They are easy to get into and wide enough to feel comfortable.

I have owned a pair of these shoes for about 5 years. I tend to be hard on my shoes. These have held up exceptionally well. They are my "go-to" shoes for casual and comfortable. I have used them for hiking, sailboat racing, yard work, even exercising. I can't begin to guess how many miles I walked in these shoes! I did have an issue with the stitching on the side of one of the shoes. This occurred at least 4 years after I bought them. A shoe repair store re-stitched them - problem solved. The sole edging has started to separate in a couple spots, but they are still very comfortable shoes after years of almost daily wear. I have several pairs of Sperry shoes. In my opinion, the Dunhams are much more comfortable, although the Sperrys also fit my narrow foot well. I'm writing this review because I'm getting ready to order another pair that I won't be embarrassed to wear in public!

I love 'em. Buy a new pair or more every spring. I find this Dunham's boat shoe far superior to anything Sperry offers. My size is 11 4E.

I wear a 6E shoe. These were labeled 6E. Too tight. Returned.

I like these shoes. My 3rd pair. There b width is actually a D width. I have a thin narrow foot and cannot find true narrows anywhere. I wear smartwool medium cushion socks and add a Danger arch support . Then they fit pretty well. They are comfortable to walk and drive in..They are cooler to wear than all leather. The side mesh helps a lot. They are well made and I have never broken a parachute cord lace as some have noted. I have brown. I tried and returned other colors. They were even wider. Zappos stand behind their products.

These are very attractive shoes--However, I have a fitting problem.I wear a 14 1/2 -which is almost impossible to find. Sometimes I can use a smaller fitting 15. However, I had already tried a 15 and they were too large. So I got a 14 and hoped for the best. They were tight so I stretched them a bit. Still a little tight. Kinda of a no win-but not your fault. I have worn a Sebago deck shoe for years which does fit well but has gotten old.

I am a woman with very difficult to fit feet. It is very hard for me to find attractive shoes in a men's 4E with removable insole so I can fit orthotic and deep enough toe box and manageable heel, since my heel is normal width. These are fantastic. It has been hard for me to figure Dunham sizes which seem very different for shoes versus boots -- with the shoes running smaller. Although I bought them to sail in, I am now wearing just for city walking and so far so good. I think a light color would be fine with long skirts. I love the way you can adjust the lace in order to snug the heel and still have width in front. I wish Zappos had the light color but they don't seem to carry as many extended sizes as in the past. These are a bit hot probably due to the orthotic -- the fisherman's sandal is cool but not as supportive as this shoe.

The leather on the top of the left shoe is wrinkled. Bad QC by the company and Zappos should have been more careful in selecting and sending the shoes!!
