I have a very narrow foot and have never been able to wear "boat shoes" as they were always too wide and my heel would slip right out. I tried these out because they were available in a narrow size, and they feel great - super comfortable for all day wearing and walking (and I walk a lot). The only thing I don't love from a design perspective is the little orange logo on the back. But, I can live with it. :)

Beyond perfect! Great shoe, supportive, light, looks good with khakis, golf shorts, etc. As always, Zappos made it easy to order two different styles and sizes and return what didn't work. As a size 13 extra-wide, this is much appreciated! Will buy this style and size again, and most certainly from Zappos!

This will be my 4th pair if the Captains. One began to self destruct (the stitching was breaking and pulling out) after three months, and Dunham graciously replaced them. These are hands down the best boat shoes I have ever owned. I wear a 13 6E (hard to find), and these fit perfectly. They wear like iron (I got 5 years out of my last pair), and I wore them almost every day. I have very high arches, and getting my feet into most shoes is impossible. These? They feel like they were custom made. Arch support is amazing, and the comfort is second to none.

I never give five star reviews but this shoe deserves one. I have a very wide foot and this is the only casual shoe I have found, other than black tennis shoes, that fit like a glove. I wore these on vacation in Havana where some streets are cobblestoned and some uneven or with holes. This shoe never failed me and my foot felt entirely comfortable everywhere. I highly recommend this shoe and will look to Dunham when I next need to buy.

I'm a Sperry guy but I'm not happy with their quality recently. I gave Dunham a shot and it was a good move. The Captain is really well made and I even benefited from being able to order a B width.

Excellent shoe; quick and easy transaction with Zappos. I have short wide feed and have a hard time getting shoes the right size in stores; Zappos makes it easy for me now.

I bought these for my 16 year old son who is about 6'5", in size 15 4E. He has flat feet, and weighs about 230. His feet are so big, I have to buy 15's in most shoes, but 14's are actually long enough. That said, he loves these shoes. They are comfortable and stylish, and that is hard to find for him. If you have really big feet, Dunham brand is great. Also, I marked "moderate arch support" because the shoes have more than "no arch support." But it is not moderate, it is perhaps "mild arch support" but that wasn't an option. The cushioning is great.

This is the most comfortable boat shoe I have ever worn; right out of the box, day 1. Excellent size and fit.

My boyfriend has very wide feet and suffers from plantar faciitis. When he walks he rolls his foot inward requiring Good Feet lime green insoles in all his shoes which helps the plantar fasciitis. The roll bar technology in these shoes really helps keep his feet from rolling inward and he found that he did not need the Good Feet insoles, he was amazed. He can be a 3EEE, or a 4EEEE, with these shoes he is a 4EEEE. He can be an 8½ or a 9, with these shoes he is an 8½. He loves these shoes and wears them everyday!

Bought this shoe for my husband (mid 50's) because he has wide feet and high arches and typical boat shoes do not fit well. These are light weight, have nice arch support and like New Balance brand, available in various widths. Lining is similar to sport shoe so probably not a good barefoot shoe. Best worn with low profile socks.

The shoe is very good looking, sold at a reasonable price. I am most impressed with the speedy service that Zappos provides as well as the free shipping both ways! It's a pleasure doing business with them...and so easy. Thanks, Zappos!

Superb shoes that fit like a glove. I wear a 7.5 EEEE, and rarely find shoes that are as comfortable as these. Usually boat shoes take a year or so of breaking in before they are comfortable, but my Dunham Captains were a great fit right out of the box. To top it off, Zappos service is beyond compare.

Here I've been paying all this money for Mephisto and Dunham has quietly brought out a boat shoe for a third of the price that feels, walks and looks as good as anything else out there. The smooth leather one is ingenious and beats all the rest at any price. Kudos for Dunham (New Balance) for this shoe! Oh. And it's your street shoe size, not your athletic shoe size.

Great shoe! Very comfortable and the fit right out of the box is fabulous. I wear a 4E and these fill the bill perfectly - and they look good - comfort is my main concern - I am a big man. Of course shopping Zappos is just amazing - never a problem with them.

I like the style of these shoes. Some people insist on "real" Sperrys and call these fake, but I find these to fit great and are remarkably comfortable. Disclaimer, I wear orthotics for my flat feet, but in terms of length and width, these are great. And they are built with quality. I've only had them a short time, but I think they will last quite a while. I highly recommend these if you are in for comfortable "boat' shoes.

As always, Zappo's has the sizes I need, especially wide. These sizes are not something you can buy locally. When as a child and had larger shoe sizes, and took some kidding from my friends my Mother would say: "It takes a bigger foundation to build a church than it does to build an out-house." I am glad to find a place like Zappos. Think wide!

Very nice shoe, sharp looking and comfortable. Normally, I order a 10 1/2 in order to get enough width, but I ordered 1/2 size smaller because the 4E width was available and the fit was great.

My husband has very wide feet, and these shoes in 1 6E are the first shoes in years that he can wear with comfort! The delivery was very quick and the shoes are high quality. We will return to Zappos for future shoes of quality that fit!

The boat shoes were as described. I have extremely flat feet and the extra wide fit very will with my orthodic inserts. They are very comfortable and look very stylish.

Far superior to all other boat shoes I have previously purchased. Well made with quality materials. Mesh vents on sides near sole allow for water drainage and the laces are functional adding to a ore secure fit. They also offer some arch support.

As soon as I put these on my big feet (size 13 EE), I knew they'd be my go-to casual shoes. The look and feel great. Sperry can't match the comfort of these guys; the Dunham Captain trumps them. Highly recommended.

The first pair of shoes I ordered didn't fit as I had ordered the wrong size. The return process was so easy and efficient. I got the new pair right away and they fit perfectly, are comfortable and are very good quality. I wouldn't hesitate to order my next pair of shoes from Zappos.
