My husband totally loved the fit and feel of these, he's really suffering with Plantar Faciitis. and they felt GOOD. However, the very confident, renaissance kind of guy was left somewhat uncomfortable with the feminine look up front and questioning whether he should really be seen.. So we're thinkin they're not exactly gender neutral that way. Very, very sadly, returned.

Scratchy edges stiff leather. Not as good as my old ones. Wanted second pair because finnmatic hard to get and insoles not available in size 38 for finnmatic. Other finnmatic style I tried recently also had stiff scratchy straps. Maybe quality has gone down. The only shoes I buy are Finn comfort. So I need more finnmatic styles.

I could not keep these sandals because the heel area is much lower than a normal shoe. I might be able to get used to this over time, but then all my other shoes would be totally different. I opted to return them and try some inserts.

I am hesitant to write a negative review, but there were too many problems. I purchased these so I could put my own orthotic in them - I hate wearing athletic shoes with a skirt! And I have big feet. I'm 5'5" and wear a men's 43 - 44 shoe. These have been recommended by podiatists and friends over the years and finally I splurged and got a pair. And they were horrible. I suspect that I could go down to a 42, but wouldn't because the stitching left sharp knots in various places that made the shoes seem cheaply made and even though they were too big, these knots rubbed on my feet. My orthotics were both too small and too wide to fit, unlike my athletic shoes where they slip in comfortably with no wiggle-room. I'm sorry, but I cannot recommend these.

The Ankle Straps are too short.

Such a disappointment -- an expensive disappointment. Arch support is great and fit was excellent walking around the house. About 30 minutes into an urban walk about, I had the worst blister ever low on my left heel. There seems to be some irregularity in the lining that chaffed. I do a lot of walking and have owned many high end walking footwear. I never before had such a bad experience.

I had to return these sandals because (as others had noted) the velcro strap around the arch is too short for me. So they might not work for anyone with high arches. But the sandal itself was comfortable, and Zappos was great. I ended up finding Clark Wave sandals, which are perfect for me (and, I have to admit, much less expensive).

These were very comfortable but the husband felt totally feminine which was not his intent..

This sandal is very will made with quality parts throughout, as you would expect from a product made in Germany. That being said, it is the most painful thing I have ever put on my feet. There is a large ridge that runs completely across the arch line of both sandals. Every step is painful. Twenty-five feet or more is agony. My feet are normal and have never given me a problem with a large variety of shoes and sandals I have purchased over the years. I cannot believe no one else brought this to the reader's attention in thirty-six reviews. Both sandals were made the same so I don't believe they were a "bad" pair. As always, Zappos honored my return request without any problem.

Received these shoes today and must return them. I thought I was buying the beige version shown in the picture but I received dark brown shoes. Also, the arch support is so high that it makes my foot feel like it is splitting apart. And, the straps scrape on my foot in a bad way. I think I could possibly overcome the last two objections, but I cannot change the wrong color.

I don't recall seeing mention that these were rocker shoes. They are horribly uncomfortable, and they are horrible for my bad knee! I wish I could also write that they had TOO MUCH arch support.
