Quality looks great, but sizing is difficult. I'm sending my second pair back, and looks like I will be wearing 1.5 sizes below my normal sneaker size.

I've been buying Red Wing Boots for twenty years. I still have and wear all of them. They all felt narrow when I first got them but they form to the feet. I wear medium thickness socks in them. I use them for casual wear so all of the boots look great. You get what you pay for and in my opinion, my Red Wings are worth more than I paid for them.

Great boot and style. Sizes ran one full size larger. One issue am having is certain parts of the boot are so heavily reinforced making it very difficult to break in and therefore causing pressure spots in the toe box which I feel is narrower relative to the overall width of the the boot. Love the boot but getting them comfortable has been painful.

Amazing boots. After the initial break in they become the most comfortable shoe in your closet. During the day I wear Allen Edmonds for work and I wish I could be wearing these. They mold to your feet wonderfully. Great company too.

I wear a size 9 usually, but these size 9 are a little bit bigger for me but wearing a pair of thick socks helped. The shoes become better looking after wearing.

These boots are work boots! They are not casual boots, they are comfortable and proud owner of three pairs. My work provides me work boots and I just get a new pair every two years and resole my old ones. Someone made the comment about the leather shoe strings being cheap. These boots were designed for welders! Hence the leather laces. No insoles? Well Welders do not walk much. I love Red Wing and have been wearing them for 16 years and counting.

Great sturdy boots.They are still okay for wide feet even though they no longer make them in EEE. The soles are soft, non marring and don't track much dirt, but boots will need to be resoled every year or two,especially if you work on concrete or asphalt surfaces. Oiling regularly is a good idea-they will last longer and shed water better. These boots breathe pretty well so they are comfortable if you have hot feet. They wear in pretty quickly, and seem reasonably comfortable during wear in. Old school footwear - they are a lot more work than modern boots.

Excellent pair of boots! Best pair of boots I have ever purchased hands down. You get what you pay for. Excellent quality and style, would recommend this to anyone looking for some work boots or just going out on a town.

Great boots! These fit like a glove after break in and I love them. Like any leather product these will stretch a bit during break in so be sure to have your correct size to start.

This is easily my favorite boot. They look great, and are extremely well put together. This boot, taken care of, will last you the rest of your life.

Resist the urge to return them immediately. I took the advice of other reviewers to order 1 size smaller than normal. I could barely get my feet into them at first, and they were very tight. I wore them for an hour so every few days, and they have since stretched out nicely and conformed to my feet. They are extremely comfortable, but I never would have known had I not given them a chance.

I am normally a 10.5-11 but found a size 10 fit me best. I had ordered both a 9.5 and 10 from Zappos and decided on the 10. The 9.5 fit fairly snug, but the toe box was a little too cramped even knowing it would probably stretch out. I have worn them for a total of about 2 weeks now and they are progressive becoming more and more comfortable. The first week was brutal and my feet were killing me, but now can go a full day without any issue. I figure another 2 weeks and they will be nicely broken in. Definitely wear a good pair of thick/cushioned wool socks with these on the break-in to save your feet some torture. Also make sure you try these on with the socks you plan on wearing with them as that can make a big difference in what size you decide on. Overall I am very happy with these and I know for a fact I will be wearing sneakers a lot less this year.

Absolutely love 'em. Buy a whole size down. Thought my feet might get too hot. Nope. These puppies rock.

I'm super happy with these, awesome color, great fit, and perfect finish. I would highly recommend these as long as you promise to not kick it in the same places as me! I want to be fly on my own!

I love my Redwings! I'm on my feet seven hours a day. They take a little while to break in, but good things come to those who wait. These boots are well worth the money. You will want to wear them everywhere. Be sure to oil them every couple of months. Mine are getting worn to the point of needing new soles. the footbeds are great! The soles are quiet and resilient. These boots are great if you are on your feet a long time every day and will give your back, hips and knees a break from the concrete. They are well worth the Money! I am a 9½D and they said get a 9. I did and do not regret it.

I was looking to start buying more expensive boots that last longer. This fit the bill. Also I wanted to buy something completely American made. Red Wing is that as well. Extremely happy with this purchase.

These boots just arrived! I ordered the Red Wing Heritage Classic Lifestyle Mock 6" in Copper Rough and Tough on Monday and they were at my door when I got home from work on Tuesday. The color is pretty accurate to the picture on the site, maybe a tiny bit lighter. Excellent service from Zappos as usual, they are truly the best. Free shipping both ways makes me feel confident in ordering with tricky shoe sizing. That brings me to my first point of the review. If you order these boots, take the advice of all the other reviewers and order at least 1/2 size down. I usually wear a 11.5 (sometimes Wide) and I ordered the 11 D width in these boots. The fit is as advertised, tight at first, but that's what you want. Wear a pair of regular socks (white socks may turn brown from the leather after a few wears) and lace them up tight. I have walked around my house in these for an hour or so each night after work and they are starting to feel a little more broken in. The leather is sturdy and I know it will last a long time. Red Wing has been making boots by hand in America (Red Wing, MN) for over 100 years. These boots were an early Christmas present to me from my mother and when I ordered them she commented that my grandfather (her dad) used to wear these boots. I thought that was awesome. Expect a sturdy boot that requires time to break in and that is going to last a long time. Bottom line: I would recommend to a friend.

Very nice boot. Stylish and comfortable but requires significant break in period. I also had to replace the provided insoles with a lower profile one of my own because the ones provided made the back of my heal hit too high against the top of the heel cup stitch. My other Red Wing boots have not done this.

My first pairs of Red Wings (bought in two colors after trying on a couple through Zappos). I love these boots, but follow the reviews and get a full size smaller or maybe half a size if you're a tweener. I am an 11 in most shoes but a 10½ in many boots. I am a 10 in these and there is plenty of room. The leather and craftsmanship is evident from the moment you take them out of the box. People are not kidding that they take some time to break in the edge at the top was especially tough but after about a week of solid wear has started breaking nicely to my feet. Not like some shoes where you develop blisters all over and there is stabbing pain, rather a kind of ache that you can tell they are fitting to your foot. Once they break they soften right up and become super comfortable. Having repeated the process twice in a row I can say it is consistent. I have gotten compliments on both pairs consistently.

Absolutely love my Red Wing boots. Exceptionally well made, stylish, and comfortable (after break in period). In addition on to the high quality materials and workmanship, the boots are made in America! It is very import to me that I support the American worker and American made products. Look great with jeans or cargo pants. Will never buy another brand. As a matter of fact, I just ordered the iron ranger model to tool around Los Angeles.

I need a 9.5 not a 10. The 10 is too big . Can I return them?

Shoes are great! Feels like walking on wood floor the first few days. Then they get comfy. Requires break in period! I’m a size 12 wide in boots. Redwings are made big. I ordered 11.5w and was still too big. Settled on the 11wide. First pair i got from zappos looked used and old. They sent me out a new pair which were better! Contact zappos if you have this issue. They were quite nice on online chat.

They run big, suggest a size smaller and wide. It’s a great boot though.

They fit a little large, but that ok. Since they don't have half sizes in the larger sizes, I'll be ok. These boots are really nice. The leather is top notch. If your on the fence about buying these, just do it. After break in, they are really comfortable. I like them with Jeans.

First of all I want to say about Red Wing boots is that the craftsmanship is legendary. From the leather that is used and the construction and stitching is top quality However when it comes to sizing that is a whole different story. I usually wear a size 10 in most other shoes and when I put this on it felt too big and there was a lot of slippage in the heel. After reading all of the reviews I ordered a 9.5 which fit tighter, but they seemed a little too tight across the top of the foot. I would recommend to go to a Red Wing store to try on their shoes. I went to one nearby and they make you stand in this machine which is supposed to give you a computerized analysis of your foot. The associate that helped me insisted that I needed a 10 and I told him they felt too big. He insisted that would change after breaking them in ( I did not feel comfortable about that. ) I decided to order from Zappos and try them on in my own home without the sales pressure. After months on deciding I hate that I am going to return them. It is a great looking shoe and has a comfortable sole. It is the fit that I cannot trust. I ordered the Red Wing Iron Ranger boots and tried a 9.5. It felt better than the Mac Toe, just a little roomier so I also ordered a 9 which fits like a glove! ( found a keeper ). My advice when choosing Red Wing is to read all of the reviews if you are ordering from Zappos. You might want to order a half size down and a full size to make sure you get a proper fit. It also might depend on the style of shoe. I have been dealing with Zappos for many years and they have the best customer service and return policy so trying on shoes and maybe waiting awhile to make a decision is not a problem. But if you do go to a Red Wing store I would make sure to try on different sizes and even styles to find your right fit. Don't let some computerized sizing machine or an pushy sales associate make a decision for you.
