Make no mistake about it, this is one heavy duty boot. And heavy. I can tell it's going to take a while to break these in, can't wait until they are broken in! They run very large, like a full size imo. I had to put a liner in them because 7 is the smallest they make now.

These boots take some time break in. They gave me really bad blisters the first time I wore them for some extended city walking but I'm sure that once the leather breaks in, they will be perfect!

I have this boot in multiple colors and love them all. the black seems a little more stiff than the other colors i have. there is a bit of a break in period to this boot but they will last forever.

Size down a half size. Give yourself some time to break in the shoes. I would buy these again. Great quality leather. Simple, form fitting, and comfortable.

Redwing's are one of best boots made...durable, comfortable although I wish they'd add a soft insert, stylishly vintage, and can be worn for work or casually. They're awesome boots. My only complaint is that I got the smooth sole. They are useless on ice and snow here in Wisconsin but the trade off is I don't pick up mud or farm manure around the farm in the summer time.

The shoes are sharp! If you are normally size 11, you need to buy a half size down to 10.5 They are slightly narrow but once broken in they fit perfectly.... I was happy I bought them through zapped.

They are very large. Definitely a size larger than what you would normally purchase. They are very stylish, I have had a lot of compliments on them already. The arch support is fine, nothing exceptional, but these are not running shoes so it is less important. I find that I have to wear thick, long socks or else I get blisters.

Boots looked and felt well made. I wear 13 EE and they are spot on size wise with regular thickness socks, but there is enough room to wear a thicker boot/hiking sock if needed. They were comfortable out of the box for me. The top of the ankle is stiff at first and does need a little break in time to be fully comfortable. Note that the Briar Oil Slick color does scuff and wear easily if you are purchasing them as fashion boots. I don't see this as a problem if they are your work boots. The sole is very soft which makes them comfortable, but I don't anticipate them lasting long. Overall a nice boot. I took one star for overall do to soft sole, but realize a stiffer sole would affect comfort.

I have had these boots for 8 months. I didn't wear them much at first. They are heavy but they look great with jeans and probably kakis. They are very good quality and stylish. My sister agreed. If they were less pricey I would buy another pair. Also wish they came in a charcoal gray.

These are the best-looking shoes I've ever had. Haven't had them for long, but get a lot of compliments on them. But these are probably the least comfortable shoes I've ever worn. They flat out hurt. Blister city on the heels for the first few wears. I started getting some moleskin protection for the back of my foot and that helped, but they still hurt for another few wears. Then the rim of the shoe - at the top, where it is flush against your high ankle - started digging into the side of my ankle and hurting like a son of a gun. Didn't really figure out a way to protect against that. But after about 6 weeks (wearing 2-3 days per week), it seems to be getting comfortable and I didn't notice any discomfort the last time I wore them. I am very glad they're starting to get all right, because they are awesome shoes. Also, I got the size I usually wear (12) and it destroyed my heel very quickly. I had some heavy duty blisters after about 20 minutes of wearing. I exchanged them for 11.5s - much better fit, notwithstanding the breaking in period.

Happy w/ purchase. It took a little while to break in, I'm in between narrow and wide, if I was ordering again it would be wider. I'm a 13 in Nike and 12 in Red Wing!

Although a bit heavy, these boots feel like sneakers when they strike the ground. I'm flat-footed and noticed that a number of people stated that these had moderate arch support. I suspect that's because that was the closest choice. The arch support isn't remarkable. That is that I don't have the inclination to say they have no arch support (because there's a little something there) nor to say there is any (something there but not that much). In any case, I put Spenco replacement insoles in there to give me extra support. But don't get it twisted; the shoes are comfy without the insoles. The rugged, worn look is awesome. I "ruined" that a little by putting mink oil on them because I plan on wearing them in mild-moderate precipitation from time to time. My hope is that as I wear them, the leather will become weathered (poetry). But the mink oil didn't make them look bad; it just made it look restored, which is not necessarily the look you're going for when you buy the Copper Rough & Tough versions. I love these as casual shoes. Makes me look like a guy who knows how to rescue America with his bare hands. Overall, these are just classics. I'm a very understate guy who's into fashion somewhat. Weird, right? But I love looking good, but I don't like people thinking I even tried. I love hoodies, nice fitting jeans, and quality leather boots. And fancy face lotions, modest colognes, but not eyebrow waxing.

Really nice boots. The pair I received was used and obviously worn. Dirt on soles and creased, and not in original box. I wou.d have sent them back, but there is no replacement in stock.

Red Wing Heritage 6" Moc Toe - Men's size 7 W (EE): These seem to be very well made boots. The leather is thick and stiff; these boots will need breaking in to be comfortable; they will not be comfy from the first wearing. The Moc Toe construction gives good height in the toe box for those, like me, whose toe nails grow up as they grow out, or those, who like me, wiggle their toes upwards as they walk. The tread depth is fair. The gusset is not overly generous in the Men's 7 W (EE) and it was a very tight fit to get my high-arched Women's 9 WW feet in. Also, these boots are eyelets all the way up; no easy-lace hooks at the ankle or at the top of the boot. The laces were a bit short; in order to totally open the boot to try to get my feet in, the upper eyelets unlaced - which is annoying when tiightening laces and tying, if you want or need the boot laced all the way up. I decided to return these because I really was looking for a late-fall, early-winter boot & I wanted more tread on the sole and at least a bit of insulation in the foot of the boot. I am thankful that Zappos makes returns REALLY EASY

Beautiful leather. Some might find the toebox awkward looking as it appears very high. Far too narrow for my feet.

I owned a pair of these for decades and they were great. The new shoes are much more stiff in every way. I wish they still made them the old way, which was thinner but more comfortable.

Really like the shoe but am disappointed with the consistency. I literally had to order four (4) pairs of the Heritage Moc Toe boot because even though they were the same size (9 men), the left shoe was noticeably shorter than the right. On one of the reorders, the sole of the shoes were ~1.5 cm narrower in width than the other boots. I'm docking Red Wing 2 stars for making me go through the hassle (thank you Zappos! for making returns easy though) and $1,200 worth of shoes to get it right.

Beautiful boot. Great craftsmanship and quality. I would say it runs a little narrow in the toe box and wide in the heel.

Let me start by saying that I love the comfort that Red Wing provides. This model is my 2nd pair from heritage line and first using the classic Red Wing wedge sole. I ordered these in mid January of 2016 and here I am in mid June contemplating on getting them resoled. The best part is I work in a office setting. I choose Red Wing for comfort and because I can wear them with jeans or slacks. Never did I think I would need new soles before the 1 year mark! Has their sole supplier gone downhill?

Having read many reviews on these boots that said buy half a size down. Not for me. I wear from a 8 to 8.5. So I got them in a 8. Bottom line I needed a 8.5. Same heel slip. But they feel comfy. Yes, they need to be broken in. They feel good on my feet at this size. So for me a larger size was needed (8.5). So if they do not feel good on your feet when you get them, get a different size. Great fit and finish on these boots. They look and feel like they will last a lifetime.

Great boots, as all have said. After having both wings and thorogoods, I would never be caught spending 250 for these when you can get an equally good if not better Thorogood for 100 dollars less. American made, and used personally every day for work for past 2 years. Easily over 1500 miles on them, and all they need is new soles. Save your money.

The top of the boot is very stiff and digs into the back of the calf when walking, even when the top holes are not laced. Had to return them. Fit is too wide. Love the Redwing shoes but they don't make them any more. Trying to find boots that are like their old M width shoes.

Fit was ok but there is no padding in the footbed or on the tongue like the last pair I had. Didn’t realize it till it was too late to return but I wouldn’t recommend these to anyone who wants comfortable boots!
