I just wanted to give my 2 cents on the sizing of Red Wing Heritage boots because I've seen some crazy advice! I own both the Moc Toe and the Iron Rangers. I believe its called the Brannok device (Im sure I spelled it wrong) but get yourself sized by that device and whatever it says your size is get the Moc toe in that. In the Iron Rangers size down a half size and expect a little extra toe room in the toe box. Its pretty simple

Perfect fit ... (knowing that I definitely needed to order one FULL SIZE down from what I normally wear.)

Shoes are stiff at first but are starting to break in nicely (as good leather does). They are very study and a bit on the heavy side. Definitely runs at least a 1/2 size big.

Due to the leather used in these boots, the boots originally are quite rigid. That being said, once broken in, they’re a dream. Sales reps at the Red Wing store advises it will likely take 100 hours of wear time to have these boots broke in, which had proven true to my experience. The heel cup seemed to rub a bit prior to breaking in, so I wore a piece of duck tape on the hot spot of my heel until things loosened up. Additionally, if you have a soft ball or bocce ball lying around you can put that in your boot and lace it up over night to aid in breaking them in more quickly. Since I have wider feet, the area across the ball to small toe is a bit tight and will require some additional wear to loosen up. Main thing is not to buy these right before you go hiking and wear them out of the box. You will be regretting your decision for a while. With the proper break in time though, you will thoroughly enjoy these boots! Cheers!

Great boots, comfortable right out of the box.

My husband normally wears size 12, so we ordered 11D and it was too narrow for him. We had to return it for 10.5 EE. He does not usually wear wide shoes, but in these, he had to. Also, he has never had to size down so much before.

Like most well made boots, they took a little while to break in, but they broke in great and are very comfortable. I do a fairly good amount of walking in them throughout the day while at work and they don’t hurt my feet at all despite wearing them about 11 hours a day. I also think they look better now after almost a year of wear compared to when they were new... they age nicely. My first pair was the copper rough and tough color and I just ordered the concrete rough and tough. lol forward to getting them broken in!

I'm returning these since they are a little too chunky looking for my personal style, but this is a beautiful pair of boots that has a fantastic leather (copper rough and tough) that looks like it would get a great patina in a relatively short period of time. Definitely appears to be a good value for the boot that will last for years.

Waited far too long to purchase a true pair of Red Wing Boots. Excellent quality. Great service, first pair was a tad too large, seamless exchange.

Great boot! Took a good three weeks to fully break in, but I must say that these boots are top notch. By far the best casual boot I have ever owned. Period end of story

2nd pair of Red Wing boots, first pair still going strong 10 years, 2 factory resoles and 1 replacement insole. All day comfort, lighter and better made than Timberland.

Took a good 2 weeks of wearing these before they started to feel softer. After that, I can honestly say these are my perfect work and casual shoes. I had to go a full size and a half down from my prefered athletic shoes. I would suggest going down at least one size.

Great boots. Not sure how well they would hold up to daily abuse on a construction site but perfect for the office and an occasional site visit.

These boots are amazing. Very hard to break in but they are wonderful after that.

These boots are fantastic! High quality leather that will take some time to break in like a new baseball glove. The only cons I have with these boots are they're not waterproof and the break in period is pretty rough on the feet which is why I only gave them 4 stars for comfort. The quality of the leather, stitching, and craftsmanship of these boots is incredible. After I break in these boots they will be an absolute dream. These are the kinds of boots you will have for many years. They are the best boots I have ever owned and would highly recommend them.

I absolutely value the craftsmanship that went into handcrafting these boots. Never quite owned anything like this pair of MOC toe red wing heritage boots. Break in process reminds me of buying high quality baseball gloves or any high quality leather goods that require hours of break in time. Granted, these Boots are stiff and a little uncomfortable at first and I usually don't ever like to compromise my comfort / body mechanics but it's a matter of time that the leather on these boots will open up and fit like a glove. I am so impressed with the design and cant wait until the boots mold to my feet. These boots are so fashionable I'm already getting loads of compliments 2 days into wearing them. If you're after quality and prestige do not hesitate to buy these boots. It's worth a shot in my opinion. I'm hoping the soles hold up well but it's not the end of the world if I had to replace them once a year- Definitely beats having to swap out of sub par quality shoes that only last a year or two. Plus it's made in the USA! Makes me proud every time I lace em up! I just want to thank zappos for their great customer service and fast shipping. Love these boots! The quality is A1. Defiantly go full size down or size and a half. I were a 11 in Nike running sneakers and I got these in a 9 1/2 and they fit perfect. Also I am a 10 in LL beans boots and timberland boots. And a thank you to Zappos for the free next day air and easy size exchange.

I got these for my boyfriend and he loves them. Got these in his normal size, but he said half a size smaller would prob fit better because heel slippage. But overall love the boots and will last a long time. They look better the more rugged and worn they are!

I love these boots so much, the soles are soft, and I can already feel the leather wearing to the shape of my feet. I'm anticipating they'll be super comfortable before too long. I love the way they look and the quality of construction! I was skeptical about how small they run despite the other interviews and I ordered a size 11 and an 11 1/2 to see for myself. I normally wear a size 12 sneaker and the heel was slipping in the 11 1/2...so a full size was right!
