Like many of the reviewers here, my calves were always a problem for me when buying boots. I was always on the fence about these rainboots, but after I read Sylvia's comments (a few below mine) I was finally convinced to buy it. I am 5'0 and have calves around 16 inches. These are the most comfortable rain boots, ever, especially around my calf. I can wear them with skinny jeans. Many reviewers also commented on the baggy ankles, but they aren't bad enough to the point that I would return them. As far as Zappos shipping, it was fast and prompt as always. Ordered it Saturday night and received it Monday afternoon. I would definitely recommend.

Can't find the Huntress in the stores, and they're great! Wider at the calf and not too short. They're perfect.

Love the boots and Zappos gave me incredible service! Regarding the boot, we ordered a full size smaller and it fit perfectly. Came at a perfect time - blizzard in the south!

Overall I'm very happy with my Huntress boots, having tried the traditional Hunters for women and finding them just too tight in the calfs. The Huntress boots are quite loose around the ankle/upper foot area, so they are ideal for thick heavy socks. I recommend them!

I love my Hunters! They are so comfortable, and are perfect for the snowy, slushy days of Chicago. I bought my exact size, (7) and they fit perfect! I bought black and they do tend to get ash looking and I need to wipe them down. As noted in the note from the company. Love them!

I purchased these as a gift for my sister. I ordered a size 8 when she's actually a size 8½, and they fit her perfectly. Works well for fuller calves, too! I wish these came in a shorter version, considering I'm 5'2. My sister says they gave her a blister on the back of her ankles, but that's because she wore ankle socks with them. Shipping was super fast, too.

Wonderful winter/rain boots. They do a great job of keeping your feet dry but keeping them warm is another story. If you plan on wearing these in deep snow, I'd suggest buying Hunter's boot socks; they're worth it. As far as the width in the calf goes these are noticeably more roomy than the original. And much like the other revexcess there is excess room in the ankle area but not enough to necessitate returning them.

Love these boots! Extremely comfortable and very cute. Definitely order a size down if you are a half size. I wear and 8½ normally, and the size 8 is plenty big enough. Highly recommended!

These are great looking boots. I wear a 7, ordered both size 6 and 7 (thank you Zappos!) and ended up returning the 7. Half sizes would be ideal, but luckily the 6 worked for me by a hair.

I wanted to really love this boot after the Hunter turned out to be too tall for my 5'4" legs, but there was too much room in the ankle and my feet felt like they were swimming around in there. The form of the boot is not nearly as firm as with the classic boot.

Like most of the other women here, I have athletic calves and the original Hunter's (in such delicious colors) were too small at the top, so I ordered the Huntress. I too am sorely disappointed by Hunter's lack of foresight in the color department. We tall, athletic, stylish women want more options! I ordered the navy, which was the best of the three, in my opinion. It's just funky enough. The fit makes these worth it, though. They're closer to the real Wellington work boots -- a larger heel perfect for walking, sturdy soles, just tall enough. I heartily recommend these but really wish Hunter would pay more attention to the colors of this style.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these boots! I have fuller calves and had such a hard time finding a pair of stylish rain boots to fit until I found these! My only complaint - I wish they made more colors available in the Huntress style.

These rain boots are great. They are very stylish and very comfortable. I would recommend buying one size smaller than you normally wear. The only negative is that white protective coating that comes on the boots. I heard there is a spray now sold to remove it but I use Armor All spray and it does wonders!

I originally ordered the Hunter original boots in an 8. I often have issues fitting my muscular calves into boots, and these were no different. I returned the others and ordered these Huntress boots instead, and they fit perfectly. I was worried they looked too wide and goofy but on my calves, they look just like the others. Plus, they're not as tall as the others.

Love these boots! I ordered the originals and they were too narrow, the Huntress fit perfectly over skinny jeans. Good fit. Cute and tons of comments.

These boots are amazing! They go with everything, and fit like a glove! The shaft is extra roomy, so I can wear them with bulky socks or tuck in my jeans. I highly recommend these to anyone in the market for rain boots.

Tried the regular Hunter boots in a dept store last year - they fit but were very snug with no room to tuck in pants - not good for rain boots! The Huntress boots are roomy enough to tuck in my jeans with even a little space to spare. I normally wear a size 8 and ordered the 8. It is a little big and on the wide side, but that works okay for my slightly wide feet if I wear thick socks. Wish these came in all (or at least some) of the fun colors, however. Love Zappos!

Most days, I hope it rains just so I can wear these boots. Before purchasing, I tried on the traditional women's Hunter boots (not Huntress cut) and they came up too high. They cut in to the back of my thigh when I sat down, and they were tighter than the Huntress cut that I decided to purchase. These are the perfect height - just above mid-calf - and they are wider at the top so my pants can fit inside. They are wide at the ankle, but it doesn't bother me. I think it's actually more comfortable that way so that the boots are more flexible.

After reading all the reviews, I decided the Huntress might fit me a bit better than the traditional Hunter. I was glad I went with the Huntress. Fits me great, I can fit my jeans in there with no problem! I am 5'7", about 135lbs just for reference to others buying. I just wish they came in other colors as well. I love them. Worth every cent.

I returned my Hunter boots for these Huntress boots, both in US size 8. I normally wear 8 and 1/2, and I think that going with 8 is definitely correct. I had originally gotten the Hunter boots in aubergine which I loved, but they were indeed a big snug. I have slightly athletic calves, so the Hunter boots fit alright, but only against my bare leg without any sort of thick socks or tall pants tucked in. I exchanged them for these Huntress boots in navy. I do wish Hunter made the Huntress in more colors, but the navy is nice. I can easily fit my jeans and sweatpants in these boots, and it feels much more comfortable. I do wish they were a tiny bit taller, but I'm quite tall, so I may be in the minority on that point.

They're great, smell rubber like hell, but they're great. They feel half size larger (after reading dozens of reviews I went for EU38, which is half size smaller than my normal size and they're perfect). The calf width is fine, I wouldn't be able to tuck in jeans without making boots look bulky, especially when putting them on after 8 hours sitting in an office. I'm glad Huntress exists, because I'm sure I wouldn't be able to wear originals, no chance.

These fit perfectly! They accommodate skinny jeans with no problem at all. I did notice a slight white-ish tinge in some areas like other reviews mentioned, but it really isn't that noticeable and it just enhances the character of the boot. If you have a normal sized leg, and would like to tuck your skinny jeans into your boots (obviously, right?!), I would highly recommend these.

I received my Hunter Huntress boots in the mail yesterday. I have a calf size that is bigger than most normal boots but not so large that they fit large wide calf boots. These boots fit perfectly! They are comfortable and I am excited about using them in the winter months ahead.

These boots are waterproof, not water resistant, which is hard to find nowadays. Comfortable enough for a light hike in them and reasonable support. Could be more support, but I'm not complaining.

I love these boots. They fit my calves, and are pretty comfy. I ordered up because I want to wear thick sock, and they seem true to size. Arch support is minimal, but I expected that in a rubber boot.
