These boots are awesome. I was torn between these and a cheaper pair of Crocks rain boots, but I'm glad I splurged and went with the Hunters. They are stylish and held up great over a rainy weekend camping. They are super comfortable. I was also unsure if I should get the regular size or the Huntress. I have what I consider pretty average sized calves but went with the Huntress so I wouldn't have a problem with tucking in pants, etc. I like the Huntress, I feel I made the right choice. Plenty of room to tuck in, but not overly huge.

I really love these boots, just wish they were a bit bigger in the calf area. I am normally a 9.5 and I ordered size 9 after reading some of the reviews. The fit of the shoe is just right. Enough room for a thick sock, but the calf is very snug. I can fit skinny jeans and leggings inside, but there is not even a little gap. They look great, feel great (super comfy), and fit great. If they were just a half inch wider around the calf they would be perfect. Size 10 may do the trick, but I did not feel like returning and was concerned that the fit of the shoe would be too big.

I had previously tried on the original Hunters at a department store and was basically mortified I could not get my calf inside so you can imagine I was immediately turned off by Hunters. Once I found out about the amazing Huntress boots with the roomier calf, I had to investigate. After reading such rave reviews on Zappos, I placed my order. I am on the shorter side (about 5'3) and am pretty average weight, perhaps on the heavier side. My calves are bigger than a lot of girls my height and I do have a larger, more muscular build all around. First off, I must say how shockingly fast these shipped. I placed my order late at night on a Monday, and they were at my door Wednesday afternoon. I chose the lovely green color. I love the semi-glossy finish and the overall look of them...they are cute from any angle! They are comfy, especially with a pair of thicker socks. I also decided to order the Welly socks in red for the upcoming cold months. I had no problems folding the Welly socks over the tops of the Huntress boots, as I know other people had mentioned. They are very comfy and look adorable with the boots. I am so happy with the fit of the boots also. Previous reviewers recommended to order down a size and I am so glad I did. I am normally a 7 in flat shoes/boots and can wear 6.5 in heels, so I ordered a 6 in the Huntress and they are perfect. The only thing I could say might be a problem with some people is the feel of them when walking. They do bunch up a little bit and kind of "flop," but nothing I would ever consider returning them for. I cannot wait to wear these on a regular basis and pair them with the Wellys when it gets cold!

These are great! The wider calf is perfect for someone who barely fits in the regular hunters but wants to wear pants, too. :)

I LOVE my hunter boots! I was scared the huntress, with the larger calf, would look weird, but they look absolutely normal and I always get compliments on how nice they are. I live in New York so I walk a lot and these never give me blisters and really comfortable. I use them in the summer. I use them in the winter with the welly socks and they keep me nice and warm.

I have freakishly large calves for a size 4 petite. These boots fit comfortably for me and are shorter than the Original Tall boot. They are slightly roomier on the feet but are tolerable with thicker socks. The green boots are very classic and adds a nice subtle pop of color to all outfits.

I love these boots and I'm super excited about them. I normally wear a 7 or 7.5 in shoes and purchased a size 7 for the huntress boots; there is a lot of room in the foot, ankle and calf so I purchased the hunter boot liners to make them feel a little more snug. They are still a little loose but I like them that way, so if you're looking for a tighter fit purchase a half of a size smaller than you normally would.

I love these rain boots. I was tired of getting my shoes and pants completely soaked when it rained so I looked for a good pair of rain boots. These are great and I love that the leg opening is large. I had the hardest time getting the Hunter Original boots off (without my pants in the boots). The Hunter Huntress boot are perfect for fitting around my leg and for putting my jeans into the boot. However, I thought I needed the 8 but after a year or so of wearing them I think I should have gotten size 7. I always get my shoes a little bigger because I don't like my shoes snug. My mom recently got two different sizes of Hunter rain boots from Zappos and so I tried the 7's on and it confirmed that I should have gone with those to begin with. With the 8's being a little bigger my feet move back and forth a little bit and I get that burning feeling. In the next few months I will probably buy a pair of 7's and use for 8's for letting the dog out and such. So my advice is order two sizes (since Zappos offers free shipping) and keep the ones where your toes go all the way to the end. You do not need the little bit of extra room. Trust me.

These boots are great! They fit my larger 15½" calves with no problem. They definitely run a little large though. I usually wear a size 8 in just about every other pair of shoes but per the feedback on other reviews I ordered a size 7 and they fit absolutely perfectly. This was a great purchase!

These shoes are wonderful! I tried about 10 rain boots before I found the perfect rain boots for wide calves. They are comfortable around the calf and around the foot as well. The ankle is a bit big, but otherwise I couldn't complain. They go about 3/4 of the way up the calf on me. Great boots!

I got these boots to protect me from rain and snakes while I work in Costa Rica this summer and it looks like they're going to be perfect. So they do run large -- I'm generally a 10, I ordered a 9 and they fit perfectly (FYI I tried on my friends size 9 original Hunter boots and I couldn't even get my foot in -- sizing is different between original and huntress!). I'm 6 ft tall and the boot hits probably about 4 inches below my knee. I have athletic calves, which is why I opted for the huntress over the original, but I still have about two fingers worth of space between my leg and the boot. They kind of make a slappy noise when I walk, but I think that will be fixed with socks. The sole is also kind of narrow, so it doesn't feel super stable, but the material is super flexible and I think they will be easy to pack. All in all, a great rain boot that looks good with shorts, dresses, jeans, leggings while still being very functional.

After reading the reviews I ordered the original Hunter boots in a 9 as most reviewers said they ran half a size big and I take a 9.5. My calf is a pretty standard size and I've never had a problem fitting into normal boot shafts. When I got the original Hunters the shafts were extremely narrow, which would have made tucking jeans or twill pants into them uncomfortable, and the size 9 was much too small. So I got the Huntress in the 10 and they were perfect. I love these boots. I wear them primarily for gardening and in dirty barns and they're perfect. They slide on and off easily, they're comfortable, and keep my feet and legs dry, clean, and tick-free in the woods. I haven't had them long so I can't speak to durability.

I bought these boots size 6 but were too big to me. I chatted with live help; he was very kind and helpful. Really nice customer service, and this boot is really comfortable and very stylish. I really want to recommend to friends. Thank you Zappos.

I have a 15" calf and at first ordered the regular Hunter boots, which barely went on over my calf and were very snug. I returned those and found these for bigger calves and they fit perfectly. Love them!

I love these boots. Unfortunately I don't wear them often. They are still kind of tight on my calves. I think I will try getting the adjustables and see how those work out.

Awesome boots! I'm 5'4" and the tops of the Huntress don't touch my knees. Wore them to Busch Gardens all day and they are super comfortable!

Classic and classy all at the same time. I would recommend sizing down .5 size. I originally got the regular Hunters and they would not fit around my calves. I do not have muscular legs at all and am not fat, so I was upset. These are the perfect alternative to the Hunters.

I love my new Hunters! After reading other reviews, I opted for the Huntress as I am a size 10/12 female with woman-shaped calves. These fit like a dream, I'm able to wear them with tights or leggings, but still have room to tuck my jeans into them as well. I am normally as size 9.5/10 depending on the brand, and going with past reviews again, I opted for the 9 and they for perfectly. I also can't speak highly enough of Zappos and free 1 day shipping, email updates & tracking, and a free return if I needed it. I love both my boots and Zappos!

I love my Hunter wellies! I have had the Huntress boots for about three years now and they have worn quite well. When I first bought them I was a little apprehensive, given their price tag, especially considering that they are now made in China, and not the UK. I went for them anyway and I am glad I did! They are definitely stylish but very functional as well. I have walked through mud, sand, snow, and high water in these (New Englander) and they have really held up. Great for the garden, walking dogs and wearing around town! The buckles have become a little rusty now but it adds to their charm. I went with the Huntress over the Original Hunters due to the extra calf room. I'm 5'8" with 16" calves and the Originals were just a tad too snug. Definitely a good investment and worth shelling out the money!

Super fast shipping! Great boots! Tried the regular Hunter and those were a little too tight for comfort but these are nice and roomy for an easy slip on and off.

An excellent boot. Thick, high quality rubber. Goes thru mud, water, snow, etc. with great traction. So easy to clean. Can only walk thru snow for a bit however, you will get cold quickly in these. They hold cold, and hold heat. They are nice and wide on top for a great fit for larger calves. I don't get the strap, but I don't care. Feel cute as a button and protected from yuck while cleaning out the chicken coop in these! Highly recommend!

So I hate when you watch the video and it looks really "loose" on the model. Well, yeah, because she has tiny stick figure legs. If you're a woman like me, with curves, then you will love these Hunters. I originally had the tall original Hunter boots, in Pink from 2005 (ah, such a trend setter) but then I noticed that they fit my feet but were way too tight in the calves. I could really only wear them with thin socks. With the Huntress, I wear those fun Hunter socks which is totally worth it if you're using them as I do for snow boots. If you are using these for snow boots and do not wear the socks your feet will get really cold really fast. But with the Hunter socks, they almost get too hot! If you are debating between these or the "regular" Hunter boot, I would say to measure your calf circumference and look at the dimensions for each. I know that everyone says that they don't like the ankle on this boot as opposed to the original. Sadly I agree, and that would be my only negative. But I get tons of compliments!

I love these boots and I wear a 5.5 or 6 in American size. In my tall riding boots I always have to order a 6.5 to accommodate my thick calves, so I was dubious. These huntress are great! The only issue I had is that the sides looked very worn and as if the green color were worn completely off. Is this normal with rubber wellies? Zappos was great and is sending placement.

This review is for all the girls out there that think they can't wear Hunter boots because they are to tight in the calf. These boots are the bomb. They are big enough in the calf and around the top of the boot for athletic or bigger legs. The originals are so tight around the top, and I personally do not have what I think are large legs, but the originals were way too tight. The Huntress has fewer color options, but I have both the matte finish and gloss finish in several colors, and have to say I prefer the matte. You can dress these boots up or down. I put a sheepskin liner in the bottom of my Hunter's so they don't seem sloppy loose. It is a perfect fit. You won't go wrong with these boots. I have four pair in different colors. They do run just a bit on the larger size so be careful. Enjoy

I am 5' 9" with athletic calves and I always have problems finding boots to fit my legs. The Hunter Originals were, alas, too small-- I was hoping they would work because of the dizzying array of colours but it just wasn't going to happen. However, I am thrilled with the only other option for us big-calved folks-- the Huntress! The shaft is just a few inches shorter and the width is perfect. It balances out my legs perfectly and the lower shaft eliminates the chance of rubbing around the knee (that I've heard is a problem with the original). The color is very vibrant. I was pleasantly suprised at the arch support; I've walked around in these all day with no complaints. They're also surprisingly warm-- when I took them off after coming in from the January air, it was like I had just stood over an AC and my calves were freezing; the difference is that pronounced. I love these boots and would heartily recommend them to anyone. Thanks for my Christmas present, Ma and Dad!
