Well I believe I rated these prematurely. Originally I gave them high scores. Then a week into owning them my feet hurt so badly that I had to take a week off running. I had to return them. I really like the quality of the build, but they just were not comfortable.

These shoes have felt great for two days now. But my feet now hurt so badly that I cannot wear them. I spent a lot of money for nothing I am very unhappy with New Balance!

Within a few days, the flap of the sole that comes up over the toe came detached causing a tripping hazard. Zappos is kindly replacing them.

I live in a great deal of pain and consider myself one of the most difficult people to find any shoes to fit due to numerous spine injuries, surgery and cancer. After 8 years and a 12+ pairs of Nike shoes I finally decided to go with this 6E NB. I previously wore only NB and only by chance ended up getting a pair of Nike Air Zoom Steens via Altrec (before Zappos carried Nike). Those were by far, the very best pair of running shoes I ever owned. However, Nike changed the next four styles that fit me in 13D over the years, and after many attempts ordering from Zappos, I finally found this shoe to fit nicely with a Dr. Scholl's pain relief insole placed under the NB insole to take up some of the extra room, plus the added cushion on the heel feels good. The instep is not nearly as cushy as the Nike was, nor is it nearly as plush feeling as my last two pair of Nike Vomero 4's. I also found two pair of Clark XW shoes from Clark USA, as no one else carried the two Clark models I wanted in XW. Thankfully, there was this option for a truly XW shoe. While not thrilled with the color and style, I am pleased to find any shoe that fits without causing more pain than I already deal with. I would have bought the NB 927 in 6E Brown (white in 11.5 6E was perfect), but a pair has not come up as an option for purchase. However, I still would have wanted a pair of mesh shoes for summer. One other item worth mentioning to those living in a lot of pain. I bought hundreds of dollars of socks the past two years. The best of all those purchased and by far the most comfortable was the 60% Merino wool lite hiker by Wigwam in black. I only found this particular sock at Army Navy. The colors do make a difference in comfort and feel. Marked as fitting men to size 15 (XL), I find this to be as tight as I would be able to wear at 6', 215 lbs. I also found out you may need to adjust your monitor to actually see some of the details on the darker shoes. It was not until I called and asked how to resolve the issue that I realized I needed to adjust the monitor for shopping. Most comfortable workout/walking shoe I've ever had. I bought second pair 2 days after buying first pair. I have wide foot and high instep and they fit great. Danced in them at playboy jazz festival, also wearing it on Trikke carving vehicle. Got positive feedback on stylish appearance from daughter and fiance.

Couldn't be happier. This shoe was a present for my dad who is extremely hard to fit. After trying them on, he handed me his old shoes (which were still fairly new) and told me to give them away. He said the new shoes were very comfortable and the mesh sides gave it added width. He absolutely loves them.

Sneakers - These sneakers are great for bad feet. I use orthos and they fit well in the sneaker. Very stable sneaker. Drawback expensive but worth it.

MR1123 - I love this shoe. This is the third pair I have ordered. The width and feel is great.

Perfect For My Flat Feet!!! This is the first shoe that I have ever bought that gets close to providing the support and comfort that I desire. The mesh sides give even more room for the width of my foot. Also, the insert is removable so I can pop in my orthotics. I wish they had different color schemes, but the comfort the shoe provides overrides how the shoe looks. If you have overpronation, you need to try this shoe. Also, it looks a bit like you have platform shoes since the back of the shoe rises a bit, but again the comfort and the lightness (weight wise) of the shoe makes it an absolute winner.

COMFORTABLE!!! I am only 40 but I have suffered from a number of foot ailments and I have diabetes, so finding the right footwear has never been easy. When I noticed that I was developing a small bunion, I was sure that I would never find a comfortable sneaker with a wider toe box that didn't look like an ortho shoe. I do not want the bunion to get worse because I do not want surgery! I bought this sneaker in a wide (I always wore a medium) and it is PERFECT! The toe box is wide and the ball of the foot is comfortably cushioned. The arch offers great support. The incline is comfortable and keeps my heels from aching. They look odd from the bottom because of the wide shape, but who really looks at the bottom of your shoe? I highly recommend these sneakers.

Solid Shoe - As with most NB products, very comfortable and fits well. This shoe did run wider and longer than I normally order. Excellent quality once I had the right size.

I prescribe these for my patients - Many people suffer from postural abnormalities on the foot that have a far reaching effect in the foot, ankle, knees, hips, and low back. The New Balance 1123 shoes correct these postural abnormalities. Therefore, reducing stress on the structures above. By correcting these postural stressors, you reduce mechanical forces and reduce degenerative changes.

New Balance you can count on - Reliable New Balance shoes; these were ordered for my husband as he's bought New Balance for many years. He did say these weren't quite as comfy as the previous 1122, but very good just the same. Lots of good support and cushion for walking distances.

Ah! Sweet Relief - I have a flat wide foot (4E) with very bad over pronation. My feet hurt so bad that one I wanted to cut my right foot off I was in so much pain! All the foot doctors I have seen recommend New Balance. I read the reviews on the 1123 and thought I have got to try this shoe. I place my order on a Sunday and my shoes arrived Tuesday just as I was heading out to work. I put the 1123 on and worked a 12hour shift as a nurse without pain. This is the best shoe I have worn in all my 26 years as a nurse. What a difference in the pain. It helps to put my foot in the right position. I am getting another pair of these shoes ASAP!

Excellent - I have flat feet and neurological problems in my feet. This shoe enhances my custom orthotics and its construction and appearance are better than the Brooks Beast which is also a great shoe. Makes walking easier when in pain. All of my other footwear is now obsolete.

Great shoes - Feels like walking on air. Love these shoes and will always order from Zappos. Super fast shipping. Ordered one evening and received the next day.

Best Walking Shoe - Far better than a running shoe for walkers. I am an ex-runner who can only walk for my aerobic workouts. I have heel pain in my left foot, and with this shoe there is no heel pain at all! The shoes felt comfortable out of the box. This is a first for me. Plus, they run truer to one's actual size than other brands. Get them! You won't be disappointed.

Very comfortable yet sturdy and easy to walk around. Good toe width and depth just as advertised. The package arrived the next day.

I bought these shoes to walk on my treadmill. They do look slightly funny as the soles do not have the usual instep cut-out and they look somewhat like they might be on the wrong foot.They work great, are very comfortable and fit to a tee however, so the odd look is overshadowed by their performance.

Sore feet needing comfort - This shoe provides good support, but needs another insole. Great shoes for some that pronate in because of the stiffer support on the outside of the shoe. I have been suffering form Plantar Fasciitis for the past 3 yrs & finding shoes has become very difficult. So far so good!

I purchased this shoe because it is made on one of the few lasts that fit my feet (NB SL-2 last). I have very wide feet and need both a wide toe box and a high instep. I have a high instep because of a relatively high arch. The shoe "fits" well, but the disappointment was that it has a flat shoe bed and the minimal, very thin insole has absolutely no arch support. If you need any arch support in an athletic shoe be prepared to buy replacement insoles from a third party. It was really disappointing in a shoe as expensive as this one. Neither the Zappos nor the New Balance web sites disclose the lack of arch support.

New Balance MR1123 - This shoe was good overall. I ordered it a little too wide therefore I have to wear an extra pair of socks. With this shoe I am still a New Balance man. The price was a little high compared to my other New Balance shoes

VERY comfortable - I wear a 13 4E and have completely flat feet. Impossible to find shoes that fit comfortably. I'm on my feet all day at work and these shoes don't leave me with tired, aching feet at the end of the day. Need to find a pair of New Balance as comfortable that would be more appropriate attire for work.
