Love them! I stand on concrete 9 hours a day and have been for many years. These are the first shoes I can honestly say make my feet and legs feel good. Thanks New Balance!

Love these shoes - I love New Balance shoes in general... these shoes are comfortable from the moment you put them on... look great with jeans or casual pants, great arch support and room for your toes. I hate shoes that don't allow for movement of the toes. These are nice and roomy. Great for people with wider feet.

Regarding sizing: I ordered two sizes and just as the website recommends, I needed to go up in size. In better dress shoes (Pliner, Weitzman, etc) I usually wear a 9.5 narrow. In sneakers and hiking I typically wear a 10 - 10.5, but in these I needed the 11 2A! Of course, these are heavier shoes for cool weather, so you'll wear a thicker sock with them. Otherwise, they are comfortable. There is lots of room in the toe area while remaining snug in the instep. They are a bit heavy and stiff, but I bought them to wear hiking in the mountains where I live. I'll also wear them to walk my dog on streets when it's snowy/icy. They are too heavy bulky for everyday wear, though.

I have feet issues that require me to wear inserts. I was tired of wearing tennis shoes and wanted something a bit nicer to wear with jeans. These shoes have been great! They were a little snug in the width when I first purchased them, but they've stretched out and are more comfortable, even with my inserts. I think they look great with my jeans, too! They are also comfortable when walking.

I bought a second pair of brown WW749 because I liked the first one so much. They are very comfortable and look good with casual pants. They run true to size, a little narrow and good arch support. This pair is more narrow than my first pair, so I am not as pleased with them for everyday wear.

I ordered this pair in 7.5 wide width. This pair of NB shoes are not wide at all. They felt okay on the carpet at home, but once I wore them to work the shoes became uncomfortable. You will need to order them a bit larger to accommodate for the narrow width! I could not send them back as I had worn them outside.

First pair I ordered was defective but return and replacement was flawless. Can't beat Zappos for customer service. Product review said order a half size larger, but I probably didn't need that extra length.

A real nice lighter-weight shoe for hiking/walking or any kind of outdoor work that doesn’t require a steel toe. From past experience, I knew that New Balance runs short so I always order a half size larger than what I normally wear. The 2A or N width was good (with good socks and laced up tight) considering these aren’t available in a 3A.

Nice, but smaller than marked - I wear a 12 narrow in dress shoes, and usually also in athletics. This only came in 12 medium, so ordered it. The width is great for my narrow foot, even in the heel, but the length is just a bit short. If only New Balance carried 12 1/2 and 13's!!!

Shoe review - The shoe is exactly what I was looking for - a casual shoe I could walk in, while wearing jeans, that didn't scream "tennis shoe." Surprised by the amount of stability; much more support than anticipated.

A bit ugly... A bit ugly but very, very comfortable. So comfortable I had to order another pair regardless of looks. Had to order a half size larger than I normally wear.

I usually wear a 9 narrow. I ordered a 10AA in this shoe because it runs small. I ordered 2 pair. The brown and green. Each fits totally different from the other. The brown is definitely narrower with less room in the toe box. Plus, my right big toe seems to touch the end, but not the left. I may keep the green pair even though they feel a bit wide. I can wear heavier socks. Still debating. They are NOT as cushy or comfortable as my beloved old 746s. And in those I wore a B which was strange. Why oh why can’t the sizes be consistent?

Sharp-looking walking shoes - These are very attractive shoes with accents in dark brown and spruce. They have a very sturdy sole that's good for light hiking and for walking on gravel and other uneven surfaces. The shoelace grommets are brass and are both sturdy and attractive. The shoe was tight at first but loosened up over the first few days of wear. My only minor complaint is a little bit of heel slippage, but overall it's been very comfortable to walk in.

Light Hiking Shoe - I love the look and feel of the shoe except that the ankle is cut too high and rubs. It gets slightly tender and is annoying, but not acutely painful. I do still wear them, but I would not buy them again.

Walker - I love the look of my new walkers and they provide great support for my hips, knees and ankles...I take a lot of 4-5 mile power walks and these walkers have been great...and the fit is true to size, accommodating my bunion.

Princess and the pea: Weird bump faces Achilles tendon - These are comfortable, sturdy, and lightweight. My only complaint is that under the Achilles tendon at the back of the shoe, there is foam padding to cover a place where various pieces are stitched together on the outside, but the padding doesn't prevent the bump from being felt. On my husband's pair of the same model, the lining wore away in that spot rather quickly. This shoe could accommodate orthotics if bought a half size up and one width wider than you would get otherwise.

I was expecting this shoe to run small based on previous reviews, but actually it seems a half size larger. I ordered a 9W, width is perfect but length a bit too long, but I guess now I don’t have to worry about wearing too thick socks. These shoes are perfect for chilly fall weather. I wish new balance offered these shoes in the wider last, SL2.

Great shoe with reservations - I got the wide width because this style has less room in the toe box than other New Balance shoes. Wide fits great in the front, but the heel is a little too wide. So my heel tends to slide around, which is less than optimal. My prior NB hikers were much more comfortable, but they're no longer available.

Much better looking than in the online picture! The shoe that looks tan online is NOT! It's an absolutely beautiful dark sage/khaki green. The only reason I had to return them was (my fault) I should have ordered a 1/2 size larger than I usually wear. Zappos handled everything from start to finish - order shipment, return, reshipment of exchange order - PERFECTLY IN EVERY WAY, AT LIGHT SPEED SHIPPING @ no extra charge. I LOVE NEW BALANCE & ZAPPOS!

Nice looking, good fitting shoe - This is a really nice shoe. It's nice to find an athletic shoe that isn't white, and that fits! Because I read other reviews that noted this shoe seemed to run 1/2 size smaller than marked, I ordered the 1/2 size larger and it's perfect. I have narrow heels and it doesn't slip there either. I would definitely recommend this shoe. Thank you Zappos for your great selection and excellent service!!!

Good shoe for winter weather - The shoe seems true to size and was comfortable from the start. I use it for routine activities when there is snow or ice on the ground and it is great. It looks good with casual clothes as well as heavy winter garb.

Great alternate to sneakers - I bought these with trepidation but now that I have them, I love the way they look and how comfortable they are. They are a great alternative to the look of regular sneakers.

Nice shoe, but at least a full size smaller than stated. I don't know what it is with athletic shoes but they all seem to run small, maybe the manufacturers are trying to save on materials. I don't usually have the problem with dress shoes or boots. If they fit I would most likely keep them as they're stylish and seemingly well made.

This shoe is not true to size. The width size is off. I suggest getting it one size larger in width for a good fit.
