These shoes are perfect for a light trail or just a long walk. Comfortable out of the box. I can count on the New Balance fit and these are no exception. There is plenty of room for a thicker sock. These feel true to size, no hot spots, and light on the feet. I am very satisfied. I buy most of my shoes from Zappos and am rarely disappointed. Shipping is sooooo fast!

Wonderfully comfortable shoes from the first moment I put them on. I wore them locally a few times to make sure there were no spots the shoes would cause rubs or blisters and they were perfect. I then took them on a 2 week trip to Europe and they were great. City and cobblestone walking were handled well and these shoes also could handle hills and moderate hiking in the countryside. Loved them.

Tried 'em on right away and they felt like broken-in slippers. Nice and roomy. Super-comfortable, yet supportive. I have a lot of foot problems, including severe arch and heel pain. These shoes don't hurt anywhere!! I tried on Propet and P.W. Minor's, but these New Balance were the best fit overall. The only other shoe that made my feet go "ahh" like this is Reiker's.

The shoes are good and they arrived very quickly. They are a little smaller than most 8 1/2 shoe sizes that I have worn but they are fine and aren’t too snug. My sister Linda says that this brad of shoe is long lasting and therefore worth the price. It's the only brand she will buy.

The New Balance WW749 is the MOST comfortable shoe I've ever worn. In fact, I own three pair. Great support combined with wonderful padded comfort over every inch of your foot. Comfort is an essential factor because I have two metal pins in the instep of one of my feet, and the wrong shoes can be painful and, of course, impossible to wear. I can walk for hours in these shoes and my feet feel great. Size and width are true to size.

These fit perfectly right away, requiring no break-in (and I have princess and the pea feet). Very comfortable, and a very roomy toe box. Pretty boring-looking, but will not offend. Ordered half size up, as always for New Balance.

This is actually the second pair of New Balance WW749s I've purchased. As a walking shoe, they are very comfortable and provide excellent support. New Balance products have always exceeded my expectations for durability and performance. My best friend recommended Zappos for superior and speedy service and I will happily pass along the same endorsement. Zappos commitment to excellence is terrific. Keep up the good work!

I bought the green pair in a 10B. I wear a size 9B in regular shoes, but always wear athletic shoes in a size bigger with socks that are as padded as I can find (Dr. Scholl's makes great ones!) I am quite disabled on the right side of my body and have a hard time when travelling and doing a lot of walking. I get blisters on my right foot and other such indignities, even when wearing other New Balance shoes. Went to Atlanta recently with this pair and had no such problems for once!! They are not the prettiest but they work the way shoes are supposed to - they give support and comfort! Maybe New Balance can make these in an off-white leather or such. A real find!! P.S. Always buy athletic shoes in a size bigger than your heels and flats.
