Kisumu - These sandals are not beautiful but so comfortable I don't want to take them off! They are the only shoes I want to wear so now I'll have to buy more, and they are expensive. I have some foot and lower back problems and even after just a few days I can feel the difference. I look forward to owning more of these wonderful shoes, am not sure which size to get because the sandals came up half a size smaller but I don't want the Raha to be too big if I get half a size larger than I usually wear. Great shoes, they are worth every penny.

Promising - I have a knee replacement and another one pending plus I have a fallen arch!I walk a lot and keep as active as I can. I have purchased so many types of shoes in hopes that they would give support to my feet plus reduce impact on knee and hip joints. A daunting task for a pair of shoes, certainly. So far, these MBTs are really doing the job! These MBTs along with my stand-by New Balance 900 series are great!

MBT is the best! I just had 2 disk surgeries following ruptures, my back became "frozen" and the surgeon gave up and sent me to a Physical Therapist who recommended, in addition to other treatment, that MBT's unique elliptical soles would help significantly. They're great! At first I watched the video that came with them and didn't believe the caution about break-in time so I just started walking--what a surprise when I found I used muscles that hadn't been used in a very long time! I don't wear them all the time, but take very long walks each day as part of my therapy and find they help tremendously. My next pair of shoes (we don't wear shoes often in South Florida) will be MBT's!

I love my MBTs! These are amazing sandals, super comfy/cushy and have helped me build muscle in my calves, thighs, gluts and abs! My husband didn't believe it at first but now he notices the difference... I have 2 pairs, these sandals and the Raha. Love them!

Most Comfortable Sandal - I love this shoe - it may not be stylish or sexy but it is very, very comfortable. I have a very narrow foot & was worried that is would be too wide but it fits great & very adjustable. I bought the tennis shoe style after but don't like it near as much.

I just took my MBT Kisumu for my first long walk, GREAT. I have severe chronic low back pain and all my MDs want me to walk rather than riding a bike, so I had started walking but continue to have new severe problems with metatarsal pain in both feet. After I finished my walk today, no metatarsal pain, GREAT. These shoes are worth every penny, they just seem to make me want to walk. And the Zappos staff was very helpful when I had to return a pair because they were too big and I got a smaller size. They look great and feel great. As some other reviewers said they could use a little more arch support. I also really like the velcro and the snap buckle so that once I get the tightness I like with the velcro; I can just use the snap buckle to put them on. Wow, thanks so much. I really really like these shoes and am going to order another pair so that I'll have an extra pair if something happens to these. Aloha.

Pamper your Feet - Comfortable, great fit, excellent support, it's like walking on air.

Best Shoes Ever! I have had my MBT for 5 months. My knees do not hurt while I wear them. They do on the days when it's too cold for an open toe shoe. Love these shoes.

MBT Kisumu - This is the third pair of these that I have gotten, because since I bought the first pair I don't really like to wear other shoes. The adjustable sandal design is good for wide feet, which is not true of the closed MBT models. If they made a style with a thong between the first and second toes and more arch support, it would be even better.

New user desperate for pain relief - I purchased these primarily to make sure I'm doing everything I can for my posture and walking due to some arthritis in my lower back and right hip pain that I fear might be the same. At work I'm standing all day so I want to give my feet/back/body the best support I can. I've been wearing Keen sandals and Dansko clogs and sandals for the past couple years and love them. While I don't like the looks of this brand, I was willing to overlook that aspect if they're as comfortable as people claim. I wore these in the house for the first couple days and found that after a half-day I was just tired of the effort. I noticed my upper thigh muscles engaging more. My ankles, which must be rather weak, got tired a little more quickly. Within a week I was wearing them all day and most of the fatigue is gone. It's been about three weeks now and I've barely worn anything else. The cushioning is great, the walking motion seems natural and easy, the arch support works for me even though my arches are a bit high. Looking down on them, they're not too bad. From the side they look like Frankenstein shoes to me but even my pickiest friends say they're not bad. I think brown would look more sandal-like and less orthotic-like. I think it's too early to tell if they'll help my pain but they certainly aren't hurting it.

Best walking sandal ever! My first pair of MBTs -- bought these at a local store two years ago when I finally needed to replace an old faithful pair of worn-out Mephistos. The salesman suggested I try these, saying they were the absolute best walking shoe they sold, and I was skeptical but figured I had nothing to lose by trying them on...well, my jaw dropped as soon as they went on my feet. I could literally feel my posture shifting as balancing on the rocker soles made me stand up straighter. I walked out of the store wearing them, with my old shoes in the bag -- the effect was so amazing that I didn't want to take them off. I've bought more MBTs since (hooray for Zappos, their pricing and color/style selection are better than any of my local stores) and absolutely cannot say enough good things about them. I can walk and stand all day in these on even the most unforgiving hard surfaces -- while I don't have any of the painful back, foot, or knee conditions some reviewers do, after two years of MBTs I've found that wearing other shoes leave me with just so much more in the way of minor back/leg/foot aches and pains and tiredness at the end of the day, while MBTs leave me bouncing and ready for more. Interestingly, I do tend to underpronate and have weak ankles that I used to twist and sprain on a regular basis -- but just from looking at the wear patterns on the soles, the MBTs have noticeably reduced how much I underpronate, and the only times I've twisted my ankle in the last two years have been when I've been wearing non-MBT shoes! And yes, while I bought them just for walking comfort, I have definitely noticed a visible difference in toning and definition of my calf muscles, with no changes to activity levels or exercise routines other than switching footwear...nice bonus! I joke about "drinking the MBT kool-aid" because I just won't shut up about these shoes to my friends, folks in shoe stores, or just chatting with folks on the street...they're that good! Now if only they'd bring out a few more dressy, feminine styles that don't make my fashion sense cringe at the thought of wearing them with clothing other than the most sporty, casual stuff, my joy would be complete. If you're thinking of trying these for the first time, note that MBT sizing is a little quirky. I'm a 7.5 on average in most styles, sometimes going down to a 7 in looser or more adjustable styles like sheepskin boots or walking sandals; typically I only take an 8 in certain styles of dressy shoes and boots. But in MBT, the 8 is a perfect fit. If you also tend to run in-between sizes, you may want to go a half-size up for MBTs -- see if you can try on a few pairs locally to get the fitting right, or just order both sizes since Zappos makes it so easy and painless to return the one that doesn't fit!

Rocking and Rolling - I really love the shoes. Walking is a whole new experience. I have WW feet and these shoes fit perfectly with all the adjustments that can be made.

I absolutely love these boots. I wore them to a bar the other night and got so many compliments. They are super high and sexy, yet comfortable. They elongate your legs and look great with black tights and a hot dress. They are also cute with tucked in jeans. I think they would be flattering on almost every woman.

I have plantar fasciitis. This shoe makes walking all day possible.

A revelation - If I had had these sandals in Europe this past summer I would have had an entirely different experience. These sandals are THAT good. They render me, an out of shape old granny able to walk like anyone and seem to remove all my knee and foot pain. They are more than worth the money and look nice, actually. I had no problem getting used to the sole shape since I had been wearing some Finn Comforts with a negative heel anyhow. The Finn Comforts are great too, just didn't work for me and I was fighting my shoes all three weeks walking in Europe.

MBTs - This is the best shoe I've had since I bought Mephisto. I like them better. You are slightly off balance at all times so this takes getting used to.

JP's thoughts - Many MBT's run small and narrow but these sandals run true to size. I have back problems and MBT's seem to really help my lower back. I try to wear them whenever I have to be on my feet for a long period.

I have plantar fasciitis in both feet and a neuroma. Plus I walk 5-7 miles a day on cement. I adore these shoes and haven't worn any of my other much cuter sandals this summer. I have no foot pain anymore. My feet are narrow, and these adjust well. The only issue is that I don't feel more fit in these shoes, I didn't have any break in time, which may be due to the fact I'm pretty fit. Worth every penny.

Exceptional Sandals - My Kisimus have been terrific. I purchased MBTs because of the numerous immediate and long-term benefits of sole design. I have had numerous knee surgeries and MBT shoes are by far the most helpful both in rehabilitation and in providing comfort. They are exceptionally comfortable on hard surfaces. In addition, I use them in the gym for additional instability and challenge. The sandals are prefect in this hot weather. The strap design is comfortable and easy. I don't adjust them to get in or out of the shoe, just slip my feet in and out. These are a wonderful product. I like the black color a lot.

Great shoe - I have diabetes and have a hard time finding shoes that don't make my feet hurt, these work. The only thing I found is I have a wide foot and these are a little tight across top. Otherwise like them a lot.
