I love these shoes they've been comfortable from day one. I've been told you should never have to break shoes in, if you do they aren't the shoe's you want to keep. The size is hard to find 6.5 4E (WWWW) With a real high arch. I love them if they ever make this shoe with other color choices I will purchase again.

The only other shoe that may fit is Propet thats just a chance.

I highly recommend this shoe if you have flat feet. It has a lot of support and takes an orthotic very nicely. It is extremely comfortable for walking long distances.

I love these shoes and have been buying them for years in a 9W. They are true to size and since I started wearing this shoe I do not roll out onto my ankles even when stepping into broken up sections of the sidewalk while walking dogs or playing volleyball on an uneven grass surface.

I buy these shoes because I am a severe overpronator and they do a good job of bringing me closer to a normal gait. They also accommodate my wide feet and my custom orthotics comfortably.

I had previously owned 2 pairs of New Balance 1022\'s and when my second pair had worn out, I was very disappointed that they were now out of production. However, I ordered the new version, the 1023\'s and I am very pleased with the fit and comfort. The only caveats - they run about 1/2 size bigger than the 1022\'s, and the shoelaces are a bit too short. I called New Balance about the laces, and they quickly sent me some replacements.

I have both this shoe and its predecessor, the 1122. The differences are that the 1123 has a less round toe and less indentation on the sole at the arch. The result is more motion control and a more "normal" looking shoe. I am overweight, have no arch at all, had a total knee replacement 7 weeks ago and need the other knee done. I have had this shoe about 9 months. This shoe is wonderful. It is very light for a shoe of its type. The support is the best I have ever had. It isn't even close to wearing out. My big wish for it would be more color choices. I toss mine in the washer, but they never come completely clean. I would love black. I hate having to look like a dork in the winter. I got mine on a super sale, but I would buy it again at full price. I like it that much.

I bought this pair of shoes on recommendation for plantar faciitis April \'09. Now that I am finally committed to exhausting all concertaive measure, therefore I am wearing these shoes as soon as my feet hit the floor until I strap on my stabilizing boot when I go to bed. They accomidate my custom orthotics as well as my Dr Scholls orthotic worn with the shoe\'s own insole over top. I have a short, wide foot and the 6.5 D was a perfect fit for me. I expecially like the toe room. I am also able to wear a nice cushy sock inside with room. The support feels like it surrounds the foot. I like that. I feel assured that I am putting the least possible strain and offering the most support as I gradually heal. I am not able to tolerate more than 2-3 hours of continuous walking, but I am working my way back up to those 12-hour shifts that ruined my feet.\r\n\r\nBTW I also bought a pair of MBTs and gave up on them after the first month or so.\r\n\r\nGot PF? Try these shoes.\r\n\r\nStyle? ...if you lke looking like you have your shoes on backwards? Worry about style when you can walk again.

These shoes were comfortable from the moment I put them on. I have tried many styles of NB and these by far are the best for anyone with fallen arches or plantar fasciitis. The extra width more than accommodates my orthotics. And you can always rely on Zappos to get them to you quicker than you can even imagine! It's almost as if you went to the mall! This is at least the 5th pair of shoes I've bought through Zappos and have been more than satisfied each time. Their customer service is surpassed by no one!

I love these sneakers for their fit more than the looks. This is my second pair. I used to have severe arch pain (I have high arches and wide feet), but these shoes alleviate that.

I love these shoes! I have searched for a long time for shoes that are comfortable to exercise in and that are wide enough! I was so excited when I saw that New Balance made them in 4E. And they are so cute! No more "grandma" tennies for me! YEA!!!!! Thanks Zappos.

Support for my bad knees! I am on my third pair of these - they provide great stability when my knees are bothering me and nothing else will do. I don't even consider another shoe.

new balance 241123 - This is my second pair of WR1123 and I wouldn't have purchased another pair if they weren't great -- I have had an Achilles problem and this particular shoe gives the perfect support The only suggestion -- you need to provide longer shoe laces -- the shoe laces on both of my pairs easily come untied.

Clunky, funky, but amazing!!!! Okay, I used to have the 1122 and loved them! I have RA and was a significant tennis player...so bad knees and sometimes loose balance...these are awesome, have great support to walk and run...just boxy at first glance. For me it is all about doing sports and feeling comfortable. I think they run wider than the previous ones.

Very Good - This is a very comfortable shoe. It looks good and feels good. I like that there is color to the shoe instead of all white. I am a walker so I need a sturdy shoe, which this is.

Cool, Comfortable - New Balance shoes always last forever for me, and give my feet no chance to roll, the fabric inserts keep my feet super dry, though in rain or snow this can be a bad thing.

Love my New Balance - The 1123 is a great shoe; it is a good option if you have any issues with your feet. I have heel spurs and bunions and had foot surgery this year. These shoes are comfortable out of the box and very comfortable for any activity. My only complaint is that the purple accent color on the top at the base of the laces bleeds with any foot perspiration.

Wonderful, ugly shoe - I love this shoe - it's so stable and comfortable. Running has not been the same with these shoes - they've got great cushion. They also have reflective bits which should be good for the night runner. However, these are ugly shoes! The sole is unbelievably huge and it's actually kind of hard to tell the left from the right shoe. If you want little, sleek, attractive shoes, don't buy these. But if you care about cushioning your feet from impact and providing stability, these are a great option. I always wear a NB women's 9.5 and I ordered a 9.5 wide, and they're nice and roomy.

Good shoes for bad feet - A tad chunkier than I like in looks, they are however the best shoes I have worn for my bad feet. Comfort from the start, orthotics fit, NO feet pain, even without the orthotics.

I love this shoe! I recently walked 39.3 miles in two days with the Avon Walk for breast cancer in NY and my feet still felt great at the end of the walk. I wear orthotics and this shoe last was recommended for my particular foot problem.

Great for my narrow feet needing a stability shoe: I've broken both ankles in the past (one fairly badly) and need a stability shoe. Most people who need stability shoes have wider feet, but mine are AA. These are one of the few shoes I found that provide a lot of stability and also come in narrow so my feet don't slide sideways in the shoe when I'm moving laterally! I agree with some other comments, they do look a bit clunky or granny-ish, but for the fit and stability I don't care! My personal trainer has noticed a major difference for the better in my balance and agility work in these shoes. Love em!

Great fitting comfort - This is a great fitting shoe for me. It is a true EE width and has plenty of toe room. It is very stable and has the best cushioning I have ever had in a shoe. There is also plenty of room for my orthotics. I will purchase this show again before NB changes it.

Very comfortable shoes! I love these New Balance. They're very comfortable and have great arch support. The look is a little clunky, but I don't care as long as they feel good. I have plantar fasciitis and these shoes provide the support I need

I like to call these shoes "magic shoes." I am training for the Breast Cancer 3-day. After being *professionally fitted* and going through two pairs of crappy, feet-killing shoes, I decided to purchase these on a whim. If they didn't work, I'd send them back. I put them on and IMMEDIATELY noticed a difference. VERY supportive, and they keep me from overpronating. They definitely look funny, but they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned.

Normally wear a 12WW but in this New Balance need a 13 and the 4EEE was not satisfactory. Although it fit my needs with toe box, heel, etc., was attractive, supportive and comfortable in other ways, there are knots on the inside seam where the materials join that are very hard and irritating. Another pair might be more comfortable and may be that my toes turn in more than this shoe can accommodate, but am having to return these and cannot recommend if you have toes that turn in. There are so many styles of New Balance available in wide widths and Zappos is so accommodating, I'm sure that I will find the right one with a smoother inside.
