Wow! This is the best purchase I have ever made. I am a frugal person and have never spent this much on a single clothing / shoe item, but this purchase was worth every penny. I live in Chicago where it is freezing and slushy for months. I wanted a pair of comfortable weather-proof boots that would be stylish, with a high enough heel to keep my pant cuffs from dragging on the ground, but still not so high as to be uncomfortable to walk in all day. I looked at boots for several years before I made this purchase, and this is it! I purchased these boots in November and have worn them almost every day for the past 3 months and they look brand new! I am amazed how the suede-like material is completely unmarred by salt, mud, slush, etc. I don't even have to wipe them off. They just dry perfectly clean. They are also very warm, and they never leak. They truly are snow, salt, and waterproof. I sometimes run errands all day in the city stomping through numerous puddles. Not only do my feet stay warm and dry, but they also do not hurt after hours of walking on this heel. The textured rubber sole and sturdy heel keep them from slipping, but it is still a dainty-looking, streamlined boot - not bulky or sporty looking at all. They are stylish enough to wear to a party or all day at work. I typically wear a 5 1/2 shoe. I ordered these in both a 5 1/2 & a 6. The toe pinched a bit in the 5 1/2 so I kept the 6. Even though they slip a tiny bit in the heel when I have on a thin sock, they fit perfectly when I wear a thicker wool sock. I have a thin calf and they zip optimally snug, but maybe someone with a thicker calf might think they are too snug. I would definitely trust this brand for quality and would purchase another boot from them in the future. I have never seen such good quality in a shoe.

What can I add? At the risk of being redundant, the Kate is super cute, super sophisticated, super sexy, super comfortable, and super in all winter weather. The gray was a welcome change to all the usual blacks and browns in my closet. I'm not a big buyer of look at me footwear, but the Kate does say, look at me, but in an understated, self-assured whisper, not an attention-seeking shout.

Beautiful fit & suede + outrageous comfort. This is my second pair of La C's, but pay attention to the reviews about sizing, although this boot is true to size. I'm a 6.5 but got a 7 so I can wear sporty or wool socks for added comfort. I do have skinny ankles & lower calf & it's comfortably snug but not tight.

The La Canadienne Kate boots look great and I think will be very warm. However, they run at least a 1/2 size large. I normally wear 6.5 - 7 and the 6.5 was too big, even with socks on. I suppose if I wore sweat socks they would be OK but alas, I must return them.

Fantastic, comfy boots. These are so stylish I've been tempted to wear them on days when it hasn't been wet and sloppy outside. They are a little warmer than a typical suede bootie so might be too toasty for some on a non-winter day. These look great with dresses, skirts, and skinny jeans.

Love these boots! Just got them today. Debated between a 9 1/2 or 10, ordered the 9 1/2, and they fit perfectly with a medium weight sock. The platform look is hot, the heel height is just right, the round toe is fabulous. Not sure if they'll do all they say in regard to being weatherproof, but it's supposed to rain tomorrow, so we'll see. They are expensive but worth it for the perfect heel height and silhouette. Love!

True to La Canadienne, this is a fantastic boot. As everyone has said, Kate has a sophisticated look. It's the kind of boot you can wear with anything -- casual or dressy attire. Love the fact that it's waterproof as well, and I know I'll get a lot of use from this shoe. The sole is solid on any surface. This boot fits snug around the ankle with room for toes. I usually wear thin socks, and they work just fine with Kate. Thanks, Zappos, for carrying an incredible variety of boots, and thanks, La Canadienne, for making such terrific ones. They last for years!

Wow, I seriously love these boots! They are stylish, well-made and super cushiony comfy inside. I typically order boots a half-size larger to accommodate for socks and a half size up worked like a charm for these boots. My only gripe is that there's no arch support...not a huge issue as I've never owned a single pair of stylish high heeled boots that did have arch support.

I really like this boots, the very simple line is elegant and beautiful. Not only that, it is waterproof, very warm in a cold day.

My favorites, and worth the expense. These are elegant without being fussy; feminine, too. The subtle platform makes them very stylish. The shaft hugs the ankle so there isn't a big gap between boot and leg.These boots are very comfortable. With a cushioned footbed, no sore feet, even worn all day and evening. My size nines fit with a medium-weight sock.

sooooo pretty. so, so pretty. I've been looking for a pair of black, waterproof, and comfortable pump boots and this is it! it can stand rain, snow, slush, you name it. I have wide feet and experience foot pain easily with pumps. These are great, comfortable, versatile boots. I usually wear 7.5 wide or 8 reg, and bought an 8B in these, which fit well (little loose at the tip, but i prefer that). I have another pair of Canadiennes (Talar) from two years back, and those are still waterproof. love Canadienne and Zappos!!

First of all, I love Zappos! I ordered these boots and received them the next day! I love these boots. They are stylish. I can dress them up or dress them down. The best part is I no longer have to wear a pair of boots to work and carry a separate pair of shoes to change in to. These are waterproof and you just brush them off when you get inside. I don’t know why I didn’t discover these sooner.

I\'ve had these boots about one year now. I can walk in them for a few miles at a time, without any discomfort. In fact, for me, they did not require any break-in time. The soles have some traction to help with slipping on icy sidewalks. I really like the fact that I can wear these boots with a wide range of outfits, from dress slacks for the office to jeans on the weekends. They are great in Chicago for both rain and snow. Also, they are still waterproof, even after significant wear.

I have had these boots for about 2 months now and totally love them! I do a lot of walking and needed a pair of boots that are modern, stylish, and comfortable. These boots totally fit the bill. I wear them with skirts and black tights or skinny jeans, so they are pretty versatile. I have thin ankle and most boots are too roomy for me around that area. These boots fit me quite snugly there and taper up my lower calf so they create a nice long look for my leg. I would love to own other shoes from this manufacturer.

First time ordering from Zappos. I was hesitant at ordering shoes as I like to try on things first, but thought I would take a chance and I am glad I did. I LOVE my boots, they are so comfortable and stylish. They came in about 2 days, couldn't be easier. I will order from Zappos again!

I treated myself and was so pleased! These are super-comfortable for wearing all day! That is from someone who hates heels, but needs to look professional. You can dress them up or down and they work. What can I say? Awesome boots!

Beautiful Urban Boot - At 5'1" this beautiful boot cut my leg in half so I would recommend it for women who are at least 5'5" tall and above. The boot is more urban in style than other La Canadinne's with slightly raised sole but better than that, it is the most comfortable La Canadienne I've every tried on. Lovely cushiness when you walk, toe is slightly rounded for excellent fit but still very hip look. You can wear it with pants, jeans, skirt and even a dress.

Love these boots. Wished I ordered two pairs in case something ever happens to first. I wear these nearly every day this fall / winter under my dress pants for work. Most comfortable boots I have every owned. Love!

Oh my gosh! These boots are awesome! So comfy! I don't want to take them off! I am very picky about shoes especially for the comfort! But these shoes are amazing. I have been buying many pairs of boots from this brand, and I love all of them. But most of the shoes I bought don't have any heels at all, so I hesitated when I saw this. But I finally decided to try because worst case will be returning them for free shipping. But I am glad that I got them, and I love them!

Zappos as always has great customer service. These shoes are the best boots I have owned. Worth the price you play. I am on my feet all day, and they are just great.

You can throw those ugly, clunky snow boots away and look very stylish and feel very comfortable in these beautifully crafted boots. I expect to be wearing them for years. I added a padded inner sole for extra comfort.

Love these boots enough to buy them twice. One pair lasted 4 years, until the sole cracked, but they were already worn out. I tried to find a different new pair, but here's what I love about the Kate boot to buy again - just right heel height with platform to keep it comfy; elegant clean line for pants or long skirts; very weather-resistant (black suede handles rain or snow easily and still looks great). I could not find this combo in any other pair of "dress-up, dress-down" boots. Fit: I wear a 7.5W so bought size 8M and added a "SuperFeet" insert, which makes a perfect fit.

La Canadienne is the only brand of boots I'll wear now. So comfortable right out of the box. I purchased the 'smoke', though, and I am disappointed with the color. They are the same color as another pair of La Canadienne (Kara) in 'Charcoal Suede'. I will keep them anyway because I love the style.

I searched high and low for grey suede boots but I could not find a pair that fit comfortably. When I came across "Kate", visually they were exactly what I pictured in my mind. When I tried them on, they were like butter. I am on my feet often during the day and by the end of the day, I can still keep going in these boots. Worth the money.
