Why I Chose and Wear Ryka Dance Shoes - First of all, I teach several ZUMBA dance fitness classes, and I need a shoe that can withstand a spicy meringue to a fast quebradita. My Ryka Studio D's are my choice of shoe because of it’s: support, comfort, and chic style. I L-O-V-E these shoes and highly recommend them to all my students... and now to you!

Love the look of these boots, but had to return them because the shaft was too big. I’m 5’1” and they were too tall. Check the measurements - it didn’t work out for me, unfortunately.

Good Shoe - I am a jazzercise instructor and these are the shoes a lot of us are wearing right now. I have issues with my knees and with these sneakers I notice a huge improvement. Have to wear a couple of times to break in, but a great shoe.

Ryka Studio D - I have been a Ryka shoe fan for my step and aerobic classes, but found the mid studio shoe didn't work well for Zumba and kick boxing classes. When I saw the Ryka Studio D in a low style, I had to try it and am glad that I did. Cute shoe and very comfortable. It looks cute wearing outside of the gym as well.

Great aerobic shoe - I have been using these in my Jazzercise class and they are great. They have a good grip and work well on carpet and wood floors. They offer great support and, as others have suggested, I ordered 1/2 size larger. They fit great and I am happy with the purchase.

I decided on this shoe, since there were positive reviews using it for Zumba. I wear a 10.5 in the shoes that I use for training so that is what I ordered, the fit is good. I did also notice that for the first 3 times I wore them I expireinced numbness in my toes, but by the fourth class I did not notice that anymore. Must be part of the breaking in process. I only wear these shoes for Zumba, I feel that they are much better than the training shoes I used to wear. There is more support when I jump and they are awesome for all the pivioting and twisting! I would recommend these shoes for Zumba lovers even though you need to break them in!

If they weren't so tight, I would have loved these shoes! I'm a 9.5, which I bought, but what arrived felt more like a nine- my toes were pushed right up against the front of the shoe. The rest of my foot was super comfortable, though, so I might try them in a 10.

I bought these shoes because I was hoping for better arch support in my tai chi class. My old Chinese slippers had none, and it was getting to be hard on my aging feet, causing me some foot pain and a sense of weakness by the end of class. So far these Rykas are working quite well for me. I have less pain, much more stamina for standing, and my feet feel great after class. My only issue is that the soles grip the floor quite effectively, which sometimes gets in the way of certain pivoting/spinning moves, but I am hoping that once I have used the shoes for a while, the gripping will ease up a bit, making it less difficult to pivot/spin.

Great shoes but not as much cushioning on the ball of my foot as I had hoped. I've had these before and they lasted a long time. I think I might have to put in some sort of pad but that's just my foot....others might not have that same problem.

Things to like: Doesn't make your foot look huge and clunky like most flared-out soles shoes do in a size 10. Runs narrow enough for those that have a more narrow foot. Things to dislike: The heel has a high-rising tab which can cause your low socks to slide down under your heel, by the friction, since it's not quite so flexible as to not slide down on your heel when your foot is up on your toes. Not the best shoe for jazzercize, zumba and the like, since it doesn't swivel on the round spot on the ball of the foot, like I'd hoped. Overall a comfortable shoe that doesn't make your foot look huge, and goes with a lot of things.

Good shoe for Jazzercise movement. It is comfortable and supportive. It is a cute style. The material of the shoe relaxes so it has to be tightly tied.

I have always worn 7.5 shoes - even from this same brand. For some reason, this particular pair is a little tight at the toes and my toes were numb during exercise class. Hopefully, the fabric will stretch with wear and they will fit well. The rest of the shoe is fantastic! I will definitely order again but 1/2 size up to 8.

I think I'd really like these for Zumba, but unfortunately I'll have to wait to find out. Although other Ryka shoes fit fine at the 10.5 size, these run small and feel more like a 10. No room for my toes! I'm crossing my fingers and re-ordering an 11.

Great shoe for Zumba. I used to have the split sole sneakers, but realized I needed more arch support. This is as good as the Nike Musique which I can't find anymore, but never mind. Great padding, so no more screaming knees! Taking away a star because it is a full size smaller than marked!

This shoe seems like it will be a good fit for me - I do a variety of Zumba, step aerobics, and weights/conditioning every week. The sole allows good maneuvering on the floor for the cardio dance-type moves, but also has enough traction for conditioning exercises. I would say that this shoe definitely runs small and somewhat narrow. My left foot is slightly larger than my right, and I really felt that difference in this shoe. I normally wear a size 7.5, but I had to go up to a size 8. I also tried an 8.5, but that was a little too big (too bad they don't make size 8.25). If I wear thinner socks, the 8 seems to fit fine. So far, the shoe has been supportive and comfortable during classes, although there seems to be a bit of a break-in period for me. One other thing to note: these shoes have only moderate arch support - that works well for me because I have low arches, but if you require more support I'd recommend the Ryka Dynamic 2.

These shoes run a little bit small. I usually wear an 8, but the size 8 was so tight against my toes that I couldn't even uncurl them all the way. I had to return them to get a size 8.5, which fit fine. The shoes are light and have comfortable padding inside. They aren't miracle shoes, my feet will still feel sore from dancing, but when I wear these shoes, I seem to have less sore feet and knees compared to when I dance in my regular sneakers.

Having owned these before for my Jazzercise classes. I would have to say that this version seems to not be made as well-just seems lighter to me.

I bought these for Zumba and they work very well. I am now able to twist and turn during the dance moves which I was not able to do with my regular running shoes. The shoe laces are way too long and I felt that they are true to size contrary to what others said. I did buy a 1/2 size up and I am sorry now but I wear a thicker sock.

I got these for Zumba in a 9 1/2, they fit me great. I wear a medium thickness sock, just to help keep my feet tighter in the shoe. I noticed an immediate difference in doing turns and other moves and no more knee pain! This is a great shoe and I recommend getting it!

I bought these for Zumba as I found that I just couldn't slide and turn in my regular running shoes. I even had developed a knee injury from not wearing the right shoes. I bought these and immediately noticed a difference. I can now slide and spin with ease and they are not too slippery. I ordered one size up as many had mentioned that they were made small however I think I would have been okay with my regular size. The laces are a bit long but aside from that they are perfect.

These are comfortable and great looking shoes. They are a little stickier than I expected for turns and pivots (I bought them to teach Zumba), but I think that it because I am used to wearing proper dance shoes. I believe they will wear well and become a bit slicker over time. I generally wear 6½ or 7, so I ordered 7 and am happy with the way they fit. Overall, I love them!

I like these shoes for Hip-Hop Abs, Zumba...dancing type exercise. The smoother bottom makes it easier to maneuver. I think they are a little wide, but lacing tighter fixes that problem.

I have worn New Balance shoes for Jazzercise forever -- this is my first pair of Rykas and I am pleased. No breaking in period -- good to go right out of the box. Can't beat that!

Bought these for Zumba and I'm glad I did. They are not cushy, and there's really no arch support, but they pivot great and are perfectly suited for dance aerobics classes. No more twisted ankles!
