Great shoe!
Looked at other reviews and bought this shoe one size bigger. Very pleased with padding, look, and feel of shoe. I have three pairs of J&M shoes and they are all I wear at work all day. Well worth the money. Zappos shipped next day as promised for a flawless transaction. Thanks Zappos!

One of the most comfortable dress shoes I've ever worn!
Johnston & Murphy shoes have always been my favorite, but these are without a doubt the most stylish, comfortable dress shoe I've ever worn. I'm usually a 10.5, but the shoes ran smaller and a bit narrower than usual. Highly recommended!

I normally love J&M shoes, however these were small for the size marked and really were not comfortable!

I ordered both my regular size (10.5) and one half size larger (following indications from the manufacturer and recommendations from other reviewers). It turns out there is actually no difference whatsoever in shoe length (I held the two sizes sole to sole) as this model is fairly long to begin with. You'll likely have 1.5 inches between the tip of the shoe and your toes. The issue is how tight the shoe will be around your foot. If it stretched, the 10.5 would probably work, but brand new out of the box, the 11 feels like a better fit. I almost want to say, I should have gone half a size smaller rather than larger but chose wide.

Well this is odd, if you read the reviews you see people saying they are either a size too big or a size too small. The pair I received were way too big (10.5). They felt comfortable and looked good but I will be sending them back. Now I just need to decide if I should try size 9.5.

Great shoe! They are much darker than pictured here though. I would almost say mine are mud brown. I wear an 11 and first I listened to all the reviews and ordered a 10.5. It didn't fit so returned it and got the 11. Zappos was great and overnighted it.

I bought these shoes for my husband to replace an older pair of Kenneth Cole\'s. Although people stated that the shoes ran small, he found them to be true to size, despite having a wide foot. He reports that they are comfortable and breaking in easily. They also look good and were a good price. Thanks Zappos!

Pretty satisfied -
The padding in the sole of the shoe is intended for comfort; however it does make it fit pretty tight. You might consider ordering a half size larger than normal. The shoe has a very good look.

Nice shoe -
Dressy shoe with a clean, sharp look. My older J&Ms have a better sole and arch support which was a little disappointing. Shoe is also on the narrow side, which is important to consider if you require a wider size. Overall, these shoes look great and I don't wear them when I have to be on my feet all day.

Great shoe.
Shoe looks great and is pretty comfortable once broken in. However, I ordered a wide shoe (11W) and it still feels pretty narrow, I would hate to see what the standard width feels like... Usually an 11W fits me perfect out of the box; J&M needs to re-think what they consider a "wide" shoe.

Cheap Soles -
The soles are cheaply made, I walk a lot on tiled floors and the soles wore thin so fast, they lost all of their "grip". So I had them resoled with better and more durable rubber soles after 8 months.

The Good: These shoes look good. They are sharp and clean with a good shine and the heels click when you walk. \r\n\r\nThe bad: Make a trip to the drug store for some gauze and tape cause these shoes will eat up your ankles.

Nice fit. Longer than I thought they would be and it took some getting used to. Several carpet trips later I find them to be extremely comfortable. Fine leather, however, the soles are a little thin.

Shoe-less in Seattle -
I normally buy ECCOS, but given the looks and to save $ I tried these instead. Great looking shoe, but they just don't breathe well. I'm hoping they continue to stretch. I have worn about half dozen times, and I still have to take them off mid-afternoon to give my feet a break. Ordered the wide size and they still run narrow. I like them enough to keep them, but I won't buy another pair.
I'd also recommend:
ECCOS - if you have wide feet.

Way too narrow of a shoe -
J&M Usually fit well. However these shoes run very small. I even returned for a wide (EE). It was not. I did not want to order a full size larger and have an inch in the front of the shoe. Not a well designed Shoe!

WAY TOO SMALL -
14EEE was anything but that. I own JM shoes and they are usually true to fit, but I could not even get my foot into this shoe.

I own two of the Harding panel shoes and have had the same problem with both. After just a few weeks of wearing the shoes, the rubber sole becomes very hard and slippery rather than remaining soft and flexible. As a result, when walking across certain surfaces such as polished floors or stone floors, and any wet surface including indoor and outdoor surfaces, the shoes become very slippery. There does not need to be lots of moisture for the shoes to become slippery. As mentioned, it can occur even when the floor is not wet. I can now only wear the shoes when I know that I will not be walking much outside of my office, and I have had to purchase two different manufacturer's shoes to replace the two that I cannot wear when it rains. I strongly urge you to consider where the shoe will be worn. Although the shoes are relatively comfortable, the issue with the sole means that I will never purchase this style again.

This is a very good looking shoe, but it did not fit at all. I am usually a 8 1/2 or 9, but I could not get the 9 on my foot; it was too tight.

I previously had this exact same shoe, but it had been manufactured in China, not India. The new pair from India are sized at least 1/2 size bigger. I exchanged for a smaller size. The second pair had the top back of the heel split on the first day of wearing. Complete junk. Maybe you should have stuck with your first supplier.

I bought these shoes at Dillards. 6 months in, the sole split where the rubber meets the leather footbed. Dillards told me they could do nothing. I liked the shoes, but they just didn't hold up.

Really nice looking shoes. Also seem to be really well made. I have to give these shoes a poor review because they are so much smaller than marked, this will be the second paid I have to return for a larger size. I started with a size 12 and returned as they were too small. I exchanged for 13; still way too small. FYI, I have another pair of Johnston and Murphy that are size 12 and they fit perfect. You probably will return at least two paid before finding the correct size, and that's inexcusable.

I ordered this shoe at a 10.5 with a medium width. Have never had a problem with the fit on any other Johnston and Murphy shoes. The shoe was so tight that I had to have it stretched twice and it still is a very tight narrow fit. Very dissappointed in the fit.

I purchased this shoe as I needed a new pair of black dress shoes. I was immediately impressed by how comfortable the shoes were. When they came in the mail, I tried them on and they felt tight (though I was wearing athletic socks). I figured they'd need a little breaking in, but was surprised when I wore them to work the next day. I'm a teacher, so I'm on my feet all day and my feet never felt sore in the shoes. It's been two days and they really haven't needed much breaking in at all. Based on this pair, I would absolutely buy more Johnston & Murphy shoes. Definitely worth the price.

Great looking shoe which is why I bought it. Leather stiff and hard to get broke in. I went through several blisters and felt like it was going to slice through my achilles tendon. After about 20 hours of break in and adding mole skin to heel, shoe is now bearable but would still not consider comfortable. Also feels very tight across top. I felt like giving up due to the pain but at this price decided to suck it up. I have never had a more uncomfortable shoe experience.
