A once great product has slipped considerably in quality of materials and manufacturing. Not what they used to be.

Sizes are narrow ordered wide shoes are no way wide in my opinion width is less than normal

Great shoe but not really a fan of the shiny leather, which looks rather plastic!

I have proudly worn Sperry Top-Sider Billfish shoes for the last twenty years. On average, each pair easily lasted 5-10 years. I only replaced them when I wanted a new look. Their comfort and versatility were unbeatable; indeed, they were the most comfortable pair of shoes I ever owned. I defaulted to them. Around 2017, however, I noticed that production had shifted overseas. This is not inherently bad, but (as others have mentioned), the shoe took on a different look. The insoles changed. The toe box became more pointed. The stitching and overall build quality looked cheaper. After owning a new pair for less than a year, the mesh material in the arch separated from the sole---it literally began to rip out. This NEVER happened in the several pairs I owned from ca. 2000 forward. To their credit, Sperry promptly replaced this pair due to defective quality. Sadly, this has now happened again. Not only are the shoes SIGNIFICANTLY less comfortable than they used to be; my pair from 2018 has now also began to rip in the right arch. I'm very disappointed. In a world where cheap and quick are buzzwords of global commerce, I had hoped that Sperry would stay true to its roots. Sadly, quality has sailed on the Billfish.

Sizing is not accurate. I ordered an 11 extra wide. Much too large. Returned that pair for a size 10 1/2 extra wide. Not much difference, Still too large. Tried to exchange for yet a smaller size but Sperry wouldn't allow that. Had these shoes in the past but will go somewhere else.

The shoe was attractive but quite uncomfortable. The arch was too far back compared to every other Sperry shoe that I own. I had to send them back.

On repeated seasons I have been unable to find a sufficiently wide fit. I have a normal foot, but Sperry has not been able to provide a boat shoe that is wide enough.

I always wear a wide shoe/ sneaker,,, Ordered wide,, Wide is nothing more than a D width.. Nicely crafted shoe,,, Just couldn't get my foot in it..

This was the last in a chain of disappointments. I have been trying to get new Sperry boat shoes for over a year since my old ones finally wore out at the end of last summer. These are narrow around the widest part of the foot yet loose in the heel, so a different size would not help. Plus, the sole is hard and uncomfortable. Third pair of Sperrys I've ordered online this summer that have not fit- I give up.

I've been wearing Sperry boat shoes since the 80's and I love them However I'm on my second pair of this style in a year. I bought them because I like the extra cushion in the heel. However in both pairs the material in the heels have broken down causing them to split and making them unwearable. Think of a flat tire on your foot. Sperry needs to correct this quality control issue before I spend my money on another pair.

Comfortable

This is probably the 7th pair of Sperry Bluefish 3 eye Boat Shoes that I have purchased. I wear them every day. I am disappointed in the quality and fit of this last purchase. As always, I ordered an 11.5W and the fit is much different from those that I purchased previously. It seems that the closure over the top of my foot is different, such that, I can see a noticeable difference in comfort. Also, the leather used is not the same quality as past purchases.

My new Billfish arrived today. They look nice but I was surprised to see the laces actually required tying because in the photo, they look like the non-tying type as is found in the Gold Cup shoe. I'm confused. How is a buyer supposed to know what type of lace system he is getting since the photos are misleading?

The Billfish Amaretto quality is fine... However, I expected the laces to be leather similar to other Sperry boat shoes and box weaved braiding as shown on Sperry site; (borrowing from nautical design elements reminiscent of mariner roping). Also, the mesh screen on either side of the shoe to allow air into the shoe; specifically between, under and around your foot and the inner sole area is not functional enough as told by customer service when inquiring before ordering. Sperry, Rostra, Swordfish, Sailfish,Marlin all are Billfish and there are boats or vessels that venture out to sea specialized to catch Billfish. i.e Competitive angling,... a fantastic sporting way of earning living btw. It is great that the Sperry Billfish (namesake) celebrates the spirit of this predatory Istiophoridae and acknowledges it's oceanic prowess in the wild. Please create a slightly larger mesh area to allow for greater air flow in design and provide leather laces. Nylon laces fray and break easily.

We purchased this shoe as a Christmas gift for our son but it runs about 1/2 to 1 size bigger than his typical shoe.

Color is darker then other pairs I have bought and they are not as wide as advertised

It really is nit comfortable to wear. I was disappointed. Had hoped for a much better comfort level while walking.
