Very pretty boots that come to my mid knees. Only problem, for me, is that the calves are pretty roomy. I would prefer the boots to not be so large around the calf area.

After reading all the nearly 100 reviews of this baby (a few times) I decided to take the plunge. Justifying the money spent on the fact that I will wear these forever and ever. So I just got them, and yes unfortunately, they're worth every cent. Maybe I'm just high right now on the scent of new leather, but these boots are simply perfect, looks-wise. The leather looks like the most high quality leather and they're extremely versatile - whether you want a structured boot or a slightly slouchy look - these babies fit the bill. I wanted a knee-high boot, but these come up to an inch and a half below my knee (I'm almost 5'7"), but that's okay; they still look elegant and tall. With regard to the roomy heel area - yep, it's too roomy initially, but as other lovely ladies have said here, that problem should go away after they've been worn in. Plus Frye says, it's not a Frye boot until 190 steps. It is a little narrow in the toe area, but not very uncomfortable. Nothing that time won't fix. Plus you can also take it to get it stretched. I love the fact that it has functional adjustable straps because I have average-thin calves and this was too roomy for me but was fine after adjustment. I don't recommend these for someone with skinny calves. Overall, a gorgeous investment which will pay dividends many years to come!

This is my second pair of Frye boots and I am never disappointed. I was nervous about the tall boot, I am 5'5" with an athletic build, but they fit perfectly! I got the 8½, and they are very comfortable. The heel may slip with the first few wears, however it goes away! I have received many compliments.

I have been wanting these boots for years and finally bought them this winter. They definitely lived up to my expectations. I find that Frye is true to size and relatively comfortable. These boots are a bit stiffer than other Frye boots I've had but have been fairly easy to break in by just wearing around the house.

These boots are gorgeous. I thought that the leather would be a little thicker for the price, however. I am an equestrian, though, and my standards are quite high when it comes to leather. Of course, these would never be appropriate on a horse, and that isn't what I bought them for. So--as a fashionable, wearable boot--yes.

I've been looking at these boots on Zappos for over a year now and I finally broke down and bought them. They are very well-made, excellent quality, and they look great! The inside is completely lined in soft leather and the detail is outstanding. Excellent craftsmanship. I did have to break them in, but it didn't take long, and they are so comfortable. Definitely worth the price, such a classic look, I will wear them forever! And of course, Zappos is awesome. I would never consider ordering shoes from any other online business.

I loved these boots. I bought them in the textured bordeaux color and they are beautiful. I am on the short side (5'2") and they do come up a little high but the beautiful thing about these boots is that you can scrunch them slightly by the ankle and they look beautiful on. That gives them a little more of a casual look. These are definitely a staple for any wardrobe. The quality is great and I expect to have them for years.

These boots amazing, and worth every dollar. I'm about 5'7 and they come right up to the knee, which is perfect. I also have "large" calves at almost 16 inches; I had no problem at all pulling these on, and there was no sagging at the ankle. I usually wear an 8 1/2, but purchased an 8; I'm so glad I did because they fit perfectly. The leather is fabulous quality. These won't be the last pair I buy!

You know that satisfaction you feel when you recognize perfection? These boots are polished, elegant and eye-catching; their height lends grace and balance to the silhouette and elongates the leg. I purchased these boots in the black smooth polished finish and they are stunning. am 5'5" with "athletic" (15 inch) calves; the supple leather accommodates leggings with no bunching and yet will stay smooth with stockings. These boots are versatile enough to wear with a suit or with jeans. As for size, I am sometimes a 7.5, sometimes an 8. I went for the 8 here to avoid potential pinch in the toe , especially with heavier socks. As others have noted, there is some heel slippage (the heel is also a bit wide); if molding to my foot with continued wearing does not cure this, I can see that this can be readily remedied with a heel grip. All in all, these babies are classy and look like they cost twice the price. Thank you, Zappos, as always for maintaining such a wide variety of choices and for your sure and rapid service - also perfection!

My new Dorado boots -- khaki canvas/tan leather, size 6 1/2 -- just arrived. They are stunning! This is going to be a great pair of boots to wear to my new job -- with dresses and denim pencil skirts (my *uniform*). I wanted a pair of boots for spring/summer/early autumn, and the canvas, which is unlined, and the leather, which is lined in leather, should wear perfectly for the warmer season. The fit in the foot is perfect and can wear with a light ankle sport sock. I'm about 5'5" --- the shaft is indeed 17 1/2" from the arch and hits just at about the knee. I plan to wear bandaids the first few times as they do slip a bit in the heel and probably need to break in --- from past experience wearing several other pairs of Frye shoes, this should be okay. Frye advises their conditioning cream may darken the leather a shade, but I think it will help with the blaring *brand new boot* look --- so I'm going for it. Wear in Good Health & Bright Spirit :)

I love these boots! They are comfortable and the color works with so many things. As others have said the price seems high, but now I see why.

I love these boots! I bought them for a 3 month trip to Italy. I'm 3 and a half weeks in...been wearing 'em every day and I absolutely love them! I usually wear a 7.5 or 8 and I went with the 8. I've been wearing 2 pairs of socks to keep them fitting good, but they aren't thick socks, so I think 7.5 would be too small. I got the gray color and just love it!

My boots are fabulous! I live in Australia, but took advantage of my recent holiday in USA to have these wonderful boots delivered to my hotel. Zappos service was fantastic - only sad thing is that they don't deliver to Australia, so I can't any more goodies from them! Very sad!

I love these boots! I had been looking at them in the store and online for months, but the price was keeping me from purchasing them. I finally ordered them and they are so cute...the quality is amazing compared to other boots I own. I plan on wearing these forever!

Very classy riding boots, they make an impact without being showy. They do slip in the heel a bit but that diminishes greatly with time as the sole breaks in. It would not surprise me if these boots lasted twenty years with a little love and care.

Great looking boot, yes I did get blisters even after wearing them around the house. So I think you should put band aids on your heels the first couple of times you wear them. The leather is a nice quality. These are worth the money.

These are nicer look than I expected. There was a little heel slippage first day I wore them, but by the third wearing they were super comfortable. I got the taupe and it will be a nice lighter color for spring. I expect these to last forever.

Beautiful boot and the color was gorgeous (antique tan). Too bad they don't have a half size down (out of stock).

Love these shoes...and I am one picky shoe shopper! Beautiful color contrast on the dark brown, nice long shaft for the long legged women (yes)...do not want to take them off! I do agree with the heel slippage but am hoping with a little wear and a little thicker socks, I'll be just fine! Again, I love these boots!

Amazing boot. Runs true to.size. yes good boots take wearing in. Not wide and sloppy. Yrs narrow but not too bad.have them stretched. You will have these for a lifetime. Gorgeous. I got them in textured Bordeaux; textured spice and black. Nice calf not too big looking. I have large calves and am not tall only 5 ft 5 and these boots came to my knee and looked beautiful not overwhelming at all. These are the perfect boot. Looks best with leggings. You will not be disappointed. Narrow foot but i have a bunion on one foot and if you order your size you will be fine. And if you have issues have them stretched no biggie. Worth the money no comparison to other brands. Fryes fit better with more wear in time as all great boots.

Ordered these riding boots in charcoal after my husband spotted them at Bloomie's, where they were sold out! The boots are incredibly well made and attractive -- sleek enough to wear with skirts or jeans. They do *not* have a Western look but they do have a Western fit (i.e., stiff leather sole, the wearer's heel may lift up with each step). The calf circumference fits my 15 1/4 calf snugly but not too tight. I wear 8 to 8.5 -- ordered these in 8.5 and they fit perfectly. Will need to stretch a bit with thick socks for my wide feet. These should be perfect for medium width feet.

These boots are absolutely delicious! They are very well constructed, made of really nice leather and the style is classic. The heels do slip as the other reviewers have mentioned. I have a small calf and thought I would be able to adjust the top strap to fit but they were huge on my legs. I love the look and feel of this boot but I'm forced to go to as equestrian site so that I can customize the shaft size and height. So sorry they didn't work out!

These are my new favorite boots! Was concerned about a break-in period but they were comfy right out of the box. Quality of the leather is great (I have Prada, Blahnik and Ferragamo boots - and the Frye leather is just as nice). They are a bit loose in the heel;but that actually makes them easier to get on/off. Speaking of which, these are very easy on/off. Wore them through airport security with no problems. I'm a runner with a 14½ inch calf and these fit great. Enough room for skinny jeans tucked in. Well worth the price, you'll love them!

Love is the least emotion I have for these boots; I adore them, I stare at them parked in front of my door just waiting to be worn again; they are so sleek yet rugged, classic and timeless you will wear them forever thus the price is a steal for their value!! Don't regret not having these another season, I was lusting over them since last fall and am so thankful they are finally mine; compliments and stares from fellow boot-goers follow me wherever I go, I just proudly say 'thank you, they're Frye, from Zappos.
