I have been having a harder time finding shoes that fit as I get older. I was so pleased with everything about this shoe that I quickly ordered another pair. I wore them for the first time while shopping and walking around in very humid conditions. What a joy not to feel like my feet were in an oven, and to feel comfortable and supported as well. With these shoes and Zappos outstanding service you can't go wrong.

Quick update to my review from the other day - while I still love these sneakers, after hiking outdoors for four miles the balls of my feet really started to ache! I noticed the insert felt a little hard so I put in an insole into each sneaker and voila, the problem was fixed. For those like me with no padding on their feet you might need an insole for proper cushioning on the ball of the foot. Thus one star off for comfort, although they do feel great everywhere else with no other modifications. Also feel these sneakers were working my hips, glutes and thighs because I was sore in all the right places, and I didn't feel like my back hurt after my walk. Never felt that with my previous pairs!

Wow, I had just purchased and returned two other styles of Avia sneakers for poor quality issues. I have been buying only Avia for years and thought I was done with them, but then I saw this pair online. They appeared better made and also seemed to be an older model that was no longer being sold, and I thought perhaps these were manufactured before their quality problems set in with the newer styles. I purchased a 9.5W accidentally - I meant to order a 9.5 M but they weren't any in stock. I nearly cancelled my order and am so thankful I didn't! These fit perfectly, did not slip, and feel like they will be much more accommodating to my annoying hammertoes that are always giving me painful blisters when I walk several miles on an outdoor trail since the toe box is roomier. They also have a significant amount of arch support and felt so comfortable I went outside and ran errands in them immediately - something I never do with other brands until I wear them around the house for many days to make sure they aren't going to cause me any pain. With Avia that's usually never a concern. There is no break-in time. These are much cuter and better made than the several other Avia styles I tried recently. So many sneakers out there are so hideous with their screaming neon color schemes and ugly designs, and I find these just so cute and subdued. Love the gray with the white and pink accents. Was just so thrilled to be back in a pair of Avias that worked for me again that I immediately checked on Zappos to see if there were any other 9.5 W's in stock. Unbelievably, one or two just came back in so I ordered another pair for indoor use on the treadmill. Back went the far less cushioned Nike Tri Lite's (sorry Nike). My feet are glad to be back with Avia! I just hope these wear well and last me at least two or three years and I'll keep coming back. I think the price is decent for what you get as well.

Zappos service is the best. I got my shoes 2 days before the estimate date of arrival. My last 3 pairs have been Avia, they really seem to fit my problem feet.

I was looking for a good pair of tennis shoes for my wife. I bought two other pairs aside from these to give her a decent chance at finding a pair she liked. These were the last pair she put on and it was like magic! It is hard to find shoes that fit her very well, but these are those shoes! We now highly recommend you give them a shot!

Plenty of room. Soft. No rubbing or pressure spots. Very light. I had a feeling that the back of the shoe is not hugging the heel well enough, but when I run I don't have any problems. Look okay too.

Had a pair of these shoes that I wore out. Don't know why, but the new ones I ordered in wide width, which is what I ordered before, seem to be a bit wider. Will keep them and wear heavier socks.

Most comfortable shoes I own! My feet always hurt but not nearly as much in these shoes. I wear one pair on treadmill and one pair outside.

Best sneaker I have tried in a very very long time. I cannot believe the price. I worried a bunch of sneakers to see what I would like the best. This was the cheap one and I went up to $300. This was by far the best one I tried on. My feet feel great all day and there is so much support and padding.

These are roomy comfortable sneakers. I have bunions and wide flat feet and I find these to be very comfortable.

These are my shoes! The only styles that fits my deformed wide feet. I am a runner and did my first marathon in them at Silver Falls state Park, Nov. 2012.

This is my second pair, They are great. I buy a half size up, they seem to run a bit small. The mesh is nice to keep you cool.

I was so pleased to find Avia's in a wide width. This has been a brand that works for me with my "problem" feet. They accommodate my orthotics and bunions and are the only shoe that keeps me walking without pain. Hoping Avia will continue to make them in wide width. I have spent much more but then could not wear them. Avia is best for me. Thanks Zappos for carrying them and for great service.

This is my second pair of Avia shoes. I looked everywhere for a pair like my first ones, and found these on Zappos. I have plantar fasciitis and a bunion, and these shoes enable me to walk and function without pain.

Warning these shoes are addictive and will make you want to wear only them. Love them! Wear for 12 hr shifts on concrete floors; best shoes ever!

These are the most comfortable walking shoes I've ever owned. I've worn all the other brands that cost twice, three times as much and I like these the best by far! I've had them for 4 months now and they are super comfortable! They were comfortable from day 1! I wear a wide and it's almost impossible to find wide sized shoes in the local markets, so now I will be ordering these whenever I wear them out. Also, my orthotics fit in them very well. I have no complaints about these shoes - very unusual for me! I highly recommend them.

I bought these for my 74 year old mom. The neutral color is great and my mom said they feel great.

While the length was perfect, and even though I have a narrow foot I can usually wear a normal width running shoe because of the lacing. I had a pair of Avia's long ago and literally wore them out but sadly I have to return these. They were comfy - which is why I gave them 5 stars but they were just too wide in the heel and my foot kept slipping. I guess I better stick with Saucony's for my narrow feet.

This is a terrific tennis shoe. I've worn it for both walking and running, and it's super comfortable for my wide foot. And it's the best price in its category hands down! Thanks Zappos!

I love the Avia shoes. I like the mesh which keeps the feet cool during exercise and I love that they comes in a wide width. I have four pairs and I switch them around.

These shoes are so comfortable for walking. I ordered 2 more pairs in case they get discontinued so I would have them when I needed them. I walk 2-3 miles a couple times a day and they are great for that.

These shoes are wonderful. I have had toe operations on both feet, and was looking for light weight shoes that also had a good arch. I am very pleased how well they fit, and feel so good while walking. I am not a runner, so I cannot help the reader with that info. The fit is true to size (mine,7 1/2), though, my feet slide somewhat, but nothing that disturbs my walking. I have plenty of toe room...no cramped feeling at any time. The sole is sturdy, with the rest of the shoe's construction being well made. I also like the looks of the pair. The inside sole tends to soil, easily, and any slight item that clings to your foot will stick onto the inside sole's fabric. It is difficult to pull it off the fabric. This is the only problem I have with these shoes, which is minute. The outside sole has several crevaces to trap stones and debris, but is easily removed. There is ample shoestring length. The color shows more of a silver than it does any green, a sort of Kelly green (lighter green, like lime Sherbert). I have had only one other pair of shoes, so comfortable and pleasing, and that was my first and only pair of Reeboks, in the early 1980's. Hope these Avia Cantilevers lasts for a long time. I believe I received a great price for them. Thank you, Zappos!
