Love these boots! They are perfect except for one thing. I am short, 5'4". They hit me in the back of the knee when I am sitting. If I sit for a long time they can cause my legs to go numb. It didn't occur to me that when I see them in pictures hitting 6' tall models below the knee, that they would hit me right at the knee.

I usually take size 8.5, and have wide calves. Following the other reviews, I ordered a size 8, which was a good fit (even a little roomy). The tops even fit over my calves (though not with enough room to tuck jeans in). However, the tops turned out to be too high, and hit the back of my thighs when I tried to walk upstairs - alas! They would be great if my legs were longer, and a bit thinner.

Like them so far. Only worn them a few times, but they work great in the rain. Cover so much of your pant that they (the pants) never get wet.

I love these boots! They are exactly as described. I have 7½ size shoe and fit the 38/UK US Women's 7 perfectly! They rub a little at top where it touches the skin so I wear long socks. Other than that, they are great.

These boots are more of a matte color, and are cute.

Awesome boot! Felt great on feet; however, I do have an athletic calf and it was difficult to put on boots. I did have plenty of room, once I struggled to pull on boot. I got fleece inserts (not Hunter brand, but another popular bean, I mean brand). With the inserts and socks, it might be a little tight this winter. However, I\'m really happy with the sturdy boots and think they will withstand the harsh, wet and cold winters here.

I'm giving this boot 4 stars overall because it is a great-looking boot. It was just entirely too roomy for these feet. I could tell after just a few seconds that I'd have blisters the size of Kansas if I wore these for more than 10 minutes at a stretch. I am usually an 8.5 and ordered an 8. Going to try a 7 to see if that solves my problem - hoping so because they are fabulous looking!

Grrr! I bought a 7 and 8. A month later, still unsure which one to go with but I think the 8. I wear a 7.5-8. 7 kind of works but snug so forget heavier socks, 8 too big but works with thick sock/welly sock. 8 is also far easier to get off. Why Hunter doesn't put these out in 1/2 sizes is beyond me as it's so popular. I need a 7.5 in this boot. Also, I was surprised/disappointed to see a big (1 inch) height difference between the 7 and 8 which is another reason I'm sticking to the 8. I think with an insole insert - they'll be perfect for me. Love the look, etc.

I wear a true 7.5, so the boot is a little large in the toes. I also bought the welly socks but the medium was too big and bunched in the ankles and toes so that I could barely get my foot and leg into the boot. I tried the boots on with just skinny jeans and a pair of thick socks and the boots fit much better. They are very well made and have been great so far. The green is brighter than it looks online. I was hoping for more of an olive color and this is more forest green, but still a nice color and great product. I think the extra room is not really a problem for half sizes since the rubber still gives good traction. My feet do not slide inside. These are tight on people with muscular calves, though. Definitely only skinny jeans or leggings will work for me. Overall, I really like them. Just wish the welly socks actually worked. Also wish they came in half sizes! I'm now worried about the winter.

These boots look great, and are very durable. Unfortunately, the lining on the inside is starting to peel back from the heels, and I've worn the boots less than 10 times. It's possible this is happening because the boots are a little big on me, but I would still be wary. When you are spending this much money, you don't want any problems so soon after buying them.

I ordered these in the Chocolate color. Love the boot but not the color. It continues to have a film over the entire boot and does not look like the pic at all. I called Zappos about this and ended up buying some type of cleaner for wet-suits to try and get rid of this film. Not much improvement and additional money.

These boots are great. My one complaint is that the calves are quite narrow. I can wear them with riding pants, tights, and maybe skinny jeans. Won\'t fit many layers or welly warmers though, and my calves are not super big.

Unfortunately I had to return these because I ordered the wrong size...the conversions don't seem to be exact. I'm usually a perfect size 9 (don't even try on shoes most of the time in stores) but I needed the womens 8, UK size 6. Other than the size, I loved everything about these shoes, the height, the color, the slight heel all seemed perfect. And the reason I give 4 stars instead of 3 is because Zappos' 24-hour support was wonderful. I called during my return process after discovering the size I was exchanging for was sold out, and the service was quick, kind, and helpful.

The size of the foot is slightly big. If you\'re athletic you might want to go a size up because the calves of the boot are a little too small.

Even though I like the look I don\'t think they are that comfortable. They are a bit heavy for my taste. I am thinking about returning this pair.

My last rain boots were $18 and i had them for 6 years, so I wasn't quite sure needed to buy such expensive new ones when they fell apart. But I gave the Hunter boots a go and I am so glad I did. They are great... I like the way they look so much I find myself wearing them when it isn't even raining. They are orthopedic, so they are comfortable to wear. and because they are rubber and not plastic, my ankles aren't sore after wearing them. I am usually a 6 1/2, because of the other reviews I bought a size 5 and 6. the 5's were a little tight, the 6's are perfect and leave room for thick socks.

The boots are really cute, but not for people with short legs. I ordered a pair and the top of the boot hit my knee. I had to cut the top inch of the boot off in order for it to fit properly.

I love these boots! Prior to purchasing, I did read that you should order them a size smaller than your normal size. I'm usually a 8.5 or 9 so I got the 8 and they fit great! Please note that if you have big calves, these may not be the right boots for you, they're a tad narrow. Otherwise, I fully recommend these boots.

This boots are great! Very comfy, but really hard to slip off and I don't even have large calves. I bought a full size down and they fit very well. Normally wear a 7 and bought a 6. If you have the money-- buy these boots but remember you will need help getting them pulled off!

I ordered the boots in brown and they fit well and are quite useful. With a pair of wool socks, perfectly dry and comfortable and warm. Slosh through anything really, and bypass anyone timidly walking down the street for fear of wrecking their ill-advised-for-winter shoes! My problems are that after walking through slush or water, the heel seems to take water in and you can hear it when you walk on drier surfaces. The water doesn’t get in the boot so far, but it’s an annoying noise and who knows where the water is. But my biggest problem is the overall look: the brown boot is cute, but I should have ordered glossy because the rubber seems to have white streaks all over it and there doesn’t seem like there is anything I can do to fix it. They just look dull and dirty and though my inclination is to oil them to make them look better, I know that is not good for the rubber, so I don’t do that. Very disappointed in the look, especially since I wear them with work clothes for my morning commute. These boots are great, but this white streaking problem draws a fine line between making them look like farm boots and like cool urban survival tools!

I was disappointed in the color - they are very chalky, and not as pictured, but they are comfortable and keep you dry so they work for their purpose.

Best colour! Picture doesn't really show this but it's a dark brown/black/green that goes with all colours. Bought for my mother in USA, she thinks she has to wear skinny jeans with these. That might be case in USA fashion but in UK, everyone from Queen to paupers wears these in bad weather with all clothing including skirts and dresses (within reason of course). No more salt stains ruining your leather shoes. Just buy warm socks or liners or your feet will freeze (hence the 4 star rating). The short boot version is nice too and perhaps more practical for some.

Ordered the size 9, but a size 8 came instead, just as well. Tried the size 9 on at my local store for the fit and the nine was huge. I usually wear a size 9 or 9 1/2. I ordered the polar fleece socks, too, which really helped them fit better even though they were a size smaller. I have to say the sock really allows me to wear them even in the snow, although I wouldn't wear them as a snow boot, not enough warmth. But in the after snowstorm slush they have been great. I agree with all the other reviews in that the top of the boot can be snug around the calf and I have a pretty narrow/muscular one. I would highly recommend trying these on at a local store before ordering them. The size can be a bit trick to fit and don't expect them to fit like a regular boot. All in all I love them! You can't beat the protection from the water!

I love these Hunter boots. I wear a size 7.5 and ordered the 39/UK 6 (US Women's 8/US Men's 7) in Chocolate. They are a little larger than I would like, but I just ordered the Welly fleece sock (from a UK store because I couldn't find the yellow I wanted anywhere else), and they should fit perfectly with those added, which is ideal. I've loved the look of the Hunter boots for a long time. These days I see them modeled in catalogs with skirts and I think it's such a sexy look. I bought the Hunters with that in mind, along with the fact that they are a great asset when the weather here gets wet and muddy. I read reviews about the issue with height and where the boot hits on the leg, and they were right. I'm 5'4" and the boot comes right up to my knee, but not over. I don't have trouble walking, but tucking my jeans in and stepping in is an art! Either way, I love them. I got them the day before Thanksgiving (I can't say enough about Zappos), and I wore them in our back yard playing football, so if you're not that ambitious when wearing rain boots, you'll love them. Great buy for the money, and I can't wait to wear them with a cord skirt I ordered. I'm also considering getting another pair in one of the bright colors.

These are pretty critical if you live in a city with almost no drainage and a ton of doggy poo on the streets. I like them; the only reason that they aren't perfect is that they run pretty wide. I have size 10 feet, but my feet are narrow so that even with thick socks they are not totally fitting, but that is generally the price I have to pay for all my footwear. Oh, the other disappointing thing is that although Hunter are a proud British brand these guys are, you guessed it, made in China.
