Leaky Rainboots!!! I too thought I would invest in a good pair of rain boots and be done with it. These are expensive! But after two seasons of moderate rain, one boot started to leak. Then the other did too. I was so disappointed. I wrote to Hunter, and they responded that I was past the one year warranty, and that I should take them to a cobbler and see if they could help. "Sometimes it works," she said. I was not going to throw good money after bad. If you spend this much on rain boots, you need them to last more than a year, no? Thanks for the tip on LL Bean! I forgot about their warranty. I will definitey go there!

Wish I would have known about the blooming effect prior to spending this much for rain boots. After wearing them once, the boots have this disgusting film which does not wipe off with a damp cloth.

I wish that they fit a bit more closer; meaning it was a bit wobbly and had too much free space. I guess the larger the size, the more it becomes not-too-cute.

Crappy, weak boots, made in China. Yes, these will last you slightly longer than a pair of $50 wellies... but only slightly. It's been about a year since I bought mine, and the heels have almost completely worn through (and I mostly wear them on grass in the park!). After doing some research on Hunter's own page, I found out that the Hunter wellies made today no longer use any of the same processes as they once did. They are made using cheaper materials and manufactured in China. Yes, this is happening everywhere, with many companies, and while I think it's disgusting that they fired hundreds of Scottish workers just to be able to exploit Chinese workers, another important reason NOT to buy these boots is that they wear through after a year. My boots that wore out are the Hunter originals, but I'm posting this on all Hunter boots because the issue is the same for all. I believe both Le Chameau and Aigle boots are still made in Europe, and they're not that much more expensive!

Before ordering these boots I carefully read most of the reviews, but then decided that the complaints about calf circumference would likely not be an issue for me. Of course the company expects men with a size 13 foot to have a large calf, right? Wrong. I could only just get the boot pulled on over my bare leg. That and the shoe was slightly too large, so I'm sending the pair back and trying the shorter version.

I liked these so much for the first year I had them, and they fit well, but even following the Hunter care recommendations they’ve now cracked along the sole and are useless. At this price I was expecting a boot I’d have for many years - really disappointed to be forced to throw them out after just a year’s use.
