My daughters and I bought these boots for my husband for Christmas in 2020. We live in Colorado so he only wears them in winter. The rubber on the uppers has split completely through on both boots along the big toe side. One of the leather straps that held D-ring for laces has also torn off. His pair of Polar Sorels that he owned prior to these lasted over 20 years. Too bad quality is not at all the same.

I live in Wyoming and a good pair of winter boots are essential. This is my third pair of Caribou boots. The first pair lasted 24 years. The 2nd pair lasted one year then the rubber on the toes cracked and the boots began to leak. I figured I just got a bad pair. I received this pair as a Christmas gift and they lasted less than 90 days, cracking in the exact same place as the last pair. These boots are junk. DO NOT BUY.

I have had these boot for about 3-4 years. I only really wear them during snowy days, so I estimate I have worn them about 20 times and now there is a 1.5 inch crack on the rubber near the big toe. The crack goes through and, of course, render the boots not waterproof and pretty worthless. I really have not worn these boots enough for this problem to happen. Reading other reviews this seems to be an issue with many others too.

I have always worn Sorel Boots. For over 45 years they have been my go to boot when the weather is extremely cold and accumulating snows are forecasted. Been using these boots for all my hunting trips when your gear is most important for your comfort and success. I was hugely disappointed as after ordering two pairs of Caribou wool boots at two different sizes 9.5 and 10, the 9.5's one boot felt larger then the other. Upon further inspection I noticed that the left boot without the liner in had some raised rubber defects most likely contributing to the fit issue. The rubber appears to be poorly clued at the seems and is not a molded one piece and is also not steel shank rubber. Where the leather becomes one with the rubber there were raised areas that will quickly lead to decay of the overall boot. There seems to be a poor and lack of attention to detail in quality and the use of cheaper materials overall. Hence this is an imported boot and is intended for maximum production and profit. It is surely not the Sorel's from its earlier inception. Missing the Kaufman manufacturing out of Canada.

I was very disappointed with the quality of this product. Right out of the box, I noticed that the sole was separating from the boot's upper portion at the seam where they're glued together. Growing up in WI, I had numerous pairs of Sorel boots and they were bombproof. I will not reorder another pair of Sorel boots.

This is the third pair of these boots over the years. I wear them a lot, snowshoeing, walking the dog, shoveling and running errands, when the conditions require it. The last pair lasted me over 20 years. So I didn't even look elsewhere.

Best rugged, comfort designed boot I've ever worn. I may be able to postpone both ankle joint replacements indefinitely.

This is the second pair of Sorel Caribou Boots I have purchased. The first one was in 1983. They lasted over 40 years! They moved with me from Montana to Colorado, to South Africa, to Wisconsin, to Texas and back to Colorado. Talk about quality, endurance, warmth, comfort and performance. I'll never have to buy another pair... if these last 40 years ... unless I live to be 100. Excellent product! Well done Sorel.

Very comfortable and warm. Exactly what I was looking for. They are a little heavy but the weight is worth the overall fit.

I have always wanted a pair of Sorel Caribou's! They seem a bit narrow, but that may correct as the lining breaks in. Otherwise, very comfortable and warm for the Michigan winters. Lighter in weight than I expected. I hope they have the durability they're known for.

Warm and comfortable. I wear a 7.5 normally but the 8 was a good fit to wear the boots with wool socks and not have my feet over crowded. Love the boots.

I had these great boots only in smaller size 50 years ago! I wore them in Wisconsin and then here in Washington when we got snow in the Seattle area and to the mountains to play in the snow. I bought new liners, but they were too small, and the tread was wearing down. I was happy to get my new boots this December! They fit perfectly and are so warm! They will last for me as long as I shall live!

I love my new boots! They are extremely comfortable lightweight and warm. They do run on the larger side and you should get a smaller size than you normally wear.

I love SOREL Caribou boots. Plural because three pairs of boots have taken me through three decades. I've replaced multiple boot inserts with the furry tops that slip into the main leather boot, but the boots carry on. My first pair kept my feet toasty through a Colorado high country winter near Vail. My brother told me I needed SOREL boots because they would keep my feet warm and dry. And because that's what the locals wore in that mountain town in below-zero temps. At 40 below, I breathed through a wool scarf to filter the cold as I walked to work a short quarter-mile downhill, glad my feet were warm (ya cannot start a truck in that cold--oil is too thick). The second pair got me through snows in Nevada in the shadow of the Carson and Sierra Nevada mountains near Lake Tahoe. I slogged through the small stables behind my cousin's Reno home and threw hay to her horses. Adventures followed in snow and mud and muck and desert washes. By the third pair, I'd moved back to Utah along the Wasatch range, and my feet were warm while standing on a sheet of packed snow and ice all day loading beginners on a ski lift for one winter. And through city storms and country miles in Southern Utah and then three winters in a tiny town called Santaquin where I freelance edited online for ad agencies and scattered birdseed for wild birds after packing down snow underneath the feeders. And now it's time for the fourth pair. Wonder what I will do in this new decade, in my new boots with their clean new inserts, with new dreams. One thing I know. My feet will be warm and dry.

I went dogsledding in -18* F weather in Ely, MN and was loaned a pair of these boots! My feet never once got cold and upon returning home I bought this same boot for my next excursion up North! I found the fit to be slightly (very slightly) wider but you want your feet to be comfortable in extreme weather and to allow room for thick wool socks! Love Love Love this boot!

I love these boots! I was looking for a mid-height boot for time outdoors (fishing, exercising dog, etc) and for running errands that would be warm yet not as tall nor heavy as the Joans (which I also love). Sometimes in MN one needs the height of the Joans, but most often for a quick outing a shorter, lighter boot will do. They are heavy (but not as much as the Joans); if you are looking for a light boot these are not for you. These boots are comfortable and keep my toes warm even during extended times below zero. Easy on/off as well. I did order a size up as I have a wide foot; my daughter has a normal width, same length foot and ordered shoe size - both fit us well
