I bought these boots in black as well as the gray and they are seriously awesome. They look good with everything. They are comfortable. I personally think Frye makes the best boots. Last year I bought the Frye over the knee style and I've worn them in snow and rain. As long as you take care of them -- they will take care of you!!

It's my first time to order Frye boots and why not, I instantly love it! I ordered half size up and voila it fit right, I can wear it with thick socks (which I prefer to wear it this coming winter) and I can wear it with my skinnies yay! :) Now I'm thinking of purchasing it in brown and not good for my budget. Anyway, as always Zappos rocks! received it less than 24 hours, now that is good service, right. :)

I love my Frye boots! I own these in light tan. They are very comfortable, and have soft leather. They are not too heavy, but are just right. I am 5'4" 110 pounds and have mega skinny legs. These are a little looser around my legs than the taller Veronica Slouch. I do not wear these quite as often as I wear my Veronica Slouch boots but these are still really cute. These can be worn up or cuffed over. Either way I think you will love these boots. They are true to size, and comfortable without socks too!I love you Zappos! You are the best!

I bought the higher version of this boot (the Veronica Slouch) several years ago. They were difficult to pull on, especially when tucking in jeans. I just received this shortie style, and they are a vast improvement! Easy to slip on, true-to-size, not too "bikery" looking so that they can be worn both casually, with jeans, as well as with skirts and tights. The heel slips a bit, but that can be adjusted. Really good looking boot.

I never spend this much money on shoes but I love these boots so much! I'm really happy I indulged. The style is great and they are easy to tuck jeans into. They have kept their shape and the style is fantastic...not too boxy but tough looking. I'm really happy with them.

I bought these boots in the Stone Stone Wash color. I am usually a 7 or a 7.5, but the size 8 fit well. I absolutely love the color. I have not worn them for a full day yet, so I will still have to wait to see if they are comfortable after an entire day of wear, but initially they appear as though they will be very supportive. The color is so unique. I think they have just become one of my favorites. If you are hesitant to buy these because of the cost, go for it -- they are worth every penny. I think these boots are very versatile and can be worn with many outfits. Jeans do slide over them and I think they will look adorable with a cute skirt or shorts. Hope this helps. Go up at least a half size.

I love these boots! The shaft height is perfect. They are not too heavy and do not feel clunky. I have wanted them for a while but was afraid that they would be too biker. But they turned out to be just right!

These boots are amazing! Well worth the money. They go well with everything and have that perfect worn in effect. Very comfortable and true to size.

This is a great looking boot but a little stiff when new. I normally wear an 8 in Frye boots but wore an 8 1/2 in this style.

This was my first pair of Fryes and I'm sure won't be my last. These boots are made like a dream. The leather is high quality and the construction is unlike any boots I currently have. I got my usual size of 8.5 and they fit fine. My heels slips up a bit in the back but after wearing them for a couple of hours, it went away and they seemed to 'fit' to my foot. They aren't too clunky to walk in and they're the perfect height for jeans or shorts. I got the black and I absolutely love them. They look and feel like they will last forever. No more cheapo boots for me!

I love this boot! I was originally looking at the engineer style but after reading the reviews, decided it was a bit too clunky and boyish. I'm glad I got the Veronica shortie instead! It's rocker chic and everyday all in one. This boot looks cute with minis, jeans (rolled up, tucked and under bootlegs). The vintage brown color is dark enough to go with black without looking too brown. They were just a bit tight when I first tried them but after a few minutes, truly fit perfectly. Frye quality is fabulous and will last forever. Now I want a taller pair as well!

Can't say enough positive things about this boot. I have the higher shaft Veronicas as well. The others fit like a glove and no break in time. The shorties are a bit loose in the heel but easily fixed with an insert or thicker sock. I would have these in every color if I could. Love how fast Zappos ships and how easy the returns are. I rarely buy shoes anywhere else.

I normally buy an 8 or an 8.5 depending on the shoe. Based on comments already made, I bought an 8.5 instead of an 8 for my slightly wide toes. An 8 probably would have worked fine, but the 8.5 is very comfortable without needing much in the way of breaking them in. The leather feels wonderful. I did think the calf would be more narrow, but it just means I can only wear them over jeans and probably not under them. All in all, I can see wearing these quite regularly with a variety of outfits.

Love them! Saw them in a magazine on Gywenth Paltrow and had to have them. They are rock and roll!

I was excited to order these shoes with a holiday gift card. They are pricier than what I normally pay for shoes but they seem like they will last. I recently had my shoe size measured at REI, where they did a really careful job and said that I am between a 6.5 and 7 in one foot and a 7 in the other. I ordered 7 in these -- I would say they may run a bit small. I had trouble getting my feet in at first and they are a little tight in width. However, after about 5 wearings they are stretching out a little and I think I would probably still order this size over going up to 7.5. I can now slip them on and off pretty easily. These shoes needed a little time to break in for me -- nothing terrible but my left heel experienced a lot of rubbing and some blistering at first. That seems to be over now. I love the look of these boots and the quality is great, so I am happy with the purchase overall. Don't despair if they seem a little tight or painful at first. For me they did need breaking in time and now they are much more comfortable.

They were a bit uncomfortable the first time I wore them but never left blisters. By the second time I wore them, they were already broken in! I think I will get many years of use out of these!

This boot is outstanding in every possible way! I am completely delighted with this purchase. The fit is perfect and they actually make you feel as if you're walking barefoot, they are so comfortable. I have never before experienced such a balanced boot! This is my first pair of Frye's and I will definitely be back for more. The Veronica shortie is a "women's" boot unlike some of the other engineer styles. Just beautiful. I adore them!

Great boot! I was nervous about the sizing after reading that some thought the boot was a half size too small or a half size too large. I went with my gut and got a half size up from my usual 6.5, and couldn't be more pleased with the decision. I have a bit of a wide foot and the half size up was a good decision only because of my wide foot, otherwise, the shoe is absolutely true to size!

Love these boots! So solid and well-made. They look great with tights or leggings and skirts, or skinny jeans. I have worn them under bootcut jeans too, but then you can't see how great looking they are! Very comfortable and true to size. I have a wide foot and sometimes go up half a size in boots, but in these I ordered my regular size. Fits great. On the first couple of wearings they felt snug and I almost panicked, but the fine leather soon relaxes and they feel now as if they were made for me.

I love Zappos great service! I also love these boots! They were a little stiff at first, as to be expected with boots, but after one wear they were fine. I did have to stretch the left boot, for it was a tad more tight than the right. My left foot is a little bigger than my right, as feet are with most people. My pinkie toe is a little bigger from being broken years ago, but after one night of stretching with a boot stretcher, it was good to go. These have even held up in all the rain we've had here in CA. I love the look of these boots. They're very different from what I normally wear. They're edgy, which is a different look for me. I've gotten a lot of compliments while wearing them. I ordered both a 7.0 and a 7.5 because I couldn't quite tell what size to order from all the different reviews. I hope my review helps. As I said, the 7.0 was a little tight on the left foot, but the 7.5 was too loose; my foot flopped up and down inside when walking. I normally wear a 7.0 in shoes, sometimes a 7.5 in boots if the width is narrow, so I would say these run true to size because the 7.0 fit the best.

Perfect! I wanted a boot that had the motorcycle edge, but was not too extreme to wear to work in a school. Just got the Veronica Shortie in black and I absolutely love them. They will look good with skinny jeans tucked in, yet the toe box is hefty enough to carry off boot cut cords. I wear an 8 1/2 and the fit is just right. They are comfortable right out of the box and are very easy to put on, even with a high arch. I am amazed that Zappos could get these boots here within 24 hours despite the whole east coast air system being delayed due to a nor'easter! Another happy ending. Thanks Zappos.

These boots are wonderful. Slipped right on no problems. Knew they would need some added arch support by reading the reviews so put supports in and we were ready to roll. Feet were not aching after standing all day & lots of compliments from my clients. I also expect them to get me across campus to my art classes just as comfortably as the Ariat Fat Babys and Keen sports sandals have. Went with 1/2 size up and it was the perfect size for me. I do vary between 9-9 1/2 so I went with the 9 1/2. They seemed slightly stiff but they are brand new and I know the leather will soften in the ankle area as worn. Right now I'm feeling these are worth the extra money and I expect to have them for years to come. Love Zappos!

Finally! When I decided I wanted a pair of Frye boots I had no idea what a quest it would be. I could have saved myself, and Zappos, a lot of trouble if I had tried these first. At first I thought they were way too tight, and would turn out to be too narrow for my wide feet like the Harness boots were, but thank goodness I decided to shove my foot in and wear them for 30 minutes before I threw them back in the box. Now you'd have to pry them off of my cold, dead feet! Thank you Zappos for your patience. You have a loyal customer for life and I've been singing your praises to everyone I know. There's no way I'll buy boots anywhere else ever again as long as Zappos is in business.

This is a gorgeous boot! I ordered my size and a half size smaller. I was so disappointed when one was too tight and the other too loose. This was my first Frye purchase and the boot I was so excited about! It's gorgeous, such a cute style, soft supple leather. Quality plus! Hopefully, I won't have this problem with my next Frye purchase.

I've been searching for my perfect first pair of Fryes for a long time and these are definitely it! I got the dark brown vintage brush color, and it's a very nice, rich dark brown with some subtle red tones; very beautiful. I got a half size smaller than my regular size 8 because I tried on the regular Veronica slouch boot in a store (fits the same as Veronica shortie) and there was too much heel slippage. So I ordered the shorties (perfect for my 5'4'' height) on Zappos in 7 and they fit great. There's still a very slight heel slippage, but no big deal. At first when I put on the boots, the right one felt a little tight width wise across my foot, but after literally just a few hours of wear, both boots completely molded to my feet and now feel perfectly comfortable. Keep in mind that if either boot feels tight in any area on your foot at first, the leather will always stretch and give. I love these boots and would definitely recommend them!
