Love these boots! Takes a solid week and some leather conditioner to break in, since- they have been my go to shoe. I have been wearing them several days a week for well over a year and they are still going strong. The dark brown does scuff off on the toes a bit, the leather is beautiful though not quite as robust as the harness boots. Pretty true to size, I am a 7.5 heel, 8 boot and I wear with smart wool socks all winter to keep my toes warm. No regrets!

So I finally, after months of wavering, ordered these boots. So glad I did!! This is my first pair of Frye boots. The leather is soft and luxurious....the cognac stone wash is beautiful and goes with anything! The right boot is slightly narrower than the left, however they have stretched a bit and formed to my feet like butter!! I have received tons of compliments on these boots. I will be ordering more Fryes from zappos! Definitely recommend! Zappos is great! Quick shipping and a wonderful return policy! I'm hooked.

These boots are amazing!! I just ordered the Veronica Shortie in cognac stone wash, and I adore them. First, a warning: these boots have a stiff leather upper and are therefore VERY PAINFUL to break in, but DEFINITELY WORTH IT. I made the mistake of wearing them to school the day after they arrived, and subsequently developed horrid blisters on my heels. I recommend wearing them around your house until they're comfortable. But about the style of the boot: I wouldn't change anything. The leather is beautiful, the bottom is just rugged enough, and I think they would be flattering on any leg. I'm 5'6 and I have chicken legs, so I was initially worried that they would look too clunky on my slender frame, but they didn't. They're great. I also think they're appropriate for all age groups. I'm 17, but I'm convinced that and 80-year-old could also rock these. I can also attest to the fact that there is no difference between the shaft heights of the Veronica Short and the Veronica Shortie. I ordered both, although I ended up returning the Short because I didn't love the color. Also, if you're afraid to purchase this boot in stone wash (stone or cognac, specifically) because it looks to bold or awkwardly colored, fear not! I was worried that the cognac stone wash would be too orange, but the coloring is actually beautifully natural. They look like a well-worn, 10-year-old pair of boots, but they feel brand new. Frye does the dirty work for you there. They're definitely worth the price, if that's what you're ultimately wondering. I can't find anything wrong with them except that you have to break them in. I haven't owned a pair of boots since high school, so this was a special purchase for me! I got the Dark Brown Vintage Brush Off color, and it is beautiful. It's definitely NOT distressed like a lot of the other color choices. They are very close to the pair pictured, but the upper leather is not as pebbled as shown; it looks smoother. My feet are a solid 8.5, but I often wear a 9. I got these in 8.5 and the size is perfect. They are a little bit tight across the widest part of my foot, but I'm confident that they will warm to my foot and stretch a little. (It is still our first day together.) As others have mentioned, my heel slips somewhat, but not horribly. I'm 5'2", and these boots hit exactly just below my calf muscle, which is perfect for me any higher and it would feel awkward. The quality of the boots is excellent and they have a very luxurious feel.

I have athletic calves so tall boots are difficult for me to find. The Shorties are perfect! They hit at the smallest part of my lower calf so they don't make my legs look huge, jeans tuck nicely into them, and they even look cute with dresses! I am not quite a 7.5 so there is some movement in the back of the heel and my feet did get a little sore the first time I wore them out, but since then they have been just fine with both socks and tights. I would definitely reccmmend these boots to anyone having a hard time finding wide calve boots. This is the perfect solution!

I tried a number of sizes and colors in the Veronica. I found the length to be perfect but the width a bit narrow. This was remedied quickly by wearing around the house a few times. Initial comfort not as high as other Fryes, but I expect them to catch up after a break-in period. I think they look adorable with dresses and skirts. It depends on your style. On me they look best with tights that are similar in tone to the boot (brown) - it makes for a longer-looking leg (which mine are not). I am five-two with muscular legs. The Slate was a lovely lovely color, but was too limiting for my wardrobe, and cut off my calf at the widest part (unless I always wore slate colored tights). Overall a thumbs up. Glad I have them.

These boots are great. They are really distressed, but that was the look I was going for. I am a 7 and ordered the 7 and they fit fine. They are a little narrow but did stretch after wearing them a handful of times.

LOOOOOOOVE! I own many pair of Frye boots, so I'm clearly a biased junky, but these are wonderful. Love the look, the feel, the sound they make when ya walk through the store or work, or anywhere!

These are my favorite boots. Definitely my "go to" footwear. Easy to slip on and off. So comfortable that I do not take them off when I get home. They make you feet feel good like Danskos, but much nicer on a size 10 foot than a Dansko. My teen daughter loves them on me. I can walk through airports and college campus all day in these

Love them! I have been wanting a pair of Frye boots forever. I finally bought the Veronica Shortie boots in the distressed black and I love them! They are so comfortable and don't need any breaking in. I bought my normal size and they fit perfect with and without thick socks. The distressing around the toe looks much more natural than in the picture. Best investment I've made in a pair of boots!

Love how these boots look, but they just don't fit my narrow foot. The boot flops up and down off my heel as I walk. Tried an insert. Didn't fix it.

The Frye Veronica Shortie became my favorite Frye boot the minute I put them on (I have the Engineer, too). They are slightly larger and looser than other Frye boots I have in 8.5 but I said they were "true to size" because I don't consider them a half-size larger than marked. There has been no break-in period required. I just love the finish on these. They definitely have a distressed look, so if you don't want that, get a different color/finish. Highly recommended!

They took a few wears to break it - pretty stiff, but they are great now. I ordered my usual 9.5 and they was a little big, slipping in the heal in a way that I knew would always be a problem, I had to send them back and get a 9 that fit nicely. They are pretty narrow in the toe; if your foot is at all wide, these boots will not work for you.

It took a day to get used to the natural slipping in the heel, but once I did, I couldn't stop wearing them.

I bought these boots in my exact size and they fit perfectly. I love everything about them, except the toe part is a little darker than the rest of the boot. Not too worried about it though because it will probably all even out over time.

I had been eyeing these boots for a while, and finally gave in and bought them. Absolutely worth every penny! They fit like buttah and I needed no break in time at all. The quality is impeccable as well. Also they allow room for jeans to be tucked in even with my wide calves! A definite must have!

Awesome boots! I normally wear a 7.5 but had to go up 1/2 size to an 8. They're comfy right out of he box. No blisters breaking them in. I got mine black burnished antique. It has a slightly distressed color to it. Upper leather is supple and soft.

I love these boots! They look great with everything. I expect them to last for 20 years they are so well-made. I'm still working on breaking them in (about a month in) but I can tell they will eventually be very comfortable...just not quite there yet. Still very happy despite the breaking in process (which I expected).

Love, love, love this boot! Color (gray) is awesome and very comfortable. I really can't think of anything that I don't love about this boot. One of my favorites! Also true to size. I do have a narrow foot, size 7 1/2 and the 7 1/2 was perfect. I highly recommend these boots.

These boots are incredibly comfortable! I have fat calves, and my skinny/legging jeans still fit inside the boot shaft, however straight/skinny jeans do not fit so well over the boot shaft. These boots are a staple in my closet and worth every penny!

Great boot, Frye always lives up to its name, these are very cool and look good with skirt and leggings or skinny jeans. These are well worth their money...buy them. I did buy a half size up as my foot is wide and I am glad I did because they fit really well and I don't think the leather will give much.

I love these boots as many other reviewers have stated. I will say that these boots had more break in time than my other pair of Fryes. Now that I have worn them for about a week, they are as comfortable as sneakers. I bought the Dark Stone Wash which has some distressing, but is not really worn looking. I chose this color because I can wear them with black and brown. It's a neutral brown. I have worn these with skinny jeans, corduroys, under boot cut jeans, and with dresses. They are very versatile in my opinion. I would also mention that I have larger calves and these are more flattering than taller boots on my legs. I bought size 9.5, my usual size, after receiving a 10 first and they were ridiculously big. I would say these are true to size.

This is my second pair of Frye boots and I have saved up for my second pair. The quality of these boots is worth the price. The Veronica Shortie had no break in time. I wore these for a full 9 hour day of work, no sitting, right after I received them. No discomfort, no hot spots. They look great too. Skinny jeans fit right into them, and they look great with skirts. Fryes are an investment piece worth the money.
