These boots felt very loose when I first got them but they ended up being perfect! I initially thought that they would be too big because leather stretches. After wearing them to a stand up concert and walking about three miles to and from parking they have conformed to my feet. I love them so far.

My husband bought these for me - with my assistance - for Christmas last year. I was so excited to get them and could not wait to put them on. This was my first pair of Frye boots so unbeknownst to me, I did not realize there was a break-in period. To my dismay, I was unable to wear them at first site and I was so disappointed because I so loved them! They were just as cute in person as they were in the photo. However, they were extremely difficult to put on as the leather was very stiff and rigid. It took about three weeks (maybe longer) for them to actually fit well. I had to suffer through a few blisters - not sure if I was breaking them in or if I just really wanted to wear them that bad - but nevertheless, the leather eventually softened. Once the winter passed, however and we went came out of boot season I went to wear them again this winter and they are rigid again. I neglected to place a shoe stretcher in them. All in all, they are a fine quality boot if you are ready and willing to give them the time to break in.

Very comfortable, great quality. I normally wear a 6 wide width (c/d), so I ordered a 6/5,and these fit just fine on a wide foot. Bought them in 3 colors!

I ordered these in my in between sizes of 9½ and 10. 10 seemed clunky so I decided to do the break in and chose the 9½. It took a while of wearing them a few hours at a time to really get them to feel comfortable. I got the black stonewash which seems to be a thicker leather. There is not as much slouch as the softer leathers but the look is very cool like you have had them for years and I achieved that model off duty look that I was going for. (For the shoes at least) I feel like these will be my go to boots for years!

I love these boots. I have a pair in black. Unfortunately, I just can't find a pair in camel color that feels comfortable. My other pair feels like comfy slippers, but I tried two different sizes and another color. I couldn't find another pair as comfortable as my black Frye Veronica Shorties.

These are absolutely beautiful boots! I am so happy to finally own these! Out of all my Frye boots these were the hardest ones to find in the correct fit (same sizes fit differently). Thankfully Zappos has such a great return policy! It took me three tries! I was a little disappointed not to get the actual Frye box they come in but instead a generic brown box. Zappos claims sometimes items are returned without the original box. That is kind of a bummer since they are not cheap shoes and it is my Christmas gift from my family. Oh well, I am just so happy to find a pair that work!

This are the perfect boot for me. I have wider feet and fallen arches from years of running. They fit looser but are made to fit this way. I can wear these boots all day and they never hurt my feet. I did not go down or up in size and they were a great fit for me.

I LOVE these boots. Fit like a dream from the moment I slipped them on. The supple leather gives a boho luxe vibe. No issues with breaking them in. Did I tell you I love these boots?

I am in hog heaven! I have hard to fit, large feet, with wide toes and my left foot has top of foot nerve pain from a bone spur/surgery six years ago. I have been lusting after, yet afraid to try, Frye boots with a harness strap on top because it seemed inevitable that they, too, would press down on my bump. After trying numerous other boots and shoes over the years, I finally caved and ordered these. They are more expensive than my budget truly allows, but after trying the less expensive ones and not having luck, I was desperate. It is getting cold, and I need some closed shoes, already! I am wearing them today at work. It is only the fourth day that I have had them on my feet, and I have very sensitive feet. I am shocked that I have managed to wear them almost an entire day at work a few days ago, and again today. The toe box is wide enough, hallelujah! They are breaking in rapidly, but do have a few areas that will need more time and wear to make them ridiculously comfortable, but I can tell they will be. Even on the top of my left foot, once I treat these as I did the Paige boots. I ordered the Paige tall riding boots this summer (I turned 40 and got myself a big present) and while I love them, they are not breaking in as fast as these, and the sole is much thinner so I fear it will be harder on these old bones to walk in them vs these Veronicas. But overall I love both pairs. And I have shoe stretchers that I put inside other pairs of leather boots for months on end, using leather stretching lotion, and they did not make a single difference in how they pressed on that top bump/nerve pain area of my left foot. But I used the shoe stretcher and a wadded up sock on top of it just for a few nights, and the buttery soft leather of the Paige boots already has stretched out where I need it to, so that ticked off nerve can start to calm down again. Hooray! Hooray for being poor now, but having great boots!

These boots were really beautiful, especially the Whiskey color. I like how they are stiff and not slouchy. I normally wear a 7.5 but the 7 fit me perfectly. They seem to run a half size big.

I've wanted to buy these for two years now and finally splurged. These are adorable! My new favorites. They are super stylish and cute. They look great with leggings and tights. They do feel a tiny bit smaller then my other Fryes. I think I should have order a half size up.

These are my first pair of Fryes. When I first tried them on, my heels slipped up and down. After wearing them a few times, they don't slip anymore. Mine fit true to size. Love them!

I love Frye boots but I do typically find them heavy and clunky. These ones are perfect! They are not heavy but still have the Frye signature style! Very happy with these.

Love this boot from an appearance perspective. It was clear that it would take some time for me to break them in before I could be comfortable so I returned.

I listened to the majority of reviewers on these, and instead of ordering 1/2 size down, got 9 as I am a true size 9 wide. The heels feel looser, but the Frye website states this is normal and should improve with wear and time. I can wiggle my toes. They are extremely cute, not too rugged - I ordered the black waxy tumbled. Not too shiny and not too weathered. Was looking at the Veronica Tall with back zip, but unsure about back zip itself - so got these instead. The fit is perfect, I can wear thicker socks if needed, cute, cool boots. I also have a pair of Carson pull ups in 8 1/2B, which fit like a glove, have been a staple for 6+ years. Now I have invested in Paige tall riding as well, 8 1/2 B - feel perfect after wearing around the house a day or two. I am sure the fit is different for everyone based on toe shape, etc. With my wider feet, the 9's are perfect.

Full disclosure - I bought my Veronica shorties on Amazon in the Slate Burnished Antique color (which is beautiful! a very taupe-y grey). Just posting here for sizing reference for other hopeful buyers - I buy from Zappos often and use the reviews as a reference guide even when I'm not! I am an 8.5 normally and sometimes a 9, and wear an 8.5 in the Frye engineer style. I wish I had gotten a 9 in these. The 8.5 is super tight and will hopefully stretch out, but I think I would have been much happier with a 9. The quality and style of the boots are great and add a little flare, especially in this color.
