Better Quality from Cole Haan - Since Cole Haan was acquired by Nike, over all quality has apparently slipped somewhat. However, I found this pair of Douglas penny loafers to be an exception. The shoes are well constructed of very nicely finished, quality leather - in a word, handsome. Zappos, as always in my experience, gave great service yet again!

Cole Haan Douglas Shoes - I have owned Cole Haan shoes in the past and was looking for a business casual shoe that didn't take as much time to break in and yet, had a classic style that fits in with my wardrobe. These shoes are certainly that and more and I am glad to add them to my collection.

Just like the old days - I've been looking for Weejuns look-alike for some time now. Glad I found these. A quality shoe that looks good and feels good.

Best kick-around loafers I've ever owned - I've been wearing these shoes for about 8+ years. They are great. Comfortable, good-looking and solid. Even though they are showing wear, they still are a great shoe. The leather is dynamite; it will stretch over time, though, if you wear them as hard as I have. I like them so much I had them re-soled about three years ago.

I like the looks of these shoes and will keep them. However, the inside of the shoes are not as comfortable as previous similar Cole Haan loafers that I have owned. The interior of the sides is rough rather than smooth, as is the interior of the toe area (inside top and inside bottom).

Disappointed. Longtime Cole Haan customer who owns several pairs of this shoe. These are different sole design and fit smaller than before. Top of toe area has dye imperfection. Unusable shoe. Will try to exchange, but short on time.

They look great and the quality is great. However, these are taking quite a long time to break in, and are a bit smaller than expected. I'm sure I'll love them once they finally stretch out and flex some.

With an E to EE foot, I almost have to order all of my shoes, which means I need to have two sizes sent and then send back the one that doesn't fit. For that, Zappos is great. Never a hassle. I ordered a 9.5W and a 10W and the 9.5W was way too small in both length and width. The 10W is perfect on width, but feels just a tiny bit longer. It should be in comparison to the 9.5. I'm a traditional penny loafer kind of person and I have always felt the Cole-Haans have a nice quality look and feel. I recommend them.

Cole Haan - Beautiful shoes. I ordered size 7 EE. They came in 7 wide. A little tight. I had to send them out to get stretched.

These shoes are much too tight. Should have ordered a size larger than my regular size. I kept thinking they'd loosen up. I took them to a shoe repair shop for "stretching." Nothing's helped.

The width was fine but the length seems a half size shorter than it should be. Overall comfort is only fair.

I found this shoe very uncomfortable. The inner sole pad stops before the ball of foot and makes walking on anything but carpet a painful experience for me. The leather is finished with lacquer and polishing with quality wax makes shoe look scaly and dull. I tested shoe indoors and didn't have a problem but walking outdoors to car I felt every pebble on driveway. I wish I had spent a little more money and bought the Nike Air version.

The leather feels much cheaper than other Cole Haan shoes I've purchased at this price point. I've worn Cole Haan for 20 plus years in a 9.5. I had to return these for a 10. Quality control issues?

Poorly built- Great looking - Bought these shoes in January of 2008. The sole is already coming off of both shoes around the toe. A hole has developed under both toes. The soles are sub-par and poorly attached. I wear these shoes to work on a daily basis and they performed well at first with my business casual wardrobe. Great looks- poor quality. Will buy the pinch penny next and use them only for work.

This is my 2nd pair! Neutral color, soft leather, comfortable, not too dressy and looks great with khakis and shorts.

I have worn these shoes for a full year, roughly 3 days per week for business. I loved wearing the shoes (although I missed the Air technology from my previous Santa Barbara), and they absolutely looked great. They are a classy shoe that can be worn business casual or dress. The downside is the shoes are not designed to last more than 6-12 months. The black ribbing above the sole started cracking at 6 months and started falling off around 10 months. Because of this they were unwearable by one year because they looked terrible. It's really a shame they didn't last longer because in all other respects they are a fantastic shoe.

These shoes do not last! Even with moderate wear and proper care (Shoe trees, etc), they didn't last 6 months. The leather (or synthetic leather) dressing between the shoe and the sole cracked and came off - exposing the unfinished leather heel. I just bought the Allen Edmond Montecito's - yes more expensive but the difference in quality is striking. So long Cole Haan!

The shoes are great. I knew what I was getting,as this is my second pair. I wore them everywhere,but alas I ruined them by spilling solvent all across the front. I thought that I might not be able to get another pair because Nordstron did not have them in their inventory. I was glad to discover that I could get them from you. Second time really is a charm. Great shoe, great service. Thanks.

Great style, great look. Like all Cole Haan shoes I buy, these need to go through the stretching out process. If they fit immediately, they will stretch too much.

Great basic loafer. Classic design. Guaranteed to always be in style.

I have had 3 pairs of this same shoe over several years, and they are a favorite of mine. The are one of the few Cole Haan shoes that come in wide width. It is narrower than Cole Haan Pinch series, which is a EEE I believe, while the "W" is only an E. It is snug on my foot (I prefer as wide as I can get, EEE to EEEEE), this one does stretch well. The first week is snug, first month fits, and after that, it feels better than house slippers. Comfort rating is only because I have to break them in. Lasts well, durable. Only problem I had was the last pair -- in the first week, I started to hear a squeak, which persisted into the 2nd week. Called Zappos, they said to send back, and shipped out replacement, free shipping, no questions asked.
