Love these shoes, but they stretched out quite a bit and now are floppy. I wear a solid 8 and ordered a 38 first, but my toes hit the front. Then I ordered a 39 and they seemed to fit fine. After a month of wearing them often they've stretched about a whole size. I probably needed a 38.5, but they don't make that size. Not sure what I'll do.

I ordered this shoe hoping to find a cute, comfortable sandal for travel. Knowing I'd be walking a lot, I thought Mephisto's might be perfect. These sandals are very cute (I got the silver disco) and fairly comfy. My one complaint is that you kind of have to grip the bottom with your foot when you walk or else they feel like they are going to slip off. Needless to say, I could not walk for great distances in these. But, I do like them and still wear them.

Disappointed -
I bought these shoes last summer (after my husband insisted it was worth the $ to buy good sandals) and am very disappointed. I do have skinny feet so that might be a big part of the problem, but they feel like they are going to slide right off. I think they may have stretched after wearing them a while. (They actually have climbing the stairs) I also find that the material at the top of the thong is curling upwards and looks funny now. It laid flat when I first bought it. The arch support is moderate, but for the price I paid, I expect perfection. Would not buy Mephistos again. Just bought some Merrells... love them!

Great for a day.
I am so disappointed with this shoe. When I first put them on they were like heaven and they looked great, but after a day of walking in them, they were flat and stretched so much that they’re hard to keep on now. I'll stick to my Reef flip flops.

This shoe would be fine for someone without serious joint issues. For those who need extra cushioning and a great looking shoe, may I suggest the new
Adolana sandal by Mephisto. Costs a little more, but definitely worth every penny.

As a longtime fan of Mephisto, I am sorely disappointed by the fit and feel of these beautiful looking thongs. The footbed is narrow so my feet hang over the sides. Also, the footbed is not nearly as well constructed as other Mephisto shoes I've worn throughout the years. Hugely disappointed!

First, I would like to say that I love Mephistos. However, I have never been so disappointed. The color looks nothing like the picture. The color is so dark, it's almost black. Secondly, the strap is so tight that I can't get my foot to stay in the shoe while I walk. Returning them asap.

They are almost perfect, but the part that goes between your toes - the 'thong' - hurts! I wear thong-style shoes all of the time and love them, but not these - they are going back. I'm bummed.

Did not wear well -
I was so excited when I found this shoe... I thought they were the perfect balance between comfort and style. However, within 3 weeks of my purchase, the soles started wearing through on both shoes. Zappos was wonderful and replaced them for me, but by the end of the summer, the soles were completely worn out again and the leather had stretched out so much that they were uncomfortable to wear. The footbed also does not have any kind of bump near the toes, which makes the shoes even harder to keep on. On the whole, these were very disappointing for the price. I will look for a different brand this summer.

These shoes are VERY comfortable. This is my second pair. I wore the first pair for about five or six years. I showed my podiatrist all of my sandals after hurting my feet, and these were the only ones that she approved. She said that these shoes are good for your feet because they provide a lot of stability, unlike a lot of sandals of this type that have a very flexible footbed, which may feel comfortable at first but is not actually good for your feet.

The sandals are absolutely wonderful. I was weary of purchasing a thong without an ankle strap, but they walk like a regular sandal (without the flip and flop of other thongs). The support is wonderful and I think made of cork. They aren't great in water but they are the most comfortable sandal I've ever owned. They are also relatively attractive for comfort shoes, so I think the high price is reasonable. The calfskin color is a little shinier than the picture shows. Also after even just one wear there will be dark marks on the sole from your feet. It's not such a problem though because when you wear them you can't see it.

Lovely, and they have a super arch, critical to me, but the 39 seemed to run a wee bit short and it is definitely a narrower shoe than most mediums, so I must send it back.

These shoes are very comfortable! I can wear them shopping all day. I have narrow feet, and surprisingly, I am able to keep them on my feet. They do run a little short, compared to my Mephisto Helen sandals.

I've purchased two pairs of this shoe over the last 4 years, worn commuting about 2 miles a day during warm weather, and all day on most summer weekends. Incredibly comfortable for my narrow foot, sophisticated color (platinum pearl), not hippie/clunky, goes with everything. But each pair lasted less than 2 summers before breaking - thong ripped out of the sole on both pairs, both around the 1.8 summers mark. Perhaps this is to be expected for the amount of use they got, but at this price a pair, I'm tired of having to buy new ones with such regularity and am going in search of an alternative.

These shoes are really lovely and stylish, I ordered them in the red nubuck. I have a wide foot, and the Mephisto Helen in size 42 is my go-to sandal, fits perfectly. These are significantly narrower and shorter than the Helen in the same size. Didn't fit. I also didn't find the arch support or footbed to be on par with the Helen, I thought these were flatter and less cushioned.

The color is beautiful and the footbed felt good. However, the toe posts are placed too far forward and do not fit comfortably in the space between the toes. While the shoe felt comfortable at home, it made walking any distance difficult. Unfortunately I did not discover this until they were worn outside, so I could not return them. They are now an expensive pair of house shoes.

Love the look of this shoe and tried to wear it many times, but the toe post was too far forward for my foot, even though the size was correct in every other way. Gave them to a friend who wears a size larger than I and she had the same problem. If the toe post is too far forward, you never feel the shoe is really on the foot and have to keep pushing your foot forward into it. Disappointing, as I am a loyal Mephisto buyers.
