A heavy boot for life - I went on the advice of others and bought these boots a 1/2 size larger than my normal size. I find that unless I am wearing very thick socks, they tend to flop around. This was unexpected as I had previously purchased the "mule" version of this boot in my normal size and it was so tight and small. They are a good sturdy boot that will last for life!

Frye’s - I waited forever to order these boots! They always seemed to be out of my size. Finally I got a pair! My only concern is that I had a hard time getting them on & off. I have a high in-step. They seem to be softening up though the more I wear them and continue to get more comfortable each time. My heel does slip a little but does not blister.

I agree with others that reviewed this shoe - it was hard getting the boot on the 1st time, but it is comfortable once it is on. I bought one 1/2 size down b/c of what others recommended and it worked out well...all in all I'm pleased with the purchase.

I had actually bought a pair of Frye Harness boots, earlier, but they weren't as tall, so I always felt a little silly wearing them and never broke them it because they were so uncomfortable, but these are amazing. They only take a few days of intense walking to break in, and they've got a nice universal, but sturdy appeal. And of course, the more you wear them and break them in, the better they look. Zappos delivery time and customer service was amazing- I ordered them on a Friday and they came on a Monday. I would definitely order from Zappos again. And to echo what everyone else has been saying--go a little smaller when you order the boots. I normally wear a 9.5, but I ordered a 9. They'll stretch out as you break them in.

They look great. They are impossible to get on, for some reason, though. Don't wear them shoe shopping - disastrous. I walk a lot (NYC) and these are relatively comfortable, the width is great, though they feel a bit bigger than the size I ordered. My heel comes up when I’m walking--nothing two pairs of socks can't fix.

So cute!!! I ordered these boots last night around 6 o'clock and I received them today! They look and feel great (I've gotten lots of compliments already) but the only thing is that they are really hard to get on and off... I usually wear a size 8 but I ordered a 7.5. They feel comfortable once I have them on but getting them on and off is such a hassle!! So I might actually exchange them for a size 8..

Tricky fit - Heeding the advice from the reviews I ordered the boots a half size smaller than I usually do. They are really pretty tight to put on, but once on they are ok. The heel would have been too loose if they had been larger. These are the kind of boots that take a long time to break in, but once you do they will last forever.

Runs big - I normally wear an 8.5-9 women's and bought these in size 8 and they are still really loose. They look and feel great though.

Frye Harness - Fun boots, everyone needs motorcycle boots, especially if you're a mom. Fit fairly true to size, if you are used to cowboy boots, you'll know how they're supposed to fit. The heel slips slightly, but I need to break them in!

Watch the sizing, ladies! I have been coveting these boots for ages and finally decided to take the plunge. I tried them on in person and found that my usual size was too large, so I went ahead and ordered a half size down. When they arrived, I couldn't get my foot into the boot! An old cowboy trick (put a plastic bag over your foot to easily slip it into the boot) has saved me from having to return them, but I think breaking these in will take quite some time, as the leather is very good quality--and thick! Keep in mind that the toe box is very narrow, as is the boot shaft. But, man, they look good!

Frye Harness 12R W - Rugged yet feminine - As you can imagine, the pricing and shipping costs were the best on the web and in our local stores for this same product. As noted by previous reviewers, the toe box is tight but the leathers loosen up for a more comfortable fit. I can't imagine wearing thick socks though because pulling the boot can be difficult. I haven't worn these with a flirty skirt, but look forward to wearing one in the spring - something from Sundance catalog would look great. My hubby says they have a feminine look with being kind of rugged at the same time. These boots are built to last a lifetime of wear! The only negative I can convey is that my feet have ached after a day of wear but I hope this will subside.

Frey Harness Boot - Just loved the Frye Harness boots; however, had to order a half size larger due to instep... they are comfortable and look great.

These boots are great looking, but a little heavy after wearing them all day. They run true to size, but are a bit tricky to get on -- not easy to slip your foot into, but maybe they will give a bit with time. The color is great with jeans.

Too too tight - Nice boots but ran small. Stiff leather w/little initial "give". I'm returning them.

Great boot!! I really love this boot. It's way more comfortable than I anticipated. It looks great and is true to size. You'll love them.

Nice - Nice boot and great craftsmanship. The boot is very comfortable and I wear them with thick socks. They are true to size and I love the distressed leather and sturdiness of the leather. Strong boot, which appears it can last through any kind of weather related elements. I highly recommend the boot if you're looking for a tough boot and vintage appeal from Frye.

I bought 2 pairs one blue one brown - I love these boots and get lots of compliments on how they look. They are not the most comfortable boot however, around the toes they are a bit too tight for my comfort, and they are a bit heavy. I usually wear 8 1/2 or 9. And the 8 fit me.

Frye's Harness boot review from NYC - The boot is nice looking, though a little tight around the in-step (though could be my wide foot). I hope to get a lot of wear next winter, as these boots never go out of style.

Great look, weird fit- These boots look great but my right boot is a different fit than the left one. When I put the right one on, it gently slides. The left one, I have to stomp and kick. I want to wear them everyday but don't because of this.

Nice casual boot- I had wanted a pair of Frye boots for awhile and these were the softest through the shaft. Although it is a bit bulky at first, you do get used to the shape/style and it really is a very nice looking boot. It is great in any kind of weather and made very well. I know this boot will last me a lifetime. Buy a half size smaller.

Frye Harness - Love em! There was a minor flaw on the inside left heel on the leather, but my boyfriend convinced me that it contributed to the natural, distressed look...and since I wanted to wear them that day, I agreed!

Great Boot! Although the boot seems a bit too large when you first put it on, don't worry! As you wear them- with a heavier than normal sock- you will realize they really are the correct size for you.

Just received these boots (12/13/05), put them on and ready to take them for a spin outside. I wear a size 7M and ordered them in a 7M. I did this because these boots tend to run a little narrow in the toe box area, but, I also found that they are a little narrow in the ankle area, so if you have thick ankles, consider this. There is a little heel slippage, since they feel a little big (about 1/2 size bigger), but I kind of expected that. A couple of years ago, I had a pair of Durango Harness boots, same size7M, and there was slippage, narrow toe box, but the ankle area was not as narrow as these Frye’s. But this I know, from my Durango boots, that the leather stretched and eventually, my Durangos size 7M felt like 71/2 to 8. So I'm hoping that the same is true with Frye’s. We'll see. I ordered these Frye’s in the "Brown" color, which has a sort of weathered look, but I am pleased with this color. They look like they can go with anything from jeans to skirts. Once again, Zappos came through.

Give this one a chance - I was a bit nervous to order a half size smaller than my usual size 9, but after reading the reviews, I went with an 8.5. At first, my toes felt really cramped and I feared this boot just wouldn't work for me (the heel was a bit loose, so I knew a 9 would be too big). BUT, I wore them for short amounts of time for several days and finally, the leather relaxed in the toe box. Now they fit just fine! So, give them time to break in gently. These boots make me feel quite confident when I wear them. One small complaint: the shaft of the boot seems to have taken on the dark shades from my jeans. I have not treated the leather yet, so I may be to blame. The base of the boot is still tan, but the shaft has much darker bits now. Not a big deal, but I wanted to mention it. This boot is hot!
