These boots will get a lot of remarks from people! Did not take as long as many say it will to break them in. Wear them for a couple hours at a time at first and within a week or so they should be pretty comfortable and just make sure to cover any blistery spots on your feet with Bandaids to avoid rubbing your heels raw before the leather has gained some flexibility. They are also quite squeaky at first, but I've had them for a few weeks now and they have become much quieter. Very good quality, no doubt these boots will last forever.

I absolutely love these boots! They are uncomfortable when they're being broken in, but other than that, they are great. Very stylish and versatile.

I bought these for my daughter, who just started 7th grade, and she LOVES them. They are exactly what she wanted and she couldn't be happier. She says, "I wear Doc Martens now. Doc Martens are cool."

I ordered these for my daughter for her to wear on our mission trip to Ethiopia (during their rainy season). She didn't want to wear clunky waterproof hiking boots like the rest of us -- she wanted something more "hip" since she is 16 and more concerned about comfort and style. She is normally a size 6 and we ordered a size 6 and perfect fit. She wore them around the house a bit before our trip and then she had no problems wearing them all day/every day for 5 days in a row on our mission to Ethiopia. I know she will enjoy them for many years to come. They are a beautiful color!

When researching this boot I found that most people say that the boot fits true to size. In my experience I usually wear an 8 and a 7.5 on rare occasion, plus I have a wide foot. Well, these are super comfortable but I definitely could've gone a size down and had been comfortable, now I have to send them back.

I absolutely love my Doc Martens! I got my first pair, when I was in England visiting my son who was in the Air Force back in the mid 1990's...I'm now 62 years old and I bought the green ones and used the yellow shoe strings. All my young friends think they look really cool. I match a John Deere tractor pretty good too.

Okay, I'm planning on getting these, but i didnt get them yet. However, as i was watching the video review for these shoes, the zappos lady tried on a totally different pair of shoes! the ones she wore for the video are ugly! You can tell theyre different because there are only three grooves on the side of the shoes she wore, while these Docs have five grooves on the sides. Just letting you know. When i saw the end of the video, my face was like uhhh..ok..

Doc's look great and offer a great deal of comfort too. I mainly wear mine as work shoes (on my feet for hours) and, even with foot problems, they keep me comfortable. The soles are slip/skid-resistant and the Napa leather uppers are soft and pliable, reducing break-in to 1 - 2 days. Great paired up with skinny jeans or a cute little dress for a night out too! Classic boot with all of the best attributes!

Love the boots as they are so cute. I just wish they did not squeak when I walked in them. I used some vaseline as some suggested along the tongue. This helped but I am hoping the squeaking goes away all together. Other than this- really happy with these boots.

Stiff in weird places! These are super cute, but they were insanely rigid across the place where the tongue attaches to the front of the shoe. (Google claims this is called the "throat line", which I guess makes sense.) I have very low insteps, and it still felt like this line of stitching was cutting into the top of my foot. A similar problem was happening along the back of the boot where the leather is doubled up, but it was less noticeable there. The soles were nicely comfortable and bouncy, but the uppers did not match the comfort or quality I expect from Docs. I've owned and broken in Docs before, and didn't have these issues. They did include both black and bright yellow laces, which is a nice touch.

In the beginning you may have to break them in before you have overall comfort without saying "ouch!". Cute boot however.

I love these boots, but my feet are too wide for the women's version. I ordered the smooth version. The leather is very stiff. Back in the day, I had the smooth and think that I will try that one.

These boots are absolutely stunning. I'm more of a grunge kind of a girl and these fit my taste so well. I love them so much. I'm usually a 10 in shoes and so I got a UK 8 and they are a bit big. Probably a half or whole size too large. But I'm planning on layering with socks. But they also look pretty big and I don't want them to make me look...clowny, but I love them so much and who cares what anyone thinks...love them so much!

These were really cute but definitely run big. I am always a woman's US size 9 and I ordered the equivalent of a 9 which was a UK 7 but they were too big and looked too clunky. Overall if the sizing was right I think they would have been comfortable. By the way, the red is very similar looking to what I see on my monitor...it's a deep burgundy red. Personally I would have liked a brighter red.

These 1460 Smooth Cherry are so stiff they cut into your upper ankle part of your leg. Not a shoe that will soften in time because the rim around the boot is not moveable. Feels like cheap plastic, not a soft leather. I remember Dr Martens as a teenager breaking them in but not like this... Made in Vietnam. Back in the day, they were made in Europe.

The boot looks great, but I found the leather to be too stiff for my taste. I'm going to go with the nappa leather version - a bit softer leather.

The boots are cheap looking and uncomfortable. Does not feel like leather, more like plastic.

They look very nice on. I wear 9 and ordered 9. The size was fine. I would not size down or up. The style is very nice! However the left boot was terribly uncomfortable where the tongue meets the front. It dug into the top of my left foot super hard. I was not able to walk around the house at all. The right boot was fine so it makes me believe that there was something wrong with the way this particular boot was made. Perhaps defective. Unfortunately I had to return and my size is out of stock so can't reorder now. Very sad!

I normally wear a 7.5 in boots, and so I got a size 7 in these. They are HUGE. My foot moves around in them like crazy. Initial impressions are generally negative on quality. I agree with other reviewers that the material seems cheap. Maybe it would scuff up nicely with wear? I don't know. It had be doubting it was even leather.

I have been an avid Docs customer since before they were sold to Nike decades ago. I absolutely love Docs and was excited to get a new pair. These however... left much to be desired. They were super stiff and the end of the tongue where it connects to the toe box was very tight and dug into my foot. Extremely uncomfortable. The pictures also didn't indicate that these were meant to look "scuffed" with silver showing through on the wear marks. I plan on returning and ordering something else. SO disappointed!
