Sandals he will wear - I ordered these for my 10 year old son. He had seen some of this brand in a store and thought he would like them because of the soft nylon lining. I ordered 5 and 6 and the 5 was good. So I feel they run true to size or large. He loves them. He hasn't worn sandals for 2 summers because he likes the feel of socks and shoes. He doesn't like anything to rub. These are soft inside and he can still run and play. They are easy to get on and stay on securely. He says the sole is squishy and he likes that. I was worried that I was spending too much money on a kids sandal but now I don't have any regrets. They have been worth the money.

Love Keens! The velcro closure eliminated my only complaint with earlier styles in allowing easier donning of the shoe. Keens are indestructible. Your child will outgrow the shoe before wearing it out! I think they run a bit small, so go up if there is any doubt about sizing.

My nephew loves these! I bought these shoes for my nephew’s birthday and I didn’t figure he would be that impressed, but he loves that he can run around in water and they dry right off. They also have that great Keen toe that protects his feet when he is kicking a ball or just running around in the playground. I would say these are an all around great shoe.

Kids Keens - We bought the green and they look great for a boy. We are breaking them in with sox until it is warmer out and avoiding blisters. My son likes them too.

Great for boys on the go - My five year old loves these slip on easy wash... no sock shoes. I’ve been waiting all summer to get him some...

Best kid shoes ever! These are the only shoes that my 10 year old son will wear. Last year's pair saw us through many adventures including camping, hiking, trips to the lake, boating, tree-climbing and biking. We are replacing them because he outgrew them.

Great fit - Got these for my 6 year old grandson. One of his friends had something similar. He thinks these are just "too neat". The fit well & are very comfortable. Easy to put on after he learned what to do with the pull tab.

Simply a great shoe! These sandals/shoes are great! They hold up through everything and still look nice. The new velcro opening this year is handy and seemed to make the shoe a little easier to put on. The green is a great color. If in doubt on size go up - these seems to run at least a half size small.

My 5yo son loves the tie dye rainbow, I love that they have a rubber to that won’t split right away! They are kind of crazy bright, but I expect once they get a little dirty it won’t be as obnoxious. He chose these over the pixelated multi-color design because there was no orange in the other design. Sizing down one seems about right. He’s in 2s in other shoes but we got both 1 and 2 in these and 1 did seem much better, and still had some room for growth.

Great water shoes, but tough to get on my 6 year old's feet. He can't quite pull them on by himself. We definitely wear them when tidepooling, but otherwise...we typically go for flip flops.

Good shoe - My son likes the shoes and they seem very durable.

Nice but weighty - Although this is a comfortable hybrid shoe for kids; my 7 year old son complains of them being "too heavy" compared to his previously worn Teva sandals. I'm going to send them back because I don't want him to trip and fall due to their heaviness.

Bought a pair for my 3 and 4 year olds. I like the overall durability of the shoe and the fact that they go from dry land to water. I have washed them successfully many times and they come out looking close to new. My two complaints are that they make both of my children's feet really smelly and that the lace joint cap broke on one shoe. I contacted Keen and received a replacement set of laces and parts to repair the shoe. I followed the instructions and managed to break the replacement joint cap while squeezing with pliers (per instructions). Instead of trying again, I just used a lighter to burn the end of the lace to keep it from fraying and that seems to have worked fine.

Although I love the look of these shoes and their purpose in outdoor versatility, I would personally steer clear of this one particular style with the cross over strap. The strap does not seem to be designed with enough length to truly accommodate a child's foot inside in reaching the Velcro band, has to be pulled tightly to do so which is discomfort for the child, and honestly an un-necessary measure in design. I do wish these were made simpler as my adult style; just slip-on-and-go without the extra band. The positives though are the vibrant attractive colors my son enjoys wearing, and the ease we find without worrying if he steps into water sources when enjoying our active days outdoors.

In the past I have loved Keens for my son, but now that he is a little older, they stink so bad when he wears them. I can't find any solution for this. I don't think I will buy them again for this reason! I have read online that it is a common problem with this shoe.

I have purchased (and loved) many pair of Keens. However, this pair for my son were poorly constructed. The strap broke in only a few months. Is there any way to send these back to Keen?

Be prepared to soap this shoe every day, preferably twice. Or maintain a safe distance of 20 feet from it. It is the first time we are having this problem.

This is my 7th or 8th summer buying a pair of these workhorse shoes. I only have to buy new ones because of my kid's feet growing. I pass them on to the next family every year with lots of life in them. These are such a good investment in footwear because they keep my kid happy in sandless that protect their toes, can handle all warm weather terrains, and they do fine getting wet and quickly drying. These are the only shoes we need all summer. I think that my kid has reached the largest kids size this year, a bittersweet mile marker. Hopefully I am wrong and we get another summer in these great Keens next year.
